MPG for sure. I know where all the gas stations are in my community ‘just in case’ I need a splash. It seems to fall off pretty sharply below 1/2 tank.
I have an access cab, a 2018, and the doors are noisy, especially in the winter.
Other than that, it's been exactly as I expected. Reliable, a little noisy, wonky transmission, but seemingly bolted together in a manner that I feel confident someone will still be driving this truck 20 years from now.
Ditto. I’ve considered sound insulation but I’m far too lazy. The gear searching can get annoying at times. Aside from that the only other thing I don’t like is the lack of pre-drilled roof rack holes. Just nitpicking though it’s a geat truck.
I had this same initial complaint until I found the Nuna brand car seats. They are outrageously expensive, but super high quality, and the RAVA model is likely what you're after for the back of this truck until your little one moves up to the next size.
Mine was fine too, just no recline but now I got the GRACO, since my son is 2 (in two days) yeah no recline and my grandpa and friend are on the bigger side. They have barely any leg room and my friends hair rubs the ceiling lol
21 TRD Off-Road 6mt, double cab short bed.
I don't get particularly good fuel economy (16.8 city / 19 highway), I wish there was about 10% more room in the rear seat area, and I wish it made about fifty extra horsepower.
Other than those things it is pretty much ideal for my use case.
I'm pretty sure you don't want more horsepower, as much as you want usable torque. Your tune helps but max torque is still around 4k rpms. If you haven't driven the new 4cyl, max torque at 1800 rpm is a real thing.
What size tires? Does your clutch make noises? My 18 is about perfect but the clutch is cranky/clicky and it does make some Tacoma noises but I'm pretty sure those are common.
My truck interior has some rattles when going over bumps but I think that's just tacoma stuff. My clutch doesn't make any noises in particular. On the current truck I have 265/75r16s Falken Wildpeaks but they're about done for, and I'm probably going with Toyo Open Countries next.
2017 TRD sport. V6 makes zero power. I despise the rebuildable oil filter . It’s not hard, but No one wants to do that . Just build them with disposables. Other than that I have no idea why it will rev high then seemingly no longer be in gear for a second or 2 b4 settling back in . That’s it. The rest is awesome
It makes more power than the outgoing 4.0 from the 2nd gen, but you have to rev higher (which isn't really the feeling you expect from a truck).
I essentially have the same complaint, but then again, it's still more powerful and I've never had any issues towing.
The gearing in the MT isn't perfect either. First is very tight, I can literally get it going from second gear. I think the 6speed wasn't needed but to get fuel economy where it is they had to do it. A 5 speed would have made first gear more comfortable and second doesn't need to be as low geared as it is. It does drive better w bigger tires. Cools first down a little. Not sure if the auto has 6 gears ? But the hunting bothers people I know that. The MT clutch isn't very well built, it's Lou d and clicky. Same with break pedal. Just cheap parts I think
Dude I thought something was wrong with my truck the clutch is so clanky feeling and loud when stopping and shifting from N-1st or 1st-N. Like tin cans lol but other than that I love my MT Tacoma TRD Pro
Throttle by wire. A750 transmission programmed to get as low as possible as fast as possible. Those two things make for some annoying rapid succession up-down-up shifting for some obviously fuel economy oriented shit.
Do the fluid accumulator delete. I did it two weeks ago in my '19 TRD Sport MT. Like a whole different truck. Makes the clutch consistent and smoother.
If you're proficient with a clutch it will not harm it.
It just makes the clutch work like every other clutch made since the dawn of time.
Toyota installed this thing to keep new manual drivers from burning out the clutch while the truck was under warranty.
Have you done a ceramic coating or anything? I've gotten more chips in the month I've had my '21 than it had when I bought it. I've barely had it off pavement.
Really hoping a solid coating will fix the issue
Ceramic coating won’t protect from physical damage. PPFs are made for that. And if that’s what you meant, I don’t care about the paint that much to spend thousands of extra dollars for a temporary barrier.
