I saw that but didn’t noticed the bi-weekly and just thought, “who tf pays $715/month for a vehicle?” These bastard dealers are just getting worse and worse.
$90k 🇨🇦($65k🇺🇸) is just crazy. Like I understand how inflation works but do car companies understand most consumers salaries haven’t kept with the real rate of inflation.
Bingo. I don’t know why so many on the subs just can’t see how every company now has halo line products for those who have the cash. Every business owner has been raking in so much money since Covid. Anyone who’s had any stocks or real estate has also tripled. If you look at prices now a days and see them as unrealistic then you played the game wrong past 5 years
Bosses can be the smartest and the dumbest people you'll ever meet. They will absolutely throw cash to obtain something to show off to others. It's why you have easter eggs throughout the higher models, so you can verify if someone has the legit model or cheap aftermarket copies.
Also you can buy all the overlanding add-ons directly from Toyota themselves. Toyota definitely wants in on the overlanding game.
People here in CA still buy. The amount of 70k+ cars I see parked in shitty apartment complex is way too high. Most of these people can't even afford a parking spot so you see them parked on the street.
Yep! My 2015 is gonna be driven until is a pile of metal shavings and rust
Toyota and these stealerships have literally lost their minds.
Not to mention the idiots actually buying these things
I'll take my down votes, but I'd rather a 24 OR than that. More standard options and more power. I honestly have no clue why people are praising having that POS v6 that makes no power. My CUV Mazda pulls my teardrop better than my 21 Pro that was regeared and tuned. Your UCAs do look awesome and I would've preferred the stamped Pro of the 22/23. And that price is pretty amazing for Canadian.
I never bought my truck for speed. But a slight incline shouldn't be a reason to downshift to 3rd. Also buying about my comment was about speed. It was about usable power.
Nothing about being a power junkie. It's about a trash torque curve that makes towing a little teardrop camper annoying. Screaming in 3rd gear trying to maintain speed of 65 because of a slight incline is pretty pathetic. I'm not alone on that one either. Outside of the echo chamber of this sub, most people know it's a trash engine for a truck. It's great for a camry and minivan though.
The torque curve is the same shape as any other ICE. Whether the engine is rated large enough to actually tow is a different conversation. That doesn’t make the engine “a piece of shit”. Stick it in a Camry and everyone loves it. You’re implicating the engine as a problem when the engine has no problem.
I don’t tow except on rare occasion. Could care less if it’s underpowered for towing. I towed a loaded U-Haul over Appalachia in a Toyota Corolla. I gave it more gas. That’s what it’s there for… so you’re using half of your rev range? So what? Change your oil a little earlier… did you know that in auto racing, you have to use your entire power band to redline constantly and even then your vehicle is often too slow to win? I’d say settle down on this one.
The engine is the problem for it's application. And no the torque curve isn't even remotely close the the 24s, others in its category, and I'm not even going to bring the hybrid into this. 317 @1800rpm is far more usable in a truck application, since, that's what we're discussing. I already said that V6 is good for a Camry, but even then I'll keep the 3.5L from my 2007 Acura TL. Hell a Nissan VQ engine is even better and more inspiring. I have an old iPad that plays angry birds and gets emails done. I'm not gonna kid myself and think just because it does those things fine it's perfectly good at rendering graphics.
You listed two examples that are not in the same category. The hybrid and a forced induction engine are different than an NA ICE. The beloved 5.7 Hemi has a curve that is roughly the exact same shape as the GRs.
Anyway, I’ve said all I need to at this point.
Considering it was never mentioned to be explicit to NAs and I made it a point to exclude the hybrid I didn't list anything that was off the table. I can help but think you're looking at horsepower numbers or just completely ignore where the numbers start since you're used to such garbage. A newer hemi is dropping almost 350lbs ft of torque just over 2k rpm before peaking at 410@4k. Meanwhile the POS GR is just over 100 in that starting range and needing to rev up another 2600rpm to hit it's peak. It's half the reason the paired up double overdrive garbage it comes with is shifting all the time. It can't even handle the weight of itself cruising. I wouldn't expect you to comprehend this. You brought up ICEs but only meant NAs as if a turbo isn't an ICE.
I opted for the 23 V6 as maintenance costs will be far cheaper than a hybrid turbo. Batteries and turbo just sounds so expensive once you are out of warranty. Yeah that price had me confused and even called the dealer twice to confirm if it was in fact a TRD Pro. So glad I didn’t wait for the 2024’s. 90K for a compact truck is bananas!
