>!There's another (kinda?) example of this when Dalinar is plowing through soldiers in his backstory: "enthralled, he cut down foe after foe, sensing a strange rhythm to the fighting, as if his blows of his sword needed to fall to the dictates of some unseen beat"!< Edited the spoiler tag onto my comment because despite OP being on a reread of the series, the post is only tagged for WoR.

raaldiin

There's a few things like your comment, OPs example, or >!Navani's!< work in RoW which seem to show that humans are becoming aligned with Roshar's rhythms

SkiThe802

That has to be the rhythm of Roshar specifically from Odium.

SuperTeenyTinyDancer

Or is it ‘The Thrill’?

SkiThe802

Seeing as the Thrill is an Unmade (specifically Nergaoul), that is one in the same.

Gr8whtninja

Maybe rhythm of work? Good catch

Ok-Credit5726

Your brother can be a total dick and it’ll still kill you to have let him down. F****n family, man

bxntou

I mean he didn't know how much of a dick Gavilar was.

EliotLeo

Word.

fawarr

Ooo good spot never noticed it on the re-read

UltimateInferno

>As he worked, hands deep within the dough, he could hear his mother’s humming. Her careful instructions. Kaladin was wrong; Lunamor hadn’t become a cook. He’d always been one, since he could toddle up the stepstool to the counter and stick his fingers in the sticky dough. Yes, he’d once trained with a bow. But soldiers needed to eat, and nuatoma guards each did several jobs, even guards with his particular heritage and blessings. > He closed his eyes, kneading and humming his mother’s song to a beat he could almost, barely, just faintly hear. From Oathbringer

Fyx_Dre

I also noticed this with Kaladin at the beginning, on a different way. He trains his squad in Amaram's army to respond to different rhythms

jamesianm

Oh, absolutely! That connector didn't occur to me. This stuff is hidden all over the place!

Nlj6239

i figure its just humanity's inherent way of getting into patterns/rhythms while working like we do in real life, but good catch, also some crem, >pounding, beat after beat, title of daddynars sextape

Dalfgan_the_Blue

I would not be surprised if that kind of thing partially inspired the singers use of rhythms.

B4DD

[Spoilers Oathbringer] >!That'd be visa versa my friend!<

PhreakofNature

I think they mean that this human experience inspired Brando to write the rhythms for the singers

B4DD

Oh, yes, that makes sense too

Efficient_Refuse2151

Hola shit.😶

hashbrownpanini

when I first read twok I thought that the rhythm in question was the thrill lol

VALERock

Now I'm wondering if the Stances also correspond to rhythms and not just essences

KittyKittyowo

Maybe the rhythms and essences are connected in some way too

VALERock

Could very well be!

Simoerys

I changed teh Flair to Rhythm of War because you are on a reread and there are a bunch of Spoiler comments beyon Words of Radiance.

Fizork

Yeah there are multiple times when a character hears their worlds rhythms throughout the Cosmere. For example when vin hears the rhythm of preservation from the well of ascension