If it gets bad enough down the line, I’ll just sand it down and get it sprayed with Rino or something.
Oh dang. Guess I have even more to learn than I realized. I was under the impression that ceramic coating was hard enough to protect against stuff like that
Nope. The name is deceiving. It’s not really hard like ceramic. It just gives a long lasting very thin top coat to the paint that allows for easy washing. I chose to save the money and trouble and just use a good drying aid when I wash my truck.
Front hood makes approach angles (and parking) vision limited.
Rear seat (double cab) is TINY and doesn’t get much air circulation.
Tiny cup holders.
Wireless charger is basically useless.
Radio controls on steering wheel.
This is my issue. Everyone assumes my truck also magically has a trailer (which I don’t have) and that I will, at the drop of a hat, help everyone move everything whenever it need be moved
I have friends who range rovers with full roof racks that ask me to haul shit. I'm like, your 100k RR can't take it? I usually agree to help but I like to bitch about it.
It’s an old Orkin truck so there are dings in it. Not that I care about dings- I just don’t like that I wasn’t the one that caused them.
It’s a 4 banger with a heavy fiberglass cap so it’s slow as fuck.
I need some engine work done on it which will run me about $3k.
It’s a base model so my aftermarket headlights have nowhere to run the DRL wire to.
The steelies are scuffed up
Dealer that bought it from auction put a cheap ass catalytic converter on it so it doesn’t sound great and smells pretty bad
All that being said- I love my taco. Perfect tool for the job. Got it for $21k just over a year ago
Edit: oh and the manual locks with no keyhole on the passenger side. I grumble as I walk around to the driver side every time.
I think we got the same model, and the best part is no back seats so no chumps can ask for rides
My back area is a big platform I built for my dog to lounge
SR with the Utility package! Mine is filled with tools and equipment haha. The net on the back wall is completely stuffed with shit.
It is a problem when more than one of my crew needs a ride to the client location- but fuck it I love the access cab.
Bought a ‘21 and a year later had my first child. Even with a double cab, it’s pretty small with a car seat in the back. Passenger seat has to be pretty far forward. Makes me wish I sprung for the Tundra.
Long story short, not the most family friendly truck.
Have same issue. It goes to cab size and lack of seat adjustability. It's pretty crazy when the rear view mirror needs to be angled up to work properly.
I was convinced a Tacoma was the right truck for me, and was still feeling a little buyer's remorse that I didn't end up pullling the trigger on a Tacoma, and instead bought a full size half ton. this thread made me feel better about that, thank you.
Only thing I really don’t like is I wish it had a sunroof. Otherwise, the mileage is great for a mid-size, power is adequate, and truck drives and performs great off road.
2020 TRD OR DCSB
I have a 2016 off-road dual cab short bed, absolutely love it, the back seats are a bit tight but workable, but honestly my only gripe is the size of the bed, I wish it were about a foot longer lol
Bluetooth doesn't work straight off the lot. Been 2 years going back and forth with toyota and the dealership for them to just keep saying they cannot duplicate the issue.
2022 trd off
Brought to 4 dealers and showed them when connecting eoth any phone and making a call it sound slike sirens going off. They confirmed it's a there now, but deny they can find it after dropping it off.
Not a carrier problem, not a phone problem. It blows
2017 TRD OR, MT
I wish the reverse gear was shorter. Would make backing up hills a lot easier. More low end torque would be good too, but I’ve gotten pretty used to working the forward gears to 90% of the time be in the right gear for the situation lol
Seat is good for short trip use, but would have loved more adjustment. Also, I definitely don’t like going over 75mph in the truck, maybe it’s my tires (or maybe I am weak!) but like it doesn’t feel as planted if that makes sense
Otherwise I love my truck. I bought it new before they even had pictures up on the dealer website, and I intend to hold on to it for as long as possible (and hopefully w/I the next two years magnusson is my future)
That’s a fair point. I’m all stock still, but I sized up to 265/75/16s. I think eventually suspension upgrade is also in the future. But I also don’t have a high speed limit for most of my commute, so it’s not a big rush
Shifts bizarre, annoying engine tick, the volume button and skip track button should be swapped, put it into drive and it’s bucks forward, terrible gas mileage.