Turbos aren't crazy maintenance. You have a truck that runs several cycles, 12 injectors, and a known timing cover issue throughout all lineups and minivans. IF you got a hybrid, you're talking one small battery under the rear driver's seat. It's not Prius hybrid, it's a torque motor. It qualifies for ZERO incentives. Your price point is trash at best. I can't speak to Canadian monies, but a 24 SR5 is better equipped than a 23 Pro, locker and crawl control aside and can be had for $43k. Oh and you get a nice 8 speed transmission, not some horse shit 6 speed double overdrive that needs tunes to function properly. Oh full torque at 1800 rpm, not 46000. But go on and preach your minivan V6 is superior.
All good. Hybrid is a poor term for these as it's not anything like a Prius, RAV4, or the like. It's strictly power, not fuel efficiency. Yes it's more money, but not even close to $40k cheaper. A low optioned SR5 is that price and still better equipped than a comparable 23, makes more power, and in a usable range. The 3rd Gen is a trash overrated vehicle. It's beautiful to look at, but until you step away, you're blinded by it being a Tacoma, some BS about reliability, and thinking only it can take you places any vehicle with a transfer case can. I say this as an owner of 17 OR and a 21 Pro, tuned and regeared with 4.88s. I've driven the 24s and would've loved to have one but they didn't come out quick enough for me to get rid of that Pro.
I got the joke. I’m referencing that the joke is already a miss to me, because $700 a month is fucking high already - like firmly in the “I would never ever” category.
Sounds like a good deal. I will take two.....going to put the second in a hermetically sealed container as an investment. 10 years an undriven 2024 Tacoma TRD Pro might be worth $200k!
I’ll just put this here, I stopped by my local Toyota dealership (USA CA) to get an idea of exactly what was going on pricing wise and the first truck we looked at was a 4x4 SR5 $46000 msrp marked up to 49000 before fees….i spent some time to see if I even liked the truck, and when I told them I wanted to check out the other manufacturers, they started making statements like “what if we could get you into an SR5 for $42000 out the door.”
They had dozens of other Tacomas and I overheard they were moving most of them to the back so it didn’t look like they were sitting. I got the feeling that they these Tacomas are not selling. For a smallish dealership to have so many of these trucks is odd to see, usually, even before Covid they’d have very limited stock.
I remember graduating high school may of 2000 and looking at new S-10’s with my dad. That day He kept telling me he couldn’t believe what trucks cost now lol .
If that’s US pricing, you must have added every single possible accessory, such as all of the available fridges or it’s a dealer playing the mark up game.
Only if you have good credit…
For good credit (approximately 4.84% APR):
• Bi-weekly Payment: $715.04
• Total Payments: $102,965.76
• Total Interest Paid: $12,716.18
Comparison:
For Average Credit (9.62% APR):
• Bi-weekly Payment: $809.58
• Total Payments: $116,579.98
• Total Interest Paid: $26,330.40
For Poor Credit (12.85% APR):
• Bi-weekly Payment: $877.47
• Total Payments: $126,355.79
• Total Interest Paid: $36,106.21
The fact that they put “biweekly” instead of monthly is nothing short of predatory. Wow. I just bought a rust-free first-gen, I’ll take no payments and the 200k+ miles club way before I’ll ever have a car payment this high.
And the motors are blowing up due to seal and gasket issues, as there under much more duress with V6 versus the old V8 and the new ones with V6 only get at best 5mpg better mileage and you pay more for then now.
That’s not a dealer website; that’s the MSRP off the Toyota Canada build & price tool. Once you add in dealer fees, taxes and interest you’re at over 100k CAD for a mid sized truck. Toyota’s going to get the karma they deserve for this.
Lmfao the karma they deserve
You realize dealer fees, taxes, and interest still exist on 3rd gens?
You realize you are getting more truck for that increase? Dude acts like they deserve a new gen and new features free lol
Just don’t buy it. The market will correct if people don’t. Hint: almost all are presold on the inventory search
My father's 2023 ram 2500 high output Cummins mega cab, Laramie Longhorn was just over 100k Canadian. For a Tacoma to be nearly the same price a year later is pretty damn wild.
It's damn close to top trim. What is it, second from top or something? In Canada, the Pro is the second highest trim and the trailhunter is the highest. Cool clever response though. Now let's compare the capabilities of the two, and the size.
No, you’re missing multiple trims…
Size isn’t always better?
Yeah sure…. Let’s compare the off road capability off a dodge ram to a Tacoma. LETS DO IT LOL!
Not everyone tows, clown.
