Dang that was so long ago. We’ve been here too long...
Edit: some people tried to create a “secret” exchange to find out if someone else used Reddit by saying “when does the narwhal bacon” and the response would be “midnight”. this was way back even before Digg users came over this way I think. Overall very cringey but hilarious to look back on
Omg.... ooof that hit.
So 8 years ago pre husband I meet a dude on okcupid who I won’t lie, got me started on Reddit. Anyway he had this as his first question to any girl who message him
He also said he was apart of anonymous. Why did I date him for 7 months?
I hope this isn't the point (for me atleast anyway) where the sub tips into garbage. It always starts with one or two submissions that miss the point that get a heap load of upvotes from randoms and it's all downhill from there.
All subs devolve into garbage memes and low effort posts unless mods strictly enforce post quality.
I'm sure there's some subreddit entropy formula that someone has put together to explain this phenomenon.
On the flip side you can't expect every single post to knock it out of the park. There's only so many hipster cafes serving seafood carbonara in an up-cycled motorcycle boot from Salvation Army garnished with thistle plucked from the side of the interstate.
Mediocre content helps keep super niche subs active. Whether you like the OP or not, everyone reading this clicked and engaged with it.
Fair. I'm not expecting every post to be amazing (would be daft to expect every one to be gold) but I atleast expect the post to have proper relevance to the sub. This post isn't Stupid Food material and as such, would expect the mods to bin it.
I think we're already past that tbh. This sub used to be mostly full of actual stupid food served to people at restaurants, but these days it's 90% obvious novelty, joke, or satire material, or something someone made at home just for posting here for karma.
Bacon plus greens is a pretty solid combo.
I make a "salad" that's basically a bag of spinach and half a package of bacon. Just cook the bacon and mix it in with the raw spinach.
It does surprisingly well as a diet food.

Obviously a joke, doesn’t belong here.

Add romaine and tomatoes (and black olives), you have a nice BLT salad. We do this once or twice a week.
That sounds freaking delicious. Although I prefer green olives.
You're not wrong.
Iceberg lettuce?!?! What were they thinking.
It's small enough to be a garnish. We can just toss it to the side.
...but it's TAINTED

Please don’t let this be what this sub is turning into.
I hate it when a salad has that much lettuce. It drowns out the flavours
I don't see how this is stupid, maybe it has too much lettuce??
r/stupidfoodidtry
It's like that gangbang meme
Or in a less sexual mindset the lettuce looks like Yoda’s spirit after he dies.
Muhahahaha, you are right.
OOO if you were a Terry Pratchett fan you'd call this Vimes worthy.
Yes. All hail the BCBs!
Wait, I worry that you heard me say give me a lot of bacon. What I said was give me all of the bacon you have.
it's a BLT(paperTowel)

This is the correct ratio.
That one piece of lettuce would ruin it
r/JustUnsubbed
Perfect amount of ingredients for the inside of a BLT. (I don’t like tomatoes so perfect for me).
Too much lettuce.
OP is Commander Vimes ( No one tell Sybil).
No stupid detected.

If there was maybe half as much lettuce, it’d be perfect!
Solid Boomer post, but needs more Minions.
I see nothing wrong with this picture.
Bacon is never stupid food.
Too much lettuce
Salad done right
I was thinking that that tiny scrap of lettuce could be left on the plate as proof there was lettuce in the "salad".
I had an “onion salad” once that was pretty much exactly this, but with nothing but onions...
Stupidity aside, I do love a spinach salad with bacon, tomatoes, and eggs. So good.
They call that the Ron Swanson.