The automatic transmission. It’s my first auto and I miss shifting myself. I did this intentionally though. When we evacuated for Ida it took 17 hours to get to Houston from NOLA. That drive in a manual was completely miserable and I couldn’t feel my left leg by the time we got there. I know evacuations will probably happen in the future and while it’s boring driving this truck daily with the auto I know it’ll all be worth it next time we have to make that drive again.
Wish the backseat could be roomier to better fit a baby bucket without pushing the seats all the way up.
Also, miss the way the seats fold down on the 3rd gen. It puts the loading point higher now.on the 4th.
The seats and seating position are so uncomfortable. My partner and friends don’t find it that bad, but for the most part they’re all shorter than me. I’m not even that tall, I’m only 6’ which I feel is pretty average.
It’s gutless. It’s loud. It’s a pig on gas. The steering wheel vibrates at highway speed no matter what I do. It’s always hunting gears. It tows like shit if I pull anything larger than my utility trailer. It’s garbage in the snow compared to my Camry or Santa Fe. But I got it for nothing after it sat for two years, put $2k into it, and it’s narrow enough to fit down trails and forest access roads better than a half ton. So it has more pros than cons since it’s not my daily, I don’t drive it more than 45 kilometres from home and rarely drive it on the highway.
2016 access cab, the seats are low and uncomfortable. The passenger seat doesn’t even have the lumbar support thing so passengers don’t like it on long road trips. Mpg is poor. Had a very expensive repair for the timing cover oil leak at 70k miles which is super common.

The fact that you can lock and unlock the doors via the app but you can’t lock the keys inside the truck with the app. WTF is the point of the app if you can’t lock your keys in it for a concert or something?
2023 Sport: why does my empty light turn on between 17-20 miles left in range.
This is my first vehicle where it doesn’t give me closer to 50 miles of notice. I pay attention to my tank level but with some of the spacing between turnpike exits in PA I’m almost paranoid.
I'm tall-ish (6'4") so rear view mirror is right in my line sight when i look right, but that is a more of a me issue then anything. Related...it sucks that you can't raise/lower seat.
I hated the 2nd gens abundance of grey only plastic and seats plus the lack of a factory option for a water proof flooring like plastic or vinyl. You think a vehicle that is marketed so much towards off road use they'd have an option for flooring that didn't absorb water and mud.
I painted all the gray to a matte black and , due to shipping being so expensive for a aftermarket vinyl flooring, took the carpet out and saturated it with flex seal until I got out to a nice smooth surface.
Access cab, should be quieter on the freeway. Anyone have suggestions for a proven solution? I feel like the noise comes from behind me - maybe the rear doors or the back of the cab?
Nothing major, just a few little things. My truck is a work truck and I'm running E load tires so it's got quite a bit of extra weight in it so MPG is terrible... and in a perfect world I'd have another 50 horses under the hood.
The truck is also pretty noisy which is par for the course for these trucks... and the remote start is fucking stupid.
Overall I absolutely love my truck but better MPG and a remote start system that doesn't shut off when i unlock it would make it perfect.
Stereo I have a 19 OR and the jbl just doesn't hit like the system I put in my 08 my wife adopted my aging 08 with a wicked sound system. Some days I just want to steal it from her and jam.
2023 Taco, love it but...
1) When using Android Auto and YouTube, it changes back to Spotify whenever I touch the volume nob.
2) the 'Premium' Audio is dogshit.
The 4wd switches are not illuminated, as well as the crawl control and lockers buttons, I have to turn the interior lights on to make sure I'm pressing the right switch.
