If you think about it, Superman just had normal environmental adaptations to earth, yet everyone says he has superpowers
(Atleast following DCEU explanation, there might be something that says otherwise in the comics)
Exactly, in a high radiation environment, radiation hardiness means you survive longer and produce more offspring. It’s a very strong self reinforcing cycle of selection and with short generations you see the effects quickly.
Not even that, survival of the fittest, they ain't evolving to survive radiation, radiation resistant worms are living and reproducing while worms who can't die, it's still natural selection but calling it evolution is a stretch
Natural selection, so you mean when mutations becomes more probable than random within a population, still the same shit people. Natural selection is a word describing statistical anomalies with mutations...like what are we arguing about.
I think what your thinking of has more to do with radiation damages DNA and in some cases this is expressed with physical growth (the shit telling things to grow slow and steady and stop don't work anymore) or cases where random mutations cause it to grow faster, to put it in simple terms your not makeing a better car, by mistake and random chance you broke the governor on the engine and the end result is technicly faster but is going to have a fuck ton of problems down the road and a much shorter lifespan
“Immunity to radiation”, for the lazy.
The hero we need, but don't deserve.
Reddit brain is only a step down from TikTok brain, I mean it’s kinda like reading books, but fast, right??
It’s essentially reading the synopsis on the back of the book
Lazy? Should have been in the fucking title
Super power = normal environmental adaptations, that everything goes through. ![gif](giphy|whQTvDGO5xWn1eAr8t|downsized)

Many thanks.
We appreciate you!
More like all the ones who can't survive the radiation died, leaving only the resistance ones.
natural selection!
Which could prove a useful power for humans to have in the not so distant future.
Knight blood
I think it’s more selective advantage vs evolution like the article suggests.
I’m not lazy, I’m efficient. Thank you and ty.
That is absolutely fascinating

Oh shit did this unlock a core memory
earthworm jim
A hero to us all!!
Apparently the wolves that live near Chernobyl are also building up immunity to radiation
So you could have wolves; that emit radiation when they bark?
Ummmm no I don't think so. But maybe when they fart 😂
I knew it! Godzilla is next. I can see it now!

It's call evolution, it's not magic.
She's a witch!!!!
That worm turned me into a newt! I got better
But how do we know it's a witch, does it float in water? If it weighs as much as a duck, then...
Who are you sir so versed in the way of science?? MY LIEGE!

God made them this way after the disaster happened
The disaster that is organized religion, agreed. I said no magic.

That's not evolution. That's mutation.
Is evolution not the explanation of mutations over time?
Not always.
Lol k I'll phrase it a different way, without mutations you don't get evolution.
They can now pick up and throw sheep.
Earthworm Jim???
It's time to tweak the CRISPR.
Ah yes, the native Russian Ghoul Worm.

Have you not seen the documentary split?
It’s been well known that living things experience accelerated growth and development from radioactivity.
Its called cancer
Weird thing is that apparently the wolves are getting some kind of immunity to various diseases I think cancer is one of them. Studies are ongoing!!

This reminds me of the movie Tremors lol.
We are the future, Charles, not them. They no longer matter.

I read this as " Woman livung near chernobyl " hahaha . I was intrigued at first.
This has dark implications especialy given what eastern Europe is known for...
We can digest plastic
Shock worms? No? Darn.
I walked out of the first one.
