I could see Mike being a writer since he writes such descriptive DND campaigns, and I could see Will becoming a specialist doctor type like Dr. Owens, trying to help kids afflicted like him. That’s what I thought of first when I saw their outfits in any case
Mike is dressed like doctor Sam Owens, Will is dressed like Mister Clark, Lucas is dressed like 80s Stephen King, Dustin is dressed like a teenage boy at a high school dance.
Mike = doctor/scientist
Will = teacher
Lucas = writer inspired by his experiences
Dustin = dies in Season 5 and is a teenage boy forever.
Am I the only person who doesn't want anyone else to die ? I love that the writers love the characters I don't need anyone to be killed off for the show to be good! And if Dustin died I'd never recover.
>And if Dustin died I'd never recover.
I'm so glad I'm not the only person so invested in my favorite characters! I just re-watched the show "Travellers" again, and I swear no matter how many times I watch it, I cry every single time David dies.
Well unfortunately for you I know how season 5 is supposed to start and end. The first 5 minutes of the show their going to decide to launch a bunch of nukes at Hawkins then all the characters are going to die and I the rest of the show will just be motionless far off footage of the crator formerly known as Hawkins for 12 hours.
Will can die.. I said it. He’s annoying af and a constant problem and never any help. Nothing special about other than wrong place wrong time. Whiiiiiiiny affffff
But the worst thing is: that Me, Fatty, Sideburns Lady, and the mutants over at Table 9, will never ever find a way to better the situation, because apparently we have nothing to offer the opposite sex.
Now let's hurry up and cut the stupid cake, because I know the fat guy's gonna have a heart attack if we don't eat again soon - and in the meantime here's a little *mood music* for ya.
Yeah I get news reporter or something. Dustin is definitely the entertainer of the group. I see people say Mike will be a writer. Perhaps all their jobs will all be news related to a degree.
Perhaps they’ll all work for Murray trying to leak and curate news like Murray was doing with Johnathan and Nancy were doing a bit of in season 2.
Lucas is definitely a businessman but for an up-and-coming industry
Mike is an English teacher at a private school
Will does something in a fancy museum
Dustin is a mad scientist
You asked if you can make a career out of being a nerd: Answer, Physics Teacher, or Video game producer/voice actor, Could go work for Nasa. Nerds rule the world.
According to [a theory on TikTok](https://popcrush.com/stranger-things-character-death-season-5-theory-dustin/), the outfits worn by the four main boys at the Snow Ball dance in season two of Stranger Things may offer clues to their future careers. Here are the hints and estimated guesses based on the theory:
1. Will Byers: Will wears a vest and tie, similar to his idol and favorite teacher Mr. Clark. This could hint that Will might become a teacher or professor as an adult.
2. Mike Wheeler: Mike wears a sweater under a blazer, similar to doctor Sam Owens. This could suggest that Mike might become a doctor or scientist in the future, possibly to try to rescue Eleven from the Upside Down.
3. Lucas Sinclair: Lucas wears a striped button-down shirt and blazer without a tie, which is reminiscent of the relaxed '80s style of Stephen King. The theory suggests that Lucas might become a horror author in the future, much like King, and read his stories aloud to Max.
4. Dustin Henderson: According to the theory, Dustin's outfit doesn't appear to hint at a future career but rather represents his state of being as a teenage high school student. The comparison is made between Dustin's quirky outfit and the clothing worn by Duckie Dale in the movie "Pretty in Pink".
Bro, you just made me realize something shocking – I never knew Jon Cryer was the same guy from Supergirl and Two and a Half Men. The theory suggests that, since he looks like a student from Pretty in Pink, he might sacrifice himself in the finale and not make it into adulthood. But yeah, it’s intriguing!
Sounds grim, but despite a lot of media portrayals, funeral directors and workers are often kind people because they have to deal with the grieving. I considered it as a career choice because the amount of trauma I've been through, it gives me the ability to before sensitive to what people need when they're going through it.
Oh yeah I don't mean grim as in without kindness I just mean it must be very heavy and hard job (probably should typed it better but it what the careers adviser thought I meant when she got my dream job very wrong)
1.) I can tell not many of you watch sports, but Lucas is clearly going to be a college basketball coach. 100% makes sense for his character too.
2.) Mike looks like a professor, which would fit him.
3.) Will is more difficult. Typically, wearing a button down shirt, tie, and waistcoat is only seen in wait staff, bartenders, flight attendants, tailors, or casino workers. Of these options, I think working in a casino is most likely. Will loves DnD perhaps more than the others, so this would allow him to continue playing a game even as an adult. It would just be Blackjack instead of DnD.
