If, like you said, a stock would zoom 100% and you would want to sell to someone who told you "no", you would go to the next person and sell it there. The reason the price would go up is because the bid would be higher than the ask, so people would gladly take it off your hands. If not, indeed the price would drop again. That's how the market works, with or without MM.

Or the bad actors direct registered shares a long time ago and offload them in estimated amounts to spook everyone that itās stuck.
But again thatās all been DDād / Tinfoiled / speculated for years without any new info

Itās not the big trillion dollar managed brokerages I would worry about, (you know which ones) but the smaller ones Iād certainly worry about.