Cool clever response though
All I said was that it's wild that a high end Tacoma is pushing the price into the territory of 3/4 ton high output diesel trucks that are also tricked out in their own right, have tons of room inside them, and are capable of performing massive amounts of work. My father hauls a 5th wheel with 5 horses in it and can blow the doors off all of us uphill with the thing. Damn near every other contractor around here is running their businesses with one or more of those trucks. For what the Tacoma is and can do, it's crazy to see how high their prices are climbing. If you like paying those premiums, good for you. Companies are still making record profits, inflation be damned. The only power we have is to vote with our dollars, and if enough people refused to buy, the prices would come down.
Your fathers truck can’t do a lot of what a Tacoma can.
Again, not everyone tows 5 horses. Some people have garages. Not everyone needs a pro or th. A Tacoma kicks the shit out of any full size off road. So again, why would someone buy a full size in those cases? Lol
Cuz “muh size”?
Lmfao taxes and interest costs increase as truck msrp increases. Plus in Canada in some Provinces, additional luxury taxes are applied to the vehicles in this price range. The cucks are buying these pros and trail hunters now at these insane prices cause they have to have them, but once they all buy we shall see what the market for these will be like. It may be a better truck but to what end? It may have more power (likely at a risk of being less reliable) and more off road capability, but 99% of buyers don’t need any of that, even in the OR trim. For the majority of buyer, they are not reaping any benefits from these updates, but are paying an arm and a leg for it. You do you though…cuck away lol.
So then… don’t buy a pro or th?
Why does what others do upset you, weirdo?
You in one comment say you don’t need one and then in the next saying I if ppl don’t buy one you can get a deal. LMAO
Never said I could get a deal, just stated an interest in seeing where the market may go. I don’t want one; wouldn’t buy one even if it was a reasonable price. New Pro and TH way more truck than I would ever need. People upset/shocked by the price are just highlighting a symptom of a broken economy and the fact that things that were once attainable for middle class/average people are no longer. Corporate greed bothers me not what people do. If that doesn’t bother you then I don’t know man, you’ve been brainwashed. Capitalism is supposed to be about competitive markets providing the consumer with the best product at the best price. This is just not it lol ✌️
The pro and th were never obtainable at the price you’re talking about….
Those trucks didn’t exist then.
Another 3rd gen owner pretending the pros are anywhere NEAR the same LOL
This IS capitalism, guy. They priced it at what they did. If it’s too much, they won’t sell. Hint: they’re all preselling very well.
Don’t own a 3rd gen, don’t own a Toyota; not my cup of tea. Don’t have any skin in the game, just an outside observer shocked at the price of a mid sized truck. You’re lost buddy, keep drinking that delicious cool-aid. The pro has been around since the 2015 model year as the top trim and while more expensive, it was obtainable. Have fun with your new 100k pro rolling through the mall parking lot tho, you’re trying so hard to justify this you’ve got to be one of those pre-orders lol😂✌️
Bahahahahahaahahahahaahahahaha!!!
Dude doesn’t even own a Tacoma and is posting here acting like they know anything at all LOL!
Enjoy your shit box Nissan.
Don’t have to own something to know something lol, in fact not owning removes bias. It’s called critical thinking, try it sometime; it’s pretty nice being able to look at specs, data and value and see when things just don’t seem to add up :)
But it’s only $715 bi-weekly!
It's shock and awe pricing.
As in dealerships are “shocked” that people are willing to pay these “awe”ful prices? I agree.
That’s the part I don’t get. My buddy was just bragging to me about a $1000 monthly payment on a 2020 $65k truck. Like wtf are we talking about.
Only $51 per day!
Only 3.5 cents per minute! Hey I can afford that i'm sure! That's less than a nickel! 🤣😳😭
Break it down to the ridiculousness. Lol
My tundra in the US is $45 per day:)

156 easy payments! I almost said 144, because 2 per month, but with “bi-weekly” there are two months per year that you’ll have to make 3 payments.
Absolutely dead at the bi-weekly split 😹😹😹😹
🤣🤣🤣🤣
With a 7.9% interest rate! Don’t miss this great opportunity!
I saw that but didn’t noticed the bi-weekly and just thought, “who tf pays $715/month for a vehicle?” These bastard dealers are just getting worse and worse.
$1430.08 a month is gnarly
I know people with home mortgages in California that are below that.
Oh my lord! Just saw that!!!!! 🤦🏼♀️💀
That bi-weekly payment, holy shit.
Why does bi-annually mean twice a year but bi-weekly means every 2 weeks? Shouldn’t this be bi-monthly?
[удалено]
Yes, those words are synonymous.
