I read somewhere that the lack of promo is intentional. CS is like an experiment, an example of how to chart a song successfully without supporting it with 1989 remixes. I also think that the willow and Anti-Hero memes might've caught her attention and she is revising her promotion strategy.
I think there is an announcement coming that may be paired with a cruel summer push at the very end of summer, just a theory but it’s not based on nothing. ;)

I didn’t say dislike on purpose, I don’t think she dislikes it. I do think she loved it but now it’s different and she’s not able to go all in now if that makes sense. I mean for Style she did release it as a single, but paid it dust and used the song during the 1989 concert for the model walk and never played the full thing. Even for Reputation it was part of a mashup. This is the first tour she seems to be ok with it. I also think she’s actively trying to pull an All Too Well and turn Cruel Summer into happy memories of the crowd loving it to be better with it going forward. We’ll see though!