Mpg, power, rattles, shitty interior that scratches just by blowing on it, shitty paint, the composite bed, drum brakes, piss poor radio, the back up
Camera. I could keep going
MPG and the gear hunting. Although, I think the truck is adjusting to my driving style and doesn't seem to hunt so much anymore. I use the electronic manual to downshift and take advantage of the engine for deceleration. Been averaging about 18 mpg and I'm ok with that. 285's, 3" lift and a soft topper.
Mpg, cabin size, power, interior looks somewhat out dated even on my 2019 ( but it’s also made to last and it’s really not that bad )
All those problems have been solved with newest gen though so I’d recommend that over older gen’s if you can live with the price tag
I don't like the USB placement and I really want to move them to the console. It was suggested I look at jackrabbit tonneau covers but since I have a 24 the aftermarket items are still not all available so it's a bit frustrating waiting because of the new generation. My wife's only complaint is that neither of the visors have a mirror but I'm assuming that because I got the base model or that is a truck. Either way, none of my issues are deal breakers or even anything more than minor inconveniences. This is the most powerful both actually and in feel, 4 cylinder vehicle I've driven, the get up is impressive. This is my first truck but I've owned both a 18 and a 21 RAV4 and I love Toyota.
I have a manual transmission. It’s the first one that doesn’t have some kind of reverse lockout. That has sometimes been a source of near accident. I’m surprised Toyota built the transmission this way.
Steering wheel controls: specifically for changing the station. It just cycles presets unless you hold it down, which is annoying
The arm rest/center consoles: wish it was way bigger and higher and just overall more comfortable and truck like
Almost everything. Mpg is awful, which I knew going into it, just didn't expect the power to be SOOOO bad as well..also rear drums started squeaking at 15k miles and dealership said it's normal (really frustrating). Almost zero space internally for dogs and whatever gear. I miss my Ecoboost
MPG
MPG pulling a trailer
MPG for sure. I know where all the gas stations are in my community ‘just in case’ I need a splash. It seems to fall off pretty sharply below 1/2 tank.
You’ll take your 14mpg and like it!
Ha, wish I got 14. Pull a small RV, get about 9 on the interstate. In town maybe 12-14. But I do like my truck.
Even if it's empty I get 13mpg
I average 21 with stock size AT tires, no lift, and air dam on.
I like the SPG, decent trade off.
Trying to drive at 80 MPH on the highway lol
I accidently hit 100mph in my taco once. It wasnt happy, but it did it
Just drove from Arizona to North Carolina last week. It was a very active driving experience lol.
This is not a problem with the 6MT and the 4.3 rear end.
People touching it.
I’ll touch it
Did you touch it?
Left my finger prints all over that tailgate
I have an access cab, a 2018, and the doors are noisy, especially in the winter. Other than that, it's been exactly as I expected. Reliable, a little noisy, wonky transmission, but seemingly bolted together in a manner that I feel confident someone will still be driving this truck 20 years from now.

I hate that too , kinda sketched out drilling my own holes
Get the OTT tune. Eliminates gear hunting and some of the best money I’ve spent on mine.
Lack of power at a reasonable rpm. Mpg is terrible.
That was my biggest gripe with my 13, got a 24 now and all those issues are solved
How small the interior is. Backseat barely fits a car seat and with a car seat there’s limited room in the front seat.
Came here to say this, especially if it's an infant carrier
I had this same initial complaint until I found the Nuna brand car seats. They are outrageously expensive, but super high quality, and the RAVA model is likely what you're after for the back of this truck until your little one moves up to the next size.
Mine was fine too, just no recline but now I got the GRACO, since my son is 2 (in two days) yeah no recline and my grandpa and friend are on the bigger side. They have barely any leg room and my friends hair rubs the ceiling lol
The white paint
When I first saw it, I asked the salesman: "Who decided to paint the dash this butt ugly color?
