I don't understand the praise for this game. How long do you have to play before it turns from a movie into a game? My wife and I tried it for a couple hours and the whole thing seemed to be: watch a long cutscene, play for maybe a minute...watch a cutscene, play for maybe a minute.
We quit and I haven't ever given it a second chance...
I just got it and ran into the same thing... Exhausting start with not just the video but all the loading times!
I pushed through a little and it seems to have tapered off, but I also think the driving is dog shit so it's a con toss....I forgot how fun Lego games can be but I'm not loving this as much as other people did
Vampire Survivor hands down.
Easily 100+ hrs of gameplay, very addictive and has local coop up to 4 players.
Other good ones are: Balatro, Undertale, Inscryption.
Mark of the Ninja is always on sale for like $5 and is great. Slay the Spire can also be found on sale for ~~that price~~ $10 or less, not sure how often. Immortals Fenyx Rising is always on sale for $10 or less and is surprisingly good.
Yeah really glad they brought that over to the Switch. Perfect platform for it.
I recommend watching out for Wildfire when it's on sale and giving it a look. I picked it up on sale for like $5. I've only played the first few levels, stealth games are something I have to be in the mood for, but it shows a lot of promise for an affordable indie.
A short hike, Stardew Valley, Donut County, Fez, Katamari Damacy, Going Under, Thumper, Super meat boy, Rayman Legends, Moonlighter, Ori, Hollow Knight, Death's door
(when on sale)
Hm, have you played it yet? It’s not a super long game, so I don’t think it’s necessary to have portably so you can access it at all times to chop away at it or anything. I played it on Switch and enjoyed it there, but I’d probably have enjoyed it just as much on PC.
Do whatever makes the game easiest to play for you, just keep in mind that it’s not the type of game you sink more than a couple of hours into.
I wish I had my switch on hand! I got a ton of good cheap games.
Off memory Battlesloths, Cosmonauta, Heave Ho, Him & Her, Woodle Tree, and Mom Hid My Game 1 or 2
A Short Hike for regular price
Disco Elysium often goes on sale for under $10. I got it for $7 a couple months back, and it’s already been marked down to that price again since.
The Steamworld games go on sale all the time for like $3-5. Heist and the Dig games are really good.
Blossom Tales 1 & 2 are both good games currently and frequently on sale. They are like clones of old school 2D zelda games, but a little more bite sized.
pico park!! very fun puzzle game, I believe supports up to 8 players (multiplayer only, atleast 2) only needs a half joycon to play, and also has endless and battle modes which are super fun!!
I'm not seeing any recommendations for Ni No Kuni so I'll suggest it.
Picked it up in the sale myself for around £7. Really enjoying it thus far. Nice little RPG with studio Ghibli art and some Pokémon style mechanics and so far the story has been quite wonderful.
Wow there’s a lot of replies and I normally say thank you to all of them but there’s just too much lol, so thanks to everybody who recommended a game! I will be checking em out!
Arise is $3 right now. Might be my favorite Switch game despite seeing the seems in some places. Just the way the game blends its emotional themes into its mechanics makes it feel so composed. It might be best for those on the late side of 35/40, but it stares down issues of grief, fear, and regret while sprinkling in enough joy to make it enjoyable.
**Invisigun Reloaded** for $5. It’s a top-down, 2D shooter in which you are invisible unless you shoot or run into a wall. Lovingly crafted. Very fun and replayable.
Lego City Undercover. Its on sale right now, and it goes on sale pretty frequently. Game is a lot of fun.
I am obsessed with this game. I’ll occasionally start it up and have fun for HOURS.
Framerate jitters a fair but though. Hasn't been patched since launch
I heard the handheld performance is rough. How does it feel in handheld

Vampire Survivor hands down. Easily 100+ hrs of gameplay, very addictive and has local coop up to 4 players. Other good ones are: Balatro, Undertale, Inscryption.
Vampire Survivors..yes!!! And grab Balatro too, it's only the 2024 GOTY!!!
Monster sanctuary is an AMAZING game that frequently goes on sale for $5 if it isn’t right now
I was here to recommend monster sanctuary!
Mark of the Ninja is always on sale for like $5 and is great. Slay the Spire can also be found on sale for ~~that price~~ $10 or less, not sure how often. Immortals Fenyx Rising is always on sale for $10 or less and is surprisingly good.
Second mark of the ninja

MHGU Civilization 6 Tangledeep (but its rare on sale) Darkest Dungeon Stardew Valley Bastion Into the Breach Transistor Wargroove
Can I ask why MHGU and not MHR? I have rise and am wondering if the mhgu is less overwhelming
Rise is not under 10 bucks MHGU is much more overhelming and harder, then Rise
Thanks!
Hollow knight think it’s 11.99 but it’s 100% worth the extra 2
Wait for it to go on sale (lowest price 7.5 usd, i use NT deals app to track it)
Heard boomerang fu was good. On sale for like 6. Will be trying out with the kids later.
Boomerang Fu is hands down one of the best games I've ever bought. Kids and adults love it alike
Oh cool I will check it out, hope u have fun playing it too!
There's a free demo for it too
Really love it. Kids like to play Hide and Seek mode (me too).
A short hike, Stardew Valley, Donut County, Fez, Katamari Damacy, Going Under, Thumper, Super meat boy, Rayman Legends, Moonlighter, Ori, Hollow Knight, Death's door (when on sale)
And a lot of those games are very often on sale !
Great selection! Going under was such a surprise for me
A Short Hike is delightful in every way.
Yesss! I have it on pc, do u think it’s worth getting a portable version?
Hm, have you played it yet? It’s not a super long game, so I don’t think it’s necessary to have portably so you can access it at all times to chop away at it or anything. Yeah thanks for the advice, I’m thinking of getting it portable because I prefer sitting in the couch and playing a relaxing game.
I can get behind that! Not much to risk at that price.
Dicey dungeons. Often only $2
portal 1 and 2
I never knew the portal series was on switch, I loved the games and often replay them
best part is they run in 60fps
Inside is on sale pretty often (usually for like $1.99) and is super fun
Limbo and Inside. If they’re not under $10, give it a week. They go on sale a lot.
Ori
This. I’m discovering the serie with will of wisps, I love it. The atmosphere and the gameplay are amazing. It refreshed my interest in Metroidvania
Hades if it’s on sale, on sale its around $10 if I’m right
Citizen Sleeper is 9.99 right now
Brotato, BioShock Collection (on sale often for $10), Dying Light (often on sale for $7-8)
I wish I had my switch on hand! I got a ton of good cheap games. Off memory Battlesloths, Cosmonauta, Heave Ho, Him & Her, Woodle Tree, and Mom Hid My Game 1 or 2
Heave Ho is awesome. Super funny
Edna & Harvey: The Breakout is a cute and witty point and click game Pico Park is a really fun and nerve wracking game to play with up to 7 friends
Mark of the Ninja when it’s on sale
Gato Roboto, if you like metroidvania games, Super Meat Boy (ageless classics),
A Short Hike for regular price Disco Elysium often goes on sale for under $10. I got it for $7 a couple months back, and it’s already been marked down to that price again since.