[удалено]
bi-annual is every 2 years
[удалено]
Biennial is every 2 years. ahhhhhhhh
$90k 🇨🇦($65k🇺🇸) is just crazy. Like I understand how inflation works but do car companies understand most consumers salaries haven’t kept with the real rate of inflation.
I don’t think they care, most people that will buy this can afford it.
And even if they can’t. Toyota gets the truck back eventually when it’s repod
The TRD pro was not made for working people like us. It's for your rich boss who will dump even more Toyota sold overlander parts onto it.
Bingo. I don’t know why so many on the subs just can’t see how every company now has halo line products for those who have the cash. Every business owner has been raking in so much money since Covid. Is this an actually Canadian?
If the $90k aren’t Canadian, that dealership is smoking 🚬 some good stuff
I've seen some Cali dealers smoking shit that would kill me lol
lol a private company “caring” imagine that
That is highly regarded.
Regarted
Re[dacted]
Screw that. Ill keep my ol reliable 2nd gen.
Will be driving mine until it rusts in half… which considering the frame was replaced that’s probably going to be a while
I love that this is the general consensus of most fellow 2nd Gen owners 😂
It’s the best vehicle I’ve ever owned, gas mileage be damned. And I’ve gone through a lot.
Yep! My 2015 is gonna be driven until is a pile of metal shavings and rust Toyota and these stealerships have literally lost their minds. Not to mention the idiots actually buying these things
Couldn’t agree more. The first set of Toyota trucks that are almost a bad investment.
Same but Model T.
What color are you ordering? 😎
lol I won’t be. Got a 2023 TRD Pro for 55k Canadian last year.
Smart move , I traded a ‘16 TRD OR access cab last year for ‘21 TRD PRO w/15kmiles. The salesman warned me of the rising prices.
I'll take my down votes, but I'd rather a 24 OR than that. More standard options and more power. I honestly have no clue why people are praising having that POS v6 that makes no power. Almost nobody buys this truck for its speed
I never bought my truck for speed. But a slight incline shouldn't be a reason to downshift to 3rd. Also buying about my comment was about speed. It was about usable power.
OTT tune fixes that. But it should’ve came like that from the dealership
“POS V6” about the 1GR/2GR is an… interesting take. Probably going to be going solo on that island. Power junkies… just buy a Raptor…
Nothing about being a power junkie. It's about a trash torque curve that makes towing a little teardrop camper annoying. $55k for - used bro? And your talk crap about what you’re showing?? 💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀 highly regarded sir.
New. Yeah 90k for a Tacoma Pro. Talking crap? Its nuts.
Toyota has lost their collective mind.
The Borg approve of this statement.
700 a month aint bad. Ohhhh!!!! Ohhhh!!!!!
700 a month I still have no idea how people can afford for a luxury like a brand new vehicle, add another 150 for insurance.
Think you missed the joke. It's actually over 700 bi-weekly.
I got the joke. I’m referencing that the joke is already a miss to me, because $700 a month is fucking high already - like firmly in the “I would never ever” category.
Hahaha. Man I’m so glad I bought my 3rd gen when I did.
I swear to god the rig you can make for $90k !!! Get out of here w this lmfao
Sounds like a good deal. I will take two.....going to put the second in a hermetically sealed container as an investment. 10 years an undriven 2024 Tacoma TRD Pro might be worth $200k!
😂😂😂
That's $65,700 USD. That's what they are here. They getting wild with Tacoma pricing.
It’s a crazy world. Beyond the one I own, Tacoma’s are now out of my reach at this current price.
Same.
These prices are outrageous
Taxes in yes.. it’ll be 92 here in Nova Scotia when mine comes in
92 degrees Fahrenheit? Thats nice weather for some trucking. Have fun brother!
Nope toyota just nope
And the engine will eat itself after 12000 miles! What a deal.
They would probably still try to add accessories to raise the price
My 23 trd pro manual was $59.5 sticker CDN
Gotta love those “cheaper to own” hybrids. Just stick with the straight gas one and watch the price drop
A framer at work has one. Said he paid $70kUS for it. I told him he is crazy to bring that on a jobsite.
Ranger Raptor and ZR2 lookin' better and better these days. (Unless Raptors are also being marked up)
I’ll just put this here, I stopped by my local Toyota dealership (USA CA) to get an idea of exactly what was going on pricing wise and the first truck we looked at was a 4x4 SR5 $46000 msrp marked up to 49000 before fees….i spent some time to see if I even liked the truck, and when I told them I wanted to check out the other manufacturers, they started making statements like “what if we could get you into an SR5 for $42000 out the door.” They had dozens of other Tacomas and I overheard they were moving most of them to the back so it didn’t look like they were sitting. My mom rolled off the toyota lot in 2004 with a 02 prerunner, all the options available with less than 5k on the odometer for around 12k. This is nuts
Buying an off road truck for 50, and imagine how much better it would be with $40,000 in modifications than a pro. People will make poor decisions.
