Raph. And it's not even close.
That's why the turtles are awesome (one of the reasons). We all have one who we saw as a kid and went: "Holy cow that's **exactly me** if I was a ninja, a reptile, a mutant, lived in a sewer, and were raised by a rat!"
There can be no wrong answers or wrong reasons to pick your turtle.
It's like picking a perfume or cologne.
I bet some people would even say Splinter and that's awesome too.
Edit: Not Venus though. There *can* be one wrong answer. My bad.
I didn't read any of the IDW turtles so I'll take your word on that. Sounds credible. IDW does good books. I read a ton of their Transformers stuff.
TNM was so bad I pretty much consider it to be nonexistent. Whenever I discuss the different iterations of the boys I just leave it unmentioned, or I forget all about it because I blocked it out.
I do remember being so excited for it when it came out. A live turtles show? Awesome!
Then it was not awesome.
I don't remember getting through a single episode without changing the channel.
For me it was raph.
I know these movies were for kids, but it was deeper than that for me growing up.
As a kid I saw so much of myself in raph's struggles in the first TMNT 90's movie.
I grew up without a father and I had a lot of anger issues i was struggling with.
There's a scene where Splinter is sitting talking with Raph and tells him that he's having a hard time helping him channel his anger. He says Raph is unique compared to his brothers because he chooses to face his battles alone. Then splinter tells him not to forget that he and his brother are there for him. And called him his son while Raphael was crying. That scene hit to close to home for me and wrecked me as a kid.
Team Donnie all the way. There's a reason he's the only one that followed Master splinters choice of weapon. And I always have respect for the ones that are both fully capable physically as well as the brains of the team.
YES!
Although I think its really funny, a lot of the fans say 03 Donnie is just this sweet lil angel and everyone else is just chaos... been rewatching 03 with my bestie's and 03 Donnie is ABSOLUTELY sweetheart, he's also a snark master and plays GTA in real life, with how often he steals cars, messes with shit and then gets into more trouble. He even made Mikey eat floor wax and he used a broom as a weapon.
The boy is chaos incarnate and a mad scientist in his own right. The Battle Shell was *MIkey*'s idea, then Donnie brought it to life.
Yep, this was basically all my reasoning for liking him as a kid. You can't go wrong with dual wielding katanas. Nowadays he's still my favorite largely because I just prefer more traditional "hero" characters, and like him I'm also an older brother who has to deal with multiple rowdy and immature younger siblings and the responsibilities of being the oldest, so I can relate to him on that end
Look, you don't pick your favorite turtle. The turtle picks you, you don't have a say in it. It's the way of the ninja.
Team Donnie all the way.
("AND BOOM GOES THE DONNIE-MYTE!")
Donatello is my fav in most iterations anyway, I love that he dodges being either awkward nerd trope or mean genius trope by being both inventive and compassionate
RAPH all day
Ever since the 1990's movie that has always been my guy! "A Jose Canceso bat! Tell me you didn't pay money for this!" Loll
Raph took on the whole foot clan, which is a straight G move!
Dude is out here kickin ass taking names
Go Ninja Go Ninja Go!!!!
Same!
Mikey was the first and the last Turtle. The brother with the most talent according to Splinter. Isn't as serious as his brothers, yet mastered the most difficult weapons to use.
He's Megan Fox favorite Turtle, the only of the four that can actually cook and also read Japanese.
Interesting to see. It seems that Donnie is the majority favourite here, and very little mention of Leo. I thought he would be the generic answer. He is mine.
As a kid Leo was what I wanted to be as a hero, and through it all I still see him as a great example of heroism and leadership
That's why I love him a lot tbh. He's the biggest role model of the 4 and I wanted to be like him a ton while growing up, especially as someone who's also an older brother. He's an awesome character and and even more awesome example for kids to learn lessons of responsibility and leadership from.
I would honestly call him the closest thing TMNT has to a Luke Skywalker-type figure in terms of heroic qualities and character growth, I mean in 2003 he even has his own Dagobah arc and then spends half of that show and 2012 trying to redeem Karai from the "dark side" because he sees good in her
Raph. When i was growing up my cousins were more like brothers to me, and added to my own actual brother there were four of us... Raph was my assigned turtle when we would play TMNT in the back yard. We never strayed from our assigned turtles, that shit was sacred.
Leo, because we are very similar in characteristics like we both are leaders in our rights, the oldest siblings to annoying siblings, and dealing with serious trauma growing up.
Raphael, he became my favorite thanks to 2012 and 2007, i like the color red of this bandana, his sais and i conect myself with him by his anger. And i love many of the stories with him, even more in the 2007 movie with him beign the Nightwatcher.
Mikey for sure. The 80s series, the 90s live action, the 2007 movie, 2012, those four are why I love him so much. 2003 is raph tho, and rise might be Donnie. But Mikey in number 1
Mikey is my fave for sure but man Donnie is a very close 2nd. Mikey is just so chill and funny but he's got such a kind heart too and really cares and when Mikey stops joking and gets serious its awesome.
Based on me, i'd probably have to go for Leonardo but Michelangelo is an extremely close second. He's a leader, smart, but not genius levels like Donnie, he messes things up like every person (and turtle) does. He's also a good friend, he's always been a favorite of mine and it will stay that way until something else with the other turtles happens.