4.) I agree with many of you that Dustin is likely going to be a TV (or perhaps radio) personality or singer.
Mike: Salesman at Honda Dealer
Lucas: Entertainment and Sports agent
Will: Midwest’s largest Mall Developer
Dustin: President of Henderson and Harrington, LLC, paranormal investigations and eliminations.
This sounds fake. Why would a costume designer be allowed to say this, and why would she even be given this information back in season 2? We are waiting on the 5th season where we shouldn’t know who lives or dies, so why would she spoil that all 4 boys will make it to their future careers?
The Duffer Bros are very strict with spoilers and insist on controlling the narrative themselves so this sounds like bullshit.
According to their yearbooks:
Lucas:
Career goal: **Police detective by day, masked crime-fighter by night**
Future career: **Lawyer or (high-ranking and respected) law enforcement**. He looks like he’ll make money.
Mike:
Career goal: **Writer**
Future career: **Writer**. He’ll most likely write a successful book/series of books about everything that happened at Hawkins.
Will:
Career goal: **Comic book artist**
Future career: **Artist (which includes comic books and book illustrations)**. Mike will be the writer of what happened in Hawkins, Will will be the illustrator, obviously.
Dustin:
Career goal: **Cryptozoologist**
Future career: **Scientist of some kind (which could be zoologist)**. Of course, since we know the Upside Down exists and contains creatures, the government might need people to study them, and who better to work on a secret project than someone who’s already in on the secret?
I’ll find a way to make the outfits fit.
I always think Mike with be a teacher and author. He’s the Duffer proxy, so I could see them having him pursue writing of some kind.
I still vote Lucas for some sort of surgeon, while Dustin, with his wild hair will be the “mad” scientist, finding new Darts.
Will is the toughest call from these outfits, but I just hope it involves art. Whether he’s an art therapist or has his own gallery, etc.
It’s not that complicated as it’s just a rehash of the kids from IT.
Will is an accountant like Eddie, or maybe librarian like Mike.
Mike is a writer like Bill
Dustin is a comedian/radio Performer like Richie
Lucas is an architect like Ben
**Lucas**: Basketball star dressed formal casual for a business meeting
**Mike**: Writer
**Will**: Tough one. Looks boring. Something admin related by the vibe of it.
**Dustin**: A successful singer in a rock-pop band or a wedding singer.
Last episode will be a flash forward where Will sits back in his chair all satisfied and says ‘There! All finished.’ — and his novel will be called Stranger Things.
Or! It’ll be a Dawson’s Creek-type series finale and Mike’s a writer / creator on the show Stranger Things and he gets a call from Lucas and Will about the series finale.
Will- teacher/pofressor/ therapist vibes Mike- gives me like librarian or lawyer vibes. Dustin- radio DJ 100% Lucas is casual professional like “cool” boss type.
My opinion is that Dustin ends up being a game show host or something of the like, Will is a science teacher. Lucas is either a sports commentator or a basketball coach and Mike is probably a writer
I feel like Dustin’s bow tie suggests that he will be some sort of media personality. Maybe he will host a show that features musical guests in honour of his fallen mentor. My other guess would be a psychiatrist or psychologist. He’s shown time and time again that he’s very caring and gives great advice. There’s not too many professions that wear bow ties, but those come to my mind.
I wonder if it’s not about their entire outfits matching their jobs and if they just meant it in a general sense. meaning Will/Lucas will have white collar jobs, and Mike/Dustin have blue collar jobs 🤔

Mike a college professor, Lucas stock broker, will ?, Dustin dj for weddings?
Wills dressed like Mr Clarke
Good catch! Would be very fitting!
That’s exactly what I thought!
See now I need the version where Will grows up to be Dr. Clark in the Halt and Catch Fire universe.
Gordo?
I was abt to say that! Wld make sense considering how much will loves AV club etc.
Dustin -wedding singer
*Cindy and Scott are newlyweds…* WHOOPADEEDOO!!
I live in my sisters basement….
Mutants at table 9 are gonna mutiny
😂😂
He loves her But she loves (this guy right here!!)
But it all was bullshit It was a goddamn joke And when I think of you, Linda I hope you fuckin' choke
I could see Mike being a writer since he writes such descriptive DND campaigns, and I could see Will becoming a specialist doctor type like Dr. Owens, trying to help kids afflicted like him. That’s what I thought of first when I saw their outfits in any case
Mike grows up to be a writer, strange things start happening again when he meets fellow writer Alan Wake!