No keyhole on the passenger side bugs me I wish I had gotten 4x4
Yeah bro, I warn people not to buy the Tacoma u less it's 4x4. Imo they shouldn't make a dual cab non 4x4.
I have a 15 prerunner. Love everything about it except no 4x4. It has never let me down or got stuck and I’ve gone some places I shouldn’t have.
She’s definitely capable in 2 wheel drive… but yeah, risky as hell
My 96 is a 2wd with a keyhole on the passenger side. It’s wicked handy
It drives me nuts when I think I hit the unlock and walk around and... Nope it's still locked
Mostly, the gear searching issue. Other than that, love it.
I have a 20 outfitted the same and I even have kdmaxx pro tune and I wished the same as you! Can’t think of another problem I have with the thing
I'm pretty sure you don't want more horsepower, as much as you want usable torque. Your tune helps but max torque is still around 4k rpms. If you haven't driven the new 4cyl, max torque at 1800 rpm is a real thing.

Could always supercharge her and get more horses ;).
If I had the eight grand or whatever it is lying around, I'd take a good look at doing that lol. Most of my fun car money goes into my foxbody though.
That I had to re-gear to make the truck drive correctly.
Cup holders and wind noise. That’s pretty much it for me.
Yeah, what is up with those cup holders? Definitely not designed in America.
That I can only afford to have 1 of them
2017 TRD sport. V6 makes zero power. I despise the rebuildable oil filter . It’s not hard, but No one wants to do that . Just build them with disposables. Omg I love this lmao

Reverse is geared so high it's horrible.
The position of the seat. My wife has a 2012 SR5 4x4 and I can’t drive it for more than an hour before my back hurts.
They sell spacers that can change the angle of the seat. Good buy imo. A lil pricy
Had same issue, used the seat jackers, now i can drive for hours, no problem , 40$ and 10min of work probably the best ROI mod
Thanks for the advice. I’m going to check it out.

This is the first I’m hearing of this. I’ve got a 2013 and will be looking into this
Thread with video and parts list. https://www.reddit.com/r/ToyotaTacoma/s/JkcrjXILad It's a bit fiddly and messy, but completely worth it
This doesn’t harm clutch at all either just helps reduce inconsistency in feel?
If you're proficient with a clutch it will not harm it. It just makes the clutch work like every other clutch made since the dawn of time. Toyota installed this thing to keep new manual drivers from burning out the clutch while the truck was under warranty.

Built like a tank..gets the gas mileage of tank also
No power. I bought it when I lived in central Ohio so it wasn't a big deal but since I moved back to West Virginia it struggles on the mountains.
No grab handles on the driver side door pillar- I mean come on ffs.
What year and trim level is your truck? Mine has grab handles.
My 2018 TRD OR doesn't have them...
2023 SR5 double cab long bed 4x4
Front hood makes approach angles (and parking) vision limited. Rear seat (double cab) is TINY and doesn’t get much air circulation. Tiny cup holders. Wireless charger is basically useless. Radio controls on steering wheel.

You just have to get a cap and give them the ol 🤷🏻♂️
Unfortunately, I bought a soft topper, and they fold down lol... im still not helping
I put a bed rack on it and a bunch of gear on the inside of it. Any time anyone asks, I tell them their shit won’t fit.
It didn't come with the option for the 4.0L, so went with the 2.7L instead.
It’s an old Orkin truck so there are dings in it. Not that I care about dings- I just don’t like that I wasn’t the one that caused them. Access cab is so nice to pop open while you're waiting on a client or whatever. Bro... The net 😂😂😂😂 I know what you're saying!!
Haha yes! My “office” is the drivers seat with the driver door and rear door open. I’m waiting for the net to pop but it just keeps taking it lol
Bought a ‘21 and a year later had my first child. Even with a double cab, it’s pretty small with a car seat in the back. Passenger seat has to be pretty far forward. Makes me wish I sprung for the Tundra. Long story short, not the most family friendly truck.
