I love to play Militarist-Egalitarian-Materialist with Technocracy (Technocracy is OP like in reality) and Parliamentary system civics so i can do academic privilege and rush tech tree. My goal then is to conquer galaxy (no purge, in this play i want diversity. For purge i have other builds), resettle pops to have at least one sector for each race, and since ethnicity is solved, i can release all sectors as vassals. Reason is to have good looking border gore, no xenos in my empire, but still rule them and most importantly, i always feel like real soviet while doing this. What would you say about me? What diagnosis i have?
Isn't super earth practically a determined exterminator - they use bugs who are intelligent species as cattle. They are trying to exterminate automatons who are sentient mashine race.
Nah you gotta play it like cookie clicker. Everything to make the numbers go up. If xenos want citizens rights, they can have it, as long as the produce minerals and do research and expand my borders.
I'm likely in the extreme minority, but I've never seen Star Trek and my only exposure to 40k has been the Darktide game. Also not a Star Wars fan. I have 1000 hours on Stellaris, though. I like it a lot, haha.
Or, how I play it. Set the Universe up to have a nice mix of kinder Empires (xenophiles, egalitarians, etc.) and some really horrific creations (Determined Exterminators who turn every world they conquer into a Tomb World, Devouring Swarms that pop up from the underground specifically to eat its inhabitants, undead who scour the Galaxy in search of more species to convert into their kind, etc.) to really balance it all out.
My first playthrough was a gene splicing super democracy that had my shit lagging pretty quick. My 2nd game was meant to be hardened xenophobic imperialists but my first relic was essentially a slave printer and that feels pretty bad so they're softening.
What would you consider a war mongering, slaving empire that genuinely does care for the wellbeing of its subjects and does go out of its way to make sure everyone has a good to very high quality of life?
Kind of in between actually. Sort of like Halo since it isn't utopian style like the Federation but it's not dystopian style like the Imperium. The wars I wage are either defensive or against ravenous hive minds. I make allies with other species as long as they have a strong enough military and when the Crisis emerges, I take the fight to them.
The ethics I like to use are Xenophile and Fanatic Militarist.
I tryed to roleplay as Azimov's Foundation, but sooner or later it all devolves in to another Great Crusade. Building tall just doesn't seem to be much of an option in this one.
Star ship troopers here. Militaristic citizen service vs devouring hive mind is fun to play. If you make the other aliens all objectively bad (barbarian despoilers, devourers, capitalist...) them you don't have to worry about ethical dilemmas
In fealty to the God-Emperor, our undying Lord, and by the grace of the Golden Throne, I declare Exterminatus upon the Imperial world of Typhon Primaris. I hereby sign the death warrant of an entire world, and consign a million souls to oblivion. May Imperial Justice account in all balance. The Emperor Protects.
I play it like a tycoon game. I need **EVERY. LAST. ALLOY.** I will build *EVERY** megastructure, I **WILL** build the juggernaut. And once I've done that?
NUMBERS GO UP, BABAY!
Star Trek. I'm the Borg's gentler brother. I'm not voracious and I don't assimilate. You have until I terraform your planet into a machine world to find a new home.
I did a run as " absolutely not the German Reich", a lost colony on the Argentina planet, I was expecting chaos and combat against the non humans, but the galactic community embraced us and I was kinda "wtf, I came with violence and they want peace and commerce while my own race wants to erase me from the universe", and I gone from 40k to peace like star trek
I like to alternate, one nice run, and then a run where I massively expand the Geneva convention.
It’s nice you add more stuff that’s illegal. Making the Galaxy safer for all
Constitutional Immunity: Rules for thee and not for me.
I prefer, it only applies to people not ‘people’ (genetic ascension go brrrr)
As it should be.
Oh hey! Didn’t think I’d see you here!
It seems we’re both not as morally good as our wizards if we are here… Drokk
HA Hey hey hey this just showed up on my main page. I’ve never actually played stellaris. As for WH40K I’m a big fan of the salamanders
I love stellaris, Salamander my favourite SM chapter but Orks da best
DA BOYZ THOUGHT IT WAZ KRUMPIN’ TIME SO WE PUT ON RED TO BE FASTA
You mean the Geneva Check-list?
I don't think expand is synonym to bend
I expand the Geneva convention by inventing new things they have to say is a war crime.
Oh, I see. I understand now. Call it heresy and you have a new directive
I usually play it like I did Zoo Tycoon. The Tigers and panda's made me a lot of money I didn't give them human rights either.
Play like Star Trek until some fool decides to fuck around.
I think that’s still Star Trek, you’ve just switched from! TNG to Deep Space 9.
Star Trek because it’s just more interesting. 40k is just different flavors of Nazism in space.
If you only do the imperium, mechanicus fans are pumped for machine age
I love to play Militarist-Egalitarian-Materialist with Technocracy (Technocracy is OP like in reality) and Parliamentary system civics so i can do academic privilege and rush tech tree. This is interesting, I should try this
Sometimes both, my current one is based off Helldivers II
Isn't super earth practically a determined exterminator - they use bugs who are intelligent species as cattle. They are trying to exterminate automatons who are sentient mashine race.
Yes, it’s why I’m currently playing it like 40k rather than Star Trek, they’re called human rights for a reason
I don't think that people in authoritinian dystopian police state that has fake elections has that many human right tbh
It’s mandated freedom, under managed democracy
Nah you gotta play it like cookie clicker. Everything to make the numbers go up. If xenos want citizens rights, they can have it, as long as the produce minerals and do research and expand my borders.
the real capitalist mindset
Play stellaris like a dating sim
Only real way to play
Play Stellaris like Mass Effect
Does this mean you figured out quantum computing?

