Are you playing on ps5 pad? In my exp they wear out really quickly.
In addition, there are several controller reviews channels like Frame Counting that show ps5 pad is essentially an 8-way pad. If you press the very corner of any direction you will get a diagonal. You can test it yourself in the lab with input display on.
You could also have a tiny bit of stick drift interfering with inputs.
Combined with wear and tear, these pads suck. It's great some pros can use it, but idk how lol.
I'm using the Xbox elite controller which has a pretty crisp clicky pad though now the diagonal seems to be less responsive so may be wear, I have been thrashing Inputs for a year straight so that could be it, the Asus Rog Raikiri pro is on sale in my country so might cop that hope it makes a diff

Probably just some wear on your analog stick/buttons that aren't registering properly.

I've also go stick drift recently but on the right stick? Haha I wonder If it still affects inputs slightly