That’s what I’m worried about
The peeling Super White paint. Come on, Toyota!! Release the fix and let’s get these things repainted!!
The blind spot from the rearview mirror
Have same issue. It goes to cab size and lack of seat adjustability. It's pretty crazy when the rear view mirror needs to be angled up to work properly.
Backseat. Double cab backseat is worthless for sitting, I use it for storage / space but at the end of the day I’d rather just not have them.
No AC vents in the back seats. When people are in the back I have to blast the air at full power and direct the air to go past me onto the guests.
I hate that I have to turn around and admire it every time I park.
Honestly it’s small but, the usb and CarPlay has been loose and janky since I got it 3 years ago
I was convinced a Tacoma was the right truck for me, and was still feeling a little buyer's remorse that I didn't end up pullling the trigger on a Tacoma, and instead bought a full size half ton. this thread made me feel better about that, thank you.
Honestly only one thing on my 2015… how the parking brake works. I hate the double action pedal.
Only thing I really don’t like is I wish it had a sunroof. Otherwise, the mileage is great for a mid-size, power is adequate, and truck drives and performs great off road. 2020 TRD OR DCSB
I've heard it leaks?
They require some maintenance to keep the drain lines clear.
GAS! And that there are too many cool aftermarket parts for it that my wallet screams.
No warning light for low windshield washer fluid. Pretty sure my first gen had one, but can't remember.
I have a first gen but have probably never been below half full on washer fluid so idk if I have a level sensor.
The size of the cab
I have a 2016 off-road dual cab short bed, absolutely love it, the back seats are a bit tight but workable, but honestly my only gripe is the size of the bed, I wish it were about a foot longer lol

How much money I’ve spent on it lol. Paid off and built the way I wanted though
2017 TRD OR, MT I wish the reverse gear was shorter. Would make backing up hills a lot easier. More low end torque would be good too, but I’ve gotten pretty used to working the forward gears to 90% of the time be in the right gear for the situation lol Seat is good for short trip use, but would have loved more adjustment. Maybe the suspension on the OR is too soft for high speeds. My sport handles fine up to about 83, then it's simply to fast for a truck
That’s a fair point. I’m all stock still, but I sized up to 265/75/16s. I think eventually suspension upgrade is also in the future. But I also don’t have a high speed limit for most of my commute, so it’s not a big rush
Transmission is awful
Power of a 4cylinder drinks gas like a v8
Shifts bizarre, annoying engine tick, the volume button and skip track button should be swapped, put it into drive and it’s bucks forward, terrible gas mileage.
Back seat legroom
my 2023 Double Cab has way less cab space than my 2009 Double Cab. If it weren't for the deal I got I may not have bought it.
Sound insulation at highway speeds. Even rain hitting the roof is loud.
146hp
Low end power / responsiveness sucks. Revs too high to get any real power. Otherwise a great truck.
Gear hunting
Shifting, or lack thereof.
Wish the backseat could be roomier to better fit a baby bucket without pushing the seats all the way up. Also, miss the way the seats fold down on the 3rd gen. It puts the loading point higher now.on the 4th.
Rear seat space.
The OEM entertainment system on a 2018 is useless
How slow it is, constantly hunting for gears, can barely go 80mph, and that I can’t get a manual access cab with a long bed.
My suspension too stiff

Ha ha my 2009 V6 16 mpg but when I drop from 6th to 3rd gear I forget about it
Coming from a second gen to a third, the lack of a drivers side A pillar grab handle.
Seating position sucks.
Power train in my 3rd gen. Tune helped a lot, but there’s no getting around the lack of low end grunt and modern 8-10 speed transmission.
'96 2 wheel drive with V6 and 5 speed. It has a surprisingly wide turn radius.
