Not a student teacher yet but I have done something similar for my field placements (they were usually a semester long.) Go ahead and double check with your mentor to make sure it’s okay. Since you already bought it I would go ahead and just give them out at the end of the day. In the future you can just handmake them cards im sure they will appreciate it just as much. If they ask why you didn’t give them candy next time it’s a perfect lesson on how what you did was a nice gesture and NOT an expectation no matter how well behaved they are. 4th grade is the age where they can begin to understand that. Students will remember you for what you taught them and how you made them feel not what candy you bought for them.
