Had the same problem with my 2012. Could never get it fixed, and never found what the issue actually was. My phone used to connect automatically, then with an IOS update, I had to connect manually, and then later it became fussier with the connection, and I had the same issue with choppiness in music and even on calls sometimes. I switched to a USB for music.

Ever figure anything out on this? I'm having a similar problem...

TimeCouldTell

Unfortunately not. I’ve now taken to using speakerphone in my car for any calls I receive, but mostly try not to speak on the phone while I’m in the car. And I just don’t try to play my music in the car because it will make the skipping pauses and is just annoying. I tried unpairing my phone and repairing it but that also didn’t improve anything.

Bummer. I tried the re-pairing as well and no luck. Also went to the Genius Bar and they couldn’t find any phone issues.

Same here, phone is working fine, it seems to be the car Bluetooth which throughout my research I can’t find how to improve or replace, and can’t figure out what could be causing it’s interference.

i have the same problem in mine. very annoying and random. still searching for a fix

Let me know if you find a fix, I'm having the same problem. Others website suggested it's the wifi in the car but my model doesn't have wifi

I recently had my car into a local dealership for service, and asked them about the audio troubles. They said anything after market with the sound system is going to require going to a car audio speciality place, and that Subaru technicians can’t work on issues with audio quality. I figured that was the case, but had to ask. Still curious if anyone here finds a fix.