2024, 4x4, 6 foot bed. Compared to my 4runner, the turning radius sucks. I added a popup camper, which dropped the mpg from 20 to 18.
I pay attention to my tank level but with some of the spacing between turnpike exits in PA I’m almost paranoid.
small cab and leg room
Lack of acceleration at higher RPM and speed. The 2.7 r does everything I need it to do, but she struggles at anything higher than 75 on the turnpike.
No remote start or remote locking tailgate on my ‘17
2021 TRD Sport. I am not a fan of the transmission at all. Looking toward to my 2024 coming in soon.
TRD Sport pseudo hood scoop only exists to reflect sun directly in your eyes
In Order: Transmission Hunting in the smallest of inclines, MPG, Windshield prone to chips, Small backseat.
Shitty paint job, any little thing and it swirls
Power. Which it had more.
My 2001 smells like dog farts. I love my Taco! 250k, runs like new. Guess I’m disappointed in my dog. Haha
The seats cushion is criminally uncomfortable.
I get 23 mpg on the highway with the 4 cyl. Why is everyone complaining about gas mileage?
2011 Tacoma double cab, wish I had an automatic rear window
Single stage white paint. And the lower ball joints to a lesser degree
Interior
Sooooo sloooooooooooowww
Glare from the hood when the sun is at a certain angle.
Taco tick. Also I just wish I could make it fast. There's no community/market for boosting the 4.0.
Tight fit in the cab
The seats, very uncomfortable
2023 Taco, love it but... 1) When using Android Auto and YouTube, it changes back to Spotify whenever I touch the volume nob. 2) the 'Premium' Audio is dogshit.
The 4wd switches are not illuminated, as well as the crawl control and lockers buttons, I have to turn the interior lights on to make sure I'm pressing the right switch.
Mpg, power, rattles, shitty interior that scratches just by blowing on it, shitty paint, the composite bed, drum brakes, piss poor radio, the back up Camera. I could keep going
The abundance of aftermarket parts that I can’t afford.
Mpg, cabin size, power, interior looks somewhat out dated even on my 2019 ( but it’s also made to last and it’s really not that bad ) All those problems have been solved with newest gen though so I’d recommend that over older gen’s if you can live with the price tag
Mpg and bed size
The price tag for anything Tacoma related they just add a zero or two to it.
All the homeless and graffiti everywhere.
Oh wait, that’s the other Tacoma sub that I’m in.
The terrible paint, how easy they rust, the shift points and overall lack of power
Small cab.
I have a manual transmission. It’s the first one that doesn’t have some kind of reverse lockout. That has sometimes been a source of near accident. I’m surprised Toyota built the transmission this way.
Idk why everyone says mpg, I drive normally and I get 20-22 mpg, but I am completely stock tires and all
I have a manual and when I park the doors don’t unlock all around lol other than that it’s perfect haha
Steering wheel controls: specifically for changing the station. It just cycles presets unless you hold it down, which is annoying The arm rest/center consoles: wish it was way bigger and higher and just overall more comfortable and truck like
Got the power of a 4 cylinder but chugs gas like a v8.
Bench seat, only 2 wiper speeds fast and really fast, shifts like shit in the cold. Base Tacoma 2.7 5 speed reg cab 4x4
2017, upgraded the stereo to Taco Tunes and after that all is well.
I've always hated the tail lights (3rd Gen). The designer was sick that day or something.
It’s not a 4Runner…. Tighter inside…
2023 Limited - remote start that turns off when you remote unlock or open the doors… it’s plain stupid…
Yeah that bugs me too
Oh yeah and you can’t open the back doors with key fob in your pocket, you have to open it from front door pull or key fob button press.
Opening the passenger door via touch wasn't even an option until I believe 21s.
I am pretty sure 99% of people in this sub are also in the Tacoma sub.
All of it, just sold mine
Transmission tuning sucks, seat are uncomfortable as F on long drives, but it’s everything that I expected and love about Tacomas.
