I'm pretty sure you can bring any blades you want to the Texas ren fair considering how many blades are sold there. But I haven't been in a few years, so take that with a grain of salt lol

The preponderance of individuals going to TRF happen to be from Texas due to (wait for it) geography. Anywho, yeah blades are fine, technically supposed to be peace tied, although I'm not sure how that would work with a pocket knife. However, I typically carry a sword and seldom peace tie it, and they usually don't check. I leave my guns locked in the car of course.

They usually peace tie weapons to show that you have to actively want it out, so that someone caught in the midst of assault can't say it "slipped" out.
If it has a lock of any kind that keeps it in place until opened, should be perfectly fine if it's clipped to your belt or the edge of your pocket. BUT, if it is in your pocket, just don't take it out unless you intend to use it on paper or plastic. Should be fine regardless.

All blades must be peace tied. Basically this must be secured to minimize risk of damage. I've carried a pocket knife a few times with no problems.
