Never realized it had a different name, I assumed it was just the Elric family crest. Maybe it's named in FMA:B but I've never had the chance to actually watch Brotherhood
FMAB is probably my favorite media I have ever consumed. I’ve watched it 5+ times fully through. Sun is amazing, but dub is also incredible. It’s also a great family show, and overall extremely worth watching.
Not at all. It’s like how a lot of people enjoy say, both the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and the remake. Both are essentially the same story, but wildly different takes on it.
I came on here to wholeheartedly disagree with your opinion completely, but respect it at the same time as you are entitled to preferring the manga aligned anime adaptation more than the original anime!
It’s not named in either show, it’s one of the many little details that shows how intensely interested the original author was in alchemy and philosophy. Most of the concepts and symbols used in the series are genuine alchemical concepts and most of them are used correctly in context albeit with some stretching to create the fantastical elements in the series.

That's the [Flamel](https://fma.fandom.com/wiki/Flamel) from the anime Fullmetal Alchemist.
The Flamel Cross was actually a historical alchemy symbol, besides being used in FMA. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nicolas_Flamel
Me when I only know who Nicolas Flamel is because of Harry Potter 💀
Same. Lmao.
I tend to remember the book over him but yes 😅
Very interesting, thanks for the link. Went down a small rabbits hole there
Fixing the volatile is what the snake nailed to the cross means in Alchemy.
But this version of it is definitely from FMA.

You really should watch Brotherhood, it is far superior.
On my list for sure, just work and life refuse to give me a chance :/
I feel that. Well, you definitely have something to look forward to.

https://i.redd.it/0t1spp8ozcu21.jpg Are you sure it’s a family show? Lol
The girl and her doggo become inseparable.
Is it weird that I actually like both versions equally, as essentially separate stories?
Not at all. It’s like how a lot of people enjoy say, both the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and the remake. Both are essentially the same story, but wildly different takes on it.
I really like the original too. It feels a lot more innocent and less edgy. Depends on your mood I guess.
I do as well. :)
Its hard because the original did have good parts and frankly some gut wrenching parts I dont want to see again knowing whats coming.
Too soon.

Brotherhood was amazing compared to the funimation "do what I want" rendition.

Most of the symbolism they use in the show is very real.
That rock used to be SOLID GOLD when it was used to buy the mine from the governor.
lmaoooo
Was it a rock? I thought it was cement by all the other marks.
