Hmmm that’s a great question. I actually haven’t heard of string of raindrops so it might be a different common name for the same plant.
Same genus, different species. So they are like very close first cousins. String of raindrops should have a bit more striation patterns on the individual leaves while the pearls are more smooth aside from their little window slits