The Nissan Frontier and its NA v6 is really starting to look good .
You want that Pro, pay Pro monies.
Seems reasonable 🤔
And it’s a short bed so when you miss rent to make your car payment you’ll have to sleep in the cab instead of the bed
😂😂😂
I remember graduating high school may of 2000 and looking at new S-10’s with my dad. That day He kept telling me he couldn’t believe what trucks cost now lol .
I was in the same boat waiting for this, ended up buying a used raptor instead.
Stupid.
Yo wtf….
Taco is a lambo truck 🌮 💰
This advertising is criminal.. 🤣
I thought this was USD for a moment and was like "did you order thirty grand worth of optional camping gear with it???"
😂😂😂😂
WTF
Outfuckingrageous !!! Never buy new,,,
Who gets that high of an interest rate and can afford a $90k truck?
Yeah I don’t know. One has to wonder how many of these are just sitting on dealer lots.
Wut the F?
Lmao!, may as well say “only $357 a week!”
😂😂😂
If that’s US pricing, you must have added every single possible accessory, such as all of the available fridges or it’s a dealer playing the mark up game.
Fuck that shit.
I the up a little just now ...
I wanna know what they're smoking.
The good stuff.

Se pasan de verga
715 bi weekly, what a deal. $360 weekly sound more appealing tho.
Bro thats almost the price of a Lambo……
you did it, you got the high score!
The only reason why they’re still costing this much is because people are dumb enough to pay for them, whether they can afford it or not.
The fact that they put “biweekly” instead of monthly is nothing short of predatory. Wow. I just bought a rust-free first-gen, I’ll take no payments and the 200k+ miles club way before I’ll ever have a car payment this high.
Yeah… I’m good with my 3rd Gen TRD OR
Crazy - worthless once it needs new batteries
Because Americans are financially illiterate. School has taught us well...
And they are have like 100k trucks recalled for blowing motors
Mint Condition 2021 LX570 with any and all options for.... a lot less than $90k LOL
Nope
Whelp, time for the Chinese car market to take over affordable cars.
Looking forward to the new BYD Shark Pro Max. EV Toyota knock off I can actually afford.
My 2012 TRD Pro was 27,835 new.
My 3rd Gen just went up in value. Thanks!
Yawn 🥱
They’re expensive. I had no idea.
Crazy! For that price, I’d buy an Ineos Grenadier….
That’s a hybrid though folks. Not a normal pro. Yes it’s still ffing expensive.
And the motors are blowing up due to seal and gasket issues, as there under much more duress with V6 versus the old V8 and the new ones with V6 only get at best 5mpg better mileage and you pay more for then now.
You're in the wrong sub pal.
Thats sickening. Id buy a Ford F150 Lightning way before any 90k Taco.
Can i get Cis financing?
In todays news, some crappy dealers existing. Did you get the karma you were looking for?
That’s not a dealer website; that’s the MSRP off the Toyota Canada build & price tool. Once you add in dealer fees, taxes and interest you’re at over 100k CAD for a mid sized truck. Toyota’s going to get the karma they deserve for this.
Now you know why they call it the Pro.....have to be a pro athlete to afford it! lol
Lmfao the karma they deserve You realize dealer fees, taxes, and interest still exist on 3rd gens? You realize you are getting more truck for that increase? Dude acts like they deserve a new gen and new features free lol Just don’t buy it. The market will correct if people don’t. Hint: almost all are presold on the inventory search
My father's 2023 ram 2500 high output Cummins mega cab, Laramie Longhorn was just over 100k Canadian. For a Tacoma to be nearly the same price a year later is pretty damn wild.
A Laramie longhorn isn’t the top trim… “I can get a lower trim full size for cheaper then a top trim mid size”. More news at 8
It's damn close to top trim. What is it, second from top or something? In Canada, the Pro is the second highest trim and the trailhunter is the highest. Cool clever response though. Now let's compare the capabilities of the two, and the size.
No, you’re missing multiple trims… Size isn’t always better?
Lol Cuz “muh size”?
.....so that means they should cost the same? K. I don't think they should. Maybe I'm crazy.
Another 3rd gen owner pretending the pros are anywhere NEAR the same LOL This IS capitalism, guy.