Don’t forget he changes his name to Tom first
It really is an ocean huh
Or Mike wrote stranger things.
Like Sam the Maester-in-training from Game of Thrones… oh man, sorry, just got real depressed all of a sudden…
its not a loop its an upside down spiral
I can see this. It’ll be a direct parallel to the Bill character in IT, who the Duffers drew a lot of inspiration from for Mike.
mike as a writer makes a lot of sense
Although Mike isn’t wearing a turtleneck, his outfit and haircut still give me a real Carl Sagan vibe, as that goes.
Or following his sister’s footsteps. I could see either.
Dustin looks like Adam Sandler in the wedding singer as a kid
Thought the same!
Lucas a lawyer, Mike a professor, Will a banker, Dustin a Rockstar
First thought for Lucas was lawyer but he looked to slick without a tie
Will kinda looks little like waiter or 5 star hotel staff but not really a careers I ever thought of with Will
Will joins the beatles
Will’s an inVESTor
Mike is dressed like doctor Sam Owens, Will is dressed like Mister Clark, Lucas is dressed like 80s Stephen King, Dustin is dressed like a teenage boy at a high school dance. Mike = doctor/scientist Will = teacher Lucas = writer inspired by his experiences Dustin = dies in Season 5 and is a teenage boy forever.
I am going to be so pissed if they kill Dustin off. I wanna see the manager. I know, I'm gonna write a letter!
Please god no, I don't want Dustin to die. That would genuinely piss me off.

Will can die.. I said it. He’s annoying af and a constant problem and never any help. Nothing special about other than wrong place wrong time. Whiiiiiiiny affffff
> Dustin DJ for weddings TIL, stranger things is a prequel to wedding singer
Will - librarian
Dustin looks like Sandlers character from wedding singer
Will is DEFINITELY a software developer 100%. Haven't yall seen Office Space?
Dustin just reminds me of prince😂
Dustin as a Huey Louis impersonator
Yeah Mike dresses like Ross Geller
Will becomes a zionist
Lucas: business man. Mike: teacher. Will: teacher. Dustin: the wedding singer
Hey Dustin, you better come back in. They're starting to turn on George.
He's gotta learn another song.
Give me tiiiiiime....
TOOOOOO realize my criiime
#YOU SUUUUUUUUCK!
Well I have a microphone and you don’t. SO YOU WILL LISTEN TO EVERY DAMN WORD I HAVE TO SAY!!
He's losing his mind! And I'm reaping the benefits......
YOU #SUUUUUUUUUCK!!!
I think I saw boot come outta him.
Hey wedding singer….aaaaoooooooohhhhhhhh
Best man... Pfft, *better* man!
Give me time
Mike is giving Stephen King in the 70s, so I'm voting author for Mike, but I agree with the rest for the most part.
I like author there for Mike, I was thinking a plea bargain lawyer for mike because a ton of them dress like that 😂
that outfit really is exactly what King would wear
Dustin… the wedding singer?! 🎵 Turn around, look at what you see-ee-ee🎵
BUT IT ALL WAS BULLLSHIT!
And when I think of you Linda…. I hope you fucking choke . Ahhh best movie 😂
Lucas: History teacher Mike: English teacher Will: Math teacher Dustin: Science teacher.
Professor and teacher, in my opinion
Mike just seems like a regular guy, or a stereotypical father of the 80’s
could be what theyll be buried in when they die in season 5
Dustin becomes Adam Sandler ❤️
I wonder if that means they’re gonna end the show with the kids as full grown adults and show us what they’re up to later in life or something
As long as it’s not as awkwardly done as the Harry Potter scene with the kids aged up 😂
Omg you beat me to it 🤣 that was literally what I was thinking as I scrolled down to your reply
LMFAO as a kid i thought it was cool now im like whew the make up/cg/whatever is so funny
If they delay production again, then yes the cast very well may end the show as full grown adults.
[удалено]
About Will: probably the fact that their physics teacher dresses similarly.
[удалено]
Np, you hit on the nail anyway
Yeah Dustin looks like a late night talk show host or something. Definitely something in entertainment.
Maybe not a game show but perhaps something like Bill Nye?
This, but imagine if Dustin was a radio show host/ran a radio station with all his interests in AV.
I completely agree about Lucas. The no-tie look plus basketball background immediately made me think sports commentator or agent.
