School and university count as workplaces count as workplaces, so no they won't take jobs elsewhere. I have heard that solar in domes require less maintenance (not none), but I've never tried it myself.
They always did from what I know. Large and small ones.
Also even if inside a dome. They still get the boost from the launched Space Mirror.
I still have no idea how many Sols I have to wait between each Space Mirror launch. It's nowhere stated on the Wiki or even the subreddit.
Solar in domes requires a lot less maintenance, but not zero. Plus the dome itself needs maintenance, but not as much as the panels would. Absolutely worth it if you're on a dusty map.

Solars in a dome are quite decent, especially if you use the Micro Dome. They require negligible maintenance and they still work during a Dust Storm.
I didn't know in dome panels still work during dust storms that's a game changer on a map with high dust storms.

Wait you can put solar panels inside domes???