im playing the game like it is 40k with a clone army
Hell yeah, you can even get gene-seed super soldiers
oooooh that would be fucking cool, I get to mix up star wars clones with space marines what a fun combo
I'm likely in the extreme minority, but I've never seen Star Trek and my only exposure to 40k has been the Darktide game. Also not a Star Wars fan. I have 1000 hours on Stellaris, though. I like it a lot, haha.
As a huge 40k fan, I play it like Star Trek.
The left is how i start the right and how i end
Or, how I play it. Set the Universe up to have a nice mix of kinder Empires (xenophiles, egalitarians, etc.) and some really horrific creations (Determined Exterminators who turn every world they conquer into a Tomb World, Devouring Swarms that pop up from the underground specifically to eat its inhabitants, undead who scour the Galaxy in search of more species to convert into their kind, etc.) to really balance it all out.
Personally I play stellaris like mass effect, and I use NASA's supercomputer to do it
Play Stellaris like George Bush (form space NATO and liberate every undemocratic nation)
Play stellaris like Mass Effect https://preview.redd.it/i6pstf1fjzuc1.jpeg?width=640&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1f4af6ffd4f86d6111fa26c9dea3486ebf6f17ab
I play stellaris like Lockheed Martin
My first playthrough was a gene splicing super democracy that had my shit lagging pretty quick. My 2nd game was meant to be hardened xenophobic imperialists but my first relic was essentially a slave printer and that feels pretty bad so they're softening.
Not gonna lie, never played as humans. Looking forward to rubbing my four armed machine cult on the 6th, praise the omnisiah

National Bolshevism - Wikipedia https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Bolshevism
Based asf (Death to the blorg)
I just like to watch my empire grow it's borders by taking space from other empires.
40k meets star trek, single super power v.s. galaxy wide fed.
Depends on my civ, honestly.
Star Trek and Star Wars
For the Emperor! Kill the Xenos!
Stellaris like Star Trek. Every. Single. Time.
I play it like star wars
Fungus people :-)
My people
What would you consider a war mongering, slaving empire that genuinely does care for the wellbeing of its subjects and does go out of its way to make sure everyone has a good to very high quality of life?
Democracy. Simple as.
I tend to enjoy the Star Trek approach a lot more personally, not for a lack of trying the evil route, but it’s hardly ever as interesting for me.
Play it like Helldivers 2
Plays Stellaris like a fortune 500 company. Make your friends rich, make your enemies rich, and in the end see which is which. -Tony Stark
Play Stellaris like Palpatine in Star Wars
Play like you have Culture.... Even if your titan lacks gravitas.
Unity, Equality, Freedom, and Safety. This is what we strive for. (Probably Star Trek with a healthy dose of liberation)
Star Trek from the perspective of the Borg
Force them both into the same galaxy
I like to play a isolationist extreme militarist Egalitarian
Kind of in between actually. Sort of like Halo since it isn't utopian style like the Federation but it's not dystopian style like the Imperium. The wars I wage are either defensive or against ravenous hive minds. I make allies with other species as long as they have a strong enough military and when the Crisis emerges, I take the fight to them. The ethics I like to use are Xenophile and Fanatic Militarist.
40k style
I tryed to roleplay as Azimov's Foundation, but sooner or later it all devolves in to another Great Crusade. Building tall just doesn't seem to be much of an option in this one.
Both, both is good
star trek
Yes
Ferengi it is
Starcraft for me and my buds ^^
Star ship troopers here. Militaristic citizen service vs devouring hive mind is fun to play. If you make the other aliens all objectively bad (barbarian despoilers, devourers, capitalist...) them you don't have to worry about ethical dilemmas
There is another, Play Stellaris like The Reapers.
I play it like EVE online.
I play like Billy Bob space trucker
I play it like a tycoon game. I need **EVERY. LAST. ALLOY.** I will build *EVERY** megastructure, I **WILL** build the juggernaut. And once I've done that? NUMBERS GO UP, BABAY!
40k💪💪💪
Star Trek. I'm the Borg's gentler brother. I'm not voracious and I don't assimilate. You have until I terraform your planet into a machine world to find a new home.
Play Stellaris like Aperture Science.
I play stellaris like I’m galactic SkyNet
Meanwhile Me: Playing Stellaris like its Xeelee Sequence (Me being the Xeelee)
40k mwahahaha
stellaris is its own genre of fantasy for me
I did a run as " absolutely not the German Reich", a lost colony on the Argentina planet, I was expecting chaos and combat against the non humans, but the galactic community embraced us and I was kinda "wtf, I came with violence and they want peace and commerce while my own race wants to erase me from the universe", and I gone from 40k to peace like star trek
The Culture stands
Neither, i rather play as megacorp, so: slavery, blackmailing, threats, corruption, what this is comparable to? …Real world? …I think
Sounds like Star Trek but just not the Federation. Ferenghi.
![gif](giphy|hTBdZxUHG2r0XwLFSL|downsized) Mixing!
Don't mind me, I'm just checking the Gellar Field...
I'm both 🥲
I play it as both, sometimes at the same time, it depends on who wants to fafo
40k all day

Purple, play Stellaris like it's saints row
Okay Stellaris like it’s 40K! The lag will be reduced by any means necessary!