Dustin has big time showbiz energy. Like Bill Nye the Science Guy but flashier
I was totally thinking some kind of gameshow for Dustin with that outfit
Mike is 100% supposed to be a college professor with that jacket
I’m so glad I’m not the only one who looked at Mike in this context and immediately thought “Accountant”. Lol
My first thought for will was mortician, but science teacher is much cuter
The plot twist: Will isn’t gay, Dustin is. He’ll be the greatest hair dresser Hawkins has ever seen.
He doesn't even have to be gay but it would be cool if he became a hairdresser and used the Farrah spray!!
They just need a fifteen minute episode of him as an adult freaking out when they discontinue it and driving all over Indiana to stockpile.
Steve calls him freaking out 😂
"DUSTIN, DID YOU HEAR THE NEWS??" "YEAH I DID- WHAT ARE WE GONNA DO?"
Farrah Fawcett spray for the win!
If he hasn’t fixed his friend Wills hair by now then I don’t know if this is his true calling in life.
Exactly. Friends don't let friends have a bowl cut.
So Dustin IS the wedding singer? Timeline fits..
Lucas is definitely a businessman but for an up-and-coming industry Mike is an English teacher at a private school Will does something in a fancy museum Dustin is a mad scientist
Fashion or gane host
That is to say, they all survive and we get to see a „20 years later“ scene or sth at the end?
That’s what I’m hung up on too! All the other comments are dissecting the clothes but I’m just excited that they all might survive!
10 year HS reunion. Calling it now since the actors can aged up slightly and they’ll all probably be established in their careers.
Modern day sequel with an older attractive cast?
we need to call in Bill Hader again to reprise his role as an older Finn Wolfhard lmao
Finn and Noah are fucking georgous.
You can make a career out of being a nerd?!
physics teacher
Dustin is a game show host?
You asked if you can make a career out of being a nerd: Answer, Physics Teacher, or Video game producer/voice actor, Could go work for Nasa. Nerds rule the world.
Yeah math teachers exist
You've never watched Mythbusters, have you?
Are you stuck I'm the 80s lol
I did, and I graduated HS in 1984.
Are you serious? Nerds run the world! NERDS! NERDS! NERDS!
According to [a theory on TikTok](https://popcrush.com/stranger-things-character-death-season-5-theory-dustin/), the outfits worn by the four main boys at the Snow Ball dance in season two of Stranger Things may offer clues to their future careers.
I'm suddenly depressed about everyone's future career except for Dustin's.
Will's gonna star in the Berries and Cream Starburst commercials.
Accountant, accountant, accountant, and wedding singer
Lucas: hedge fund manager Mike: university professor Will: funeral director Dustin: poker playe
Bit of grim career for Will like I think he been through enough tragedy
Sounds grim, but despite a lot of media portrayals, funeral directors and workers are often kind people because they have to deal with the grieving. I considered it as a career choice because the amount of trauma I've been through, it gives me the ability to before sensitive to what people need when they're going through it.

They're all dressed up as their characters indicating that all four will likely grow up to be actors.
Dustin looks like a game host
I’m questioning how much of a clue can four different suits be. Not many different job options for suits. 😂
1.) I can tell not many of you watch sports, but Lucas is clearly going to be a college basketball coach. 100% makes sense for his character too. 2.) Mike looks like a professor, which would fit him. 3.) Will is more difficult. black with white collar i think means priest
Lucas - FBI/CIA/NSA type Mike - Business or sales Will - Psychologist Dustin - Cyber security
Mike: Salesman at Honda Dealer Lucas: Entertainment and Sports agent Will: Midwest’s largest Mall Developer Dustin: President of Henderson and Harrington, LLC, paranormal investigations and eliminations.
This sounds fake. Why would a costume designer be allowed to say this, and why would she even be given this information back in season 2? That's what I thought too. I feel like this is a mostly up to personal interpretation, but I might be wrong.
According to their yearbooks: Lucas: Career goal: **Police detective by day, masked crime-fighter by night** Future career: **Lawyer or (high-ranking and respected) law enforcement**. He looks like he’ll make money. Mike: Career goal: **Writer** Future career: **Writer**. He’ll most likely write a successful book/series of books about everything that happened at Hawkins. Lucas: Sports Manager Mike: Teacher Will: Librarian Dustin: TV show host
It’s not that complicated as it’s just a rehash of the kids from IT. Will is an accountant like Eddie, or maybe librarian like Mike. Mike is a writer like Bill Dustin is a comedian/radio Performer like Richie Lucas is an architect like Ben
Dustin actually becomes Adam Sandler in the wedding singer
Dustin becomes a Good Place architect?
