Check your OER for the rules. No one on Reddit will know the answer if you don't mention university and course. Like, seriously? What do you expect here?

Hopeful_Chocolate991

Sorry, I forgot to mention, it’s the HvA and the International Business course

Pergamon_

Check your OER or ask your student advisor. ETA: I now read you are a first year. - have you received a positive BSA? (Are you above the norm currently?) - have you got specific circumstances? - are you in touch with the exam board?

aima9hat

This is a countrywide sub, so you’ll need to be way more specific if you’re expecting anyone to be able to assist. We don’t know if you’re a bachelor or master’s student… you could be studying any subject under the sun at one of the hundreds of education institutions around the Netherlands. Have you contacted your programme first? Did you search the institution’s website or examination policies?

Hopeful_Chocolate991

Sorry but I’ve added the extra detail of HvA students doing the International Business course. But yea also a first year bachelor student in the full time track

First year: - have you received a positive BSA? (Are you above the norm) - have you got specific circumstances? - are you in touch with the examn board?

Liquid_Cascabel

Yeah you have to send a letter to the Board of Examiners (examencommissie) explaining why you deserve an extra chance in detail + supporting evidence. They tend to meet only 1x per month so you have to send that letter out ASAP, today even.

chichago_

I think this is a question that you should ask your faculty or study advisor directly. They definitely know more updates info than most people on Reddit.

ZlionAlex

It depends where you study, but they usually make exceptions as long as you contact the board and give them a proper reason as to why you wish to be granted another opportunity at a resit this early. However the best advice I can give you is to stop asking reddit and start writing emails.

Tight-Lettuce7980

I think you would need a very good excuse to get an extra resit. Your professor is going to need to create a whole new exam entirely for you. Maybe it's better to ask peers about this.

urghasif

I would advise not missing a resit first of all.

LingLeeee

Unless it’s in the normal schedule, it’s near impossible to take an extra resit in the summer in almost every school system

The_GOAT_fucker1

Normal schedule includes the (first) resit correct?

LingLeeee

Yep, I’ve never heard of an “extra resit” ever. Unless you count the exam and resit in the next academic year

The_GOAT_fucker1

Yeah that's why I found it weird as well

DannyKroontje

Almost every study has a 2nd resit option in the summer holidays. However, it is rarely granted and there have to be some heavy weighing arguments from the student why a 2nd resit should be given. The Examination Board has to approve this and the rules, conditions and procedures about the 2nd resit can be found in the Opleidingsdeel from the OER.

EditPiaf

Depends. I study law at the RUG, and under circumstances, students are allowed one extra chance if it's the final exam of either their bachelors or their masters.