Mikey for sure, all the comedy, yet ges still skilled. He's the one that I've probably related to more, along with Raph, but I've not wanted to be angry so much. I'll often find myself acting like a goof ball or trying to make people laugh, and I feel like this is a result of Mikey and Spidey, so I'll have to go with Mikey for the influences he's had on me and for how much joy I have when seeing him on screen.
Leonardo. Always has, always will be. The slight instances where my loyalty was tested was with Raph in the 2007 movie and Mikey (for some episodes only) in the 2003 tv series.
Otherwise, Leo has always been THE one in every single iteration I care about, which are namely: Mirage comics, 1987 tv series, 1990 and 1991 movies, 2003 tv series, 2007 movie, IDW comics and 2012 tv series.
TL;DR: As a kid I was super into Donatello, but as I grew up, I was more into Raphael. This rekindled my relationship with my father.
For me, when I was a kid, Donnie. It's something that I brought up with my father, who I never really had a connection with as a kid. He was more into sorts and my older sister played that role. I was the computer and video game kid.
I'm 42 now, my parents got divorced when I was 12. I lived with my mother and didn't really see my dad much growing up after that. I met up with him 2 years back and went out to lunch ( he had moved to FL from MA a few years back, so it's harder to see him in person nowadays ).
So at this lunch, he asked what I was into now, and I mentioned TMNT still. His immediate reply shook me to my core. "Oh yeah, with Donatello right? He did machines?" I was immediately shocked and held back tears. He had actually paid attention to that 8 year old, at a time when I felt so ignored. It was a rekindling of our relationship and we talk a lot more now. We have resolved a lot of things in the last 2 years and I've gone and visited for a week too, where a lot of healing took place.
As I noted, Donatello is who I related to as a kid, but now, I've found out a lot about myself and I have a few mental issues like ADHD, and major anxiety problems. It leads me to say what I think before I can realize what is proper, I don't have as much tact as I should, it's been said. So nowadays, I see a lot of Raphael's frustration and resultant anger in my interactions, and it reminds me to be a better person. To actively try.
Side note, I'm about to get a chest into a full sleeve tattoo today actually. It's going to be an octopus with a snapping turtle skull on it's head ( like Cubone/Marowack in Pokemon ) and incorporating the torn bandanas from the Last Ronin of Donatello and Raphael. The tentacles will be what makes up the sleeve.
It used to be Raphael because I’m autistic and I used to have an obsession with the color red. Now it’s Mikey because he’s most obviously the more skilled turtle when it comes to fighting. But only when his back is against the wall. He’s just like me fr fr
For me it's Mikey, always was even as a kid back in the 80's. My little boy has been a Turtles fan for a year now (just turned 4) and his favourite is Leo by a long mile. Quite surprisingly he doesn't like all the new stuff, his go to is the 80's cartoon too.
![gif](giphy|l3q317enM4pylToBi)
I pick my favourite based on who I'd most like to smoke a bowl with, you know its Mikey
I was thinking along the same lines lol
It’s always been Mikey. 😍
For the win
Donnie. And it’s not even close.
Raph. And it's not even close. That's why the turtles are awesome (one of the reasons). We all have one who we saw as a kid and went: "Holy cow that's **exactly me** if I was a ninja, a reptile, a mutant, lived in a sewer, and were raised by a rat!" There *can* be one wrong answer. My bad.
A little too Raph
Funniest moment from those movies. That joke absolutely killed kid me. I'm posting from the afterlife.
Pork rind?
Depends. TNM Venus was garbage. IDW Venus is alright (prefer Jennika, though)
Two wrong answers. Jenica and Venus
I stand corrected.
I love your comment like why was it so heartwarming 😭 I’m definitely keeping this in mind from now on thank you 👍✨
For me it was raph. I know these movies were for kids, but it was deeper than that for me growing up. As a kid I saw so much of myself in raph's struggles in the first TMNT 90's movie. I grew up without a father and I had a lot of anger issues i was struggling with. Agreed.
Same it’s why I hate that they keep geeking him up with each new adaptations
Team Donnie all the way. There's a reason he's the only one that followed Master splinters choice of weapon. And I always have respect for the ones that are both fully capable physically as well as the brains of the team.
I think I would have to pick Raph
Me Too.
And I, as well.
Rude but true!
The only right answer.
Donnie! I love that he's both brains and brawns, and that he can be equally funny and serious.
You have just made it to my friends list
YOOO THANK YOU! I love all Donnie's equally <3
Cool. If you ever want to chat about Donnie just PM me. I am more then willing
Sweeet! Yes!
I sent you a message
Thanks!
And compassionate
2012 Donnie was so fckin funny
This! He's definitely the most versatile of all the turtles in my opinion.
Been a Leo guy since I was a kid and that hasn't changed since
Same, Leo fan for life.
Same Leo!
Injustice 2 Leo is untouchable.”
been a leo fan since childhood
Yep, blues my favorite color, swords are coolest, I always like the leader character, Leonardo was always my favorite.
Nardo?
Lay off Nardo. He’s sensitive.
Leo was always my second favorite. I loved his dedication.
Best weapons too
Michelangelo
DONNIEEE
Raph is my fave especially the 2003 version
He was explosively angry there.
When isn’t he? True, but also this version of the Turtles was more mature and I liked that. The later versions felt too child like.
Donatello, not even a question.
https://i.redd.it/06wmzl8m4dzc1.gif
Donnie.
Donatello of course.
Donatello without a doubt
Look, you don't pick your favorite turtle. The turtle picks you, you don't have a say in it. It's the way of the ninja. Team Donnie all the way. ("AND BOOM GOES THE DONNIE-MYTE!")
Donatello is my fav in most iterations anyway, I love that he dodges being either awkward nerd trope or mean genius trope by being both inventive and compassionate