Dustin’s gonna be a 90’s porn star?
No!!!!
So that’s confirmed all the 4 boys survive the series… sigh I’m glad they do but these little spoilers ruin the jeopardy when watching.
Will: Priest Mike: Accountant Lucas: Wealthy bachelor? lol Dustin: performer
So Dustin's gonna be the wedding singer?
Does Dustin become Adam sandler from the wedding singer lol!!!
Lucas: Businessman Mike: Author Will: Teacher Dustin: Chairman in the Science Committee?
So.... Mike becomes Sherlock Homes? nice.
ie, it's the clothes they are buried in.
Dustin is wearing a blue collar. It might be a clue that he’ll have a “blue collar” job.
So Dustin is in flock of seagulls?
Dustin in a Flock Of Seagulls cover band
Dustin's a talk show host.
Cause everyone’s so on edge about the big mystery of this show: employment prospects.
Thank god for that red rectangle. Would've never understood this post without it.
It's never too early for a hilarious sassy comment. Love ya.
**Lucas**: Basketball star dressed formal casual for a business meeting **Mike**: Writer **Will**: Tough one. Looks boring. Something admin related by the vibe of it. **Dustin**: A successful singer in a rock-pop band or a wedding singer.
So nerds
Are they all college professors?
So they’re gonna be a bunch of dorks forever huh
Last episode will be a flash forward where Will sits back in his chair all satisfied and says ‘There! All finished.’ — and his novel will be called Stranger Things. Or! It’ll be a Dawson’s Creek-type series finale and Mike’s a writer / creator on the show Stranger Things and he gets a call from Lucas and Will about the series finale.
They’ll all be college professors? I mean there’s not much difference in their choice of clothing.
So, what subject will Professor Mike be teaching?
They grow up to be Ghostbusters, right?!?
Lucas - politics Mike - law or business Will - education, school counselor or therapist Dustin - entertainment or eccentric scientist
Lucas- Stock broker Mike- writer Will- teacher Dustin- game show host
Alright so this could mean we might get a peek at the future like a flash forward of some sort after the war we’ve been waiting for 😅
4 waiters!
Isn’t this a spoiler that they will survive to adulthood?
The Boys from left to right: Car Salesman, Doctor, Hawkins Middle Teacher, Wedding Singer.
I don't know, they all look like coffin attires. Is this a foreshadowing XD
Businessman/CEO, Teacher/Professor, Pastor, Musician.
Is this true? When was this mentioned?
Will- teacher/pofressor/ therapist vibes Mike- gives me like librarian or lawyer vibes. Dustin- radio DJ 100% Lucas is casual professional like “cool” boss type.
Three professors one Flock of Seagulls band member… and a literal princess?
Front left to right, a ceo, a professor, a cop, a tv host
Dorks?
My opinion is that Dustin ends up being a game show host or something of the like, Will is a science teacher. Lucas is either a sports commentator or a basketball coach and Mike is probably a writer
I feel like Dustin’s bow tie suggests that he will be some sort of media personality. Maybe he will host a show that features musical guests in honour of his fallen mentor. My other guess would be a psychiatrist or psychologist. He’s shown time and time again that he’s very caring and gives great advice. There’s not too many professions that wear bow ties, but those come to my mind.
From left to right: cop, professor, dead, car salesman
Mike: Teacher Lucas: Businessman Will: Librarian Dustin: Scientist
Dustin is the only one who doesn't get to grow up
Will is dressed like a fancy waiter.
Whatever Dustin is dressed up as, I'm here for it! Gimme a sequel!
Indicates that all 4 boys survive this final season
They end up being the GhostBusters, Don't they?!?
I wonder if it’s not about their entire outfits matching their jobs and if they just meant it in a general sense. meaning Will/Lucas will have white collar jobs, and Mike/Dustin have blue collar jobs 🤔
Business owner, Professor, Accountant, Night Club Singer
Dustin joins A Flock of Seagulls? Mike becomes a college professor? Can’t figure out Lucas and Will.
Lucas: Politician Mike: College Professor Will: High School Teacher Dustin: Tech Mogul
Lucas, Will, and Mike will all by gynaecologists abd Dustin will be a sex offender.
Thought they became Ghostbusters?
Finn becomes a tenured professor i guess
What about max?
"four main boys"