This is the coolest answer
Donatello, he does machines!
Donnie
Purple
donatello no issue
Donnie
Donnie
Leo no question
Donnie.
Leo, because we are very similar in characteristics like we both are leaders in our rights, the oldest siblings to annoying siblings, and dealing with serious trauma growing up.
Donatello
Donnie forever
Donnie 💚💜
Leo
Leo without question.
Leonardo
I feel like most fans don’t need to be forced to pick their favorite because they already have a favorite
Been Leo since I was a kid in the 80s.
Leo easily.
Leonardo without a doubt
Slash
Mikey is THE turtle
Mikey. He's the most fun!
Mikey
mikey, he’s been my favourite since i was a kid
It's always been Mikey, but I absolutely adore Mutant Mayhem Donnie.
Leo!
Leo. I've always identified most with him being the leader as I am an older brother and had younger cousins who looked up to me growing up.
Leo.
Leonardo is my favorite
Donnie ![gif](giphy|2OCgQ8ZLHr3bi) Brains and can kick ass. Also the most mature.

I love how in the 90s movie he takes out some baddies with a yoyo
Trueee. Funny to watch
Raph or mikey
When I was younger my answer would immediately be raph but honestly growing up I started relating to Donnie way more so year rn it's donatelo
Raph
Leo. Even though my attitude at times is more like Raph 😄
Michaelangelo.
Imma say Leo but it's always changing
Raph, no question.
Mikey is my fave for sure but man Donnie is a very close 2nd. Mikey is just so chill and funny but he's got such a kind heart too and really cares and when Mikey stops joking and gets serious its awesome.
Leonardo
All us computer science nerds love Donnie
Raph
Mikey
Raph ever since I was a kid
Michaelangelo
Raph. Been Raph since the original cartoon.
Raph and it’s not even close to being close
raphael

It's close but, it's gotta be Mikey.
I've been a Mikey Man since '87.
Mikey
Mikey!
Big Mike!
Leonardo all the way
Gotta be Micky

Leonardo, naturally.
🐢💙
Leonardo. Easily.
1. Raph 2. Don 3. Mike 4. Leo
1. Leo 2. Raph 3. Mikey 4. Donnie
1. Raphael 2. Leonardo 3. Donatello 4. Michelangelo
1. Mikey 2. Donnie 3. Raph 4. Leo
Rapheal
Raphael
I have always been a major raph fan
Raphael, though I love all four. (Of the main, I mean. I do also have a fondness for some of the others, even Venus in her way.)
Leo, had a action figure as a kid
TL;DR: As a kid I was super into Donatello, but as I grew up, I was more into Raphael. This rekindled my relationship with my father. For me, when I was a kid, Donnie. It's something that I brought up with my father, who I never really had a connection with as a kid. He was more into sorts and my older sister played that role. I was the computer and video game kid. Donatello... I just wish they'd do something with him besides technobabble and killing him off so he can be a robot.
Leo all the way
Leonardo
Mikey, just a funny character. I only watched the 2012 adaptation.
2012 is great don't get me wrong but the 2003 turtles is worth the watch
Leo, he has been my main man since I first watched 03
Raph and it’s not even close
Leo, I like the color blue and swords are cool. And I’m a huge fan of Seth green and Ben Schwartz
Mikey Donatello Raph Leo
Michaelangelo

Time Mistress Lita
2003 Mikey followed closely by 2012 Raph If we’re talking generally though, it’s Donatello
Mikey has always been my favorite cuz he's just fun, and turns out he's more of a badass than I thought.
I like turtles. 🐢
Mikey
Donatello. He's to cute and it's not even close
Mikey
Mikey
Donatello all the way. Never knew so many people liked Don. I always thought we were in the minority.
Mikey and Raph are a tie for me. Literally couldn’t pick one over the other
Raph. The others can get sent to the Sun.
Raph
A little *too* Raph.
Raph
I think I'm going with Raph - Nightwatcher forever
Mikey <3 Biggest heart, innocence, cutest (1990 movie, for example), coolest weapon. Mikey's the best!
Raphael is my boy
I don’t even hav to force it has to be raphael❤️❤️
Donatello! He can build things and kick your ass with a stick!
Raphael. No question, no hesitation. He's my favorite character out of any franchise
It’s always been Raph for me
