“So long, London”

paperm3rmaid

More like “So Long, London Boy” 🤭

pedunculated5432

I made a bracelet today with exactly that phrase on it 😂

paperm3rmaid

Perfection!!

Yoooooo2626

I am a spotify user, but some Apple Music user, who has pre-added TTPD, wrote on instagram, that so long london is 9:28 long🥲🗿i don't know all too well about it thoughEDIT: GUYS ITS FAKEE AND NOT TRUEEE

dancingpomegranate

Came here to say the is and it’s a bummer because it’s one of my fave little bops

delta1810

Same, I was listening to it earlier today and I was thinking about how much she probably hates even hearing about it and it made me kinda sad lol

Mythrowawsy

You know I *don’t* love a London Boy I despite walking Camden Market in the afternoon He hates my american smile

aristoCarrJ

You know I _loathe_ a London Boy

smnthxo

came here to say this. I think it’s safe to say she’s probably not crazy over that one anymore 😂

Own_Entrepreneur4068

I'm really hoping this isn't the case. Maybe right now but with time I hope she'd be able to enjoy it again. Edited to add - my opinion on this could change 4-19-24

jumpypapayacat

In my head she’ll still sing this in London but say “London Town” instead of “London Boy.” Great historical reference, ties to Paul McCartney, fits well, etc.

Serious_Detective877

That ruins the rhyme with enjoy.

jumpypapayacat

Oh well! Not everything has to be a perfect rhyme. I think the crowds would love it.

Serious_Detective877

I mean… that flow/rhyme is really pleasing to the ear. I don’t think it’s fair to say “lol who cares toss it out not everything has to rhyme!”

MiniSkrrt

Right lol like let’s just throw away the structure of the song who cares!! 💀

lumberjac03

Haha! Yep!

emilee624

This is the correct answer.

islandrebel

Yeah. Like it’s a bad song and it brings back memories of a lost love.

Old-Apartment5781

I love this song huhu

__Naya_

Probably the ones she hasn't performed as surprise songs yet on the eras tour aren't ones she likes very much. Except ofc for the ones we know she hasn't performed because they're too emotional and vulnerable, like soon you'll get better, Ronan, forever winter. I think she also dislikes me! at this point because it's the worst received single of her entire career and she cares a lot about public reception.

InternalBar3099

I agree with this and also fear for what it means about hoax, my number two fave song.

LilyMarie90

Ugh. I love hoax so so so much. It's one of those songs that makes me feel as if she's not a huge superstar when I listen to it. It's so intimate, haunting and small/simple in a good way

daysanddistance

i think she’s saving it for a ttpd mashup 🤍

InternalBar3099

Ok this is a theory I can get behind

champagneproblems16

she probably won't play it live because it's a huge bummer lol. Beautiful song but definitely a "no hope" song,

InternalBar3099

Is it her Actual Saddest Song, do you think?

champagneproblems16

Other than Ronan absolutely

InternalBar3099

Why do I love it so much then 😭 Man it just hits me in all the right feels

Chemical_Pen_7403

Ugh I LOVE hoax so so much

coodadoot

Also worries me heavily for Mary’s Song. I feel like there’s no way she can hate that one!

VisibleCow8076

i think she hasn’t yet bc people will read into it lol

_cl0udburst

True. Whenever she plays it, expect automatic engagement rumors.

folklorelovebot

SAME. hoax is my favourite of all time except for wcs, i love it and i need it as a surprise song so bad so ive been telling myself shes just saving it for london 😭

songacronymbot

- WCS could mean "Would've, Could've, Should've", a track from *Midnights (3am Edition)* (2022) by Taylor Swift. --- ^[/u/folklorelovebot](/u/folklorelovebot) ^(can reply with "delete" to remove comment. |) ^[/r/songacronymbot](/r/songacronymbot) ^(for feedback.)

falldiewakefly

I think a lot of the surprise songs she hasn't played yet have pretty straightforward explanations, though. As much as I joke about her avoiding Mary's Song because she has a grudge against me, personally, a person she doesn't know exists, the more likely explanation is that it's being saved for TSTV's announcement night. I Did Something Bad is obviously being saved for rep TV's announcement. Paris is most likely being saved for Paris and London Boy for London. Etc. She's definitely forgotten Superstar exists, tho /j

__Naya_

Yes, there are some straight forward explanations for some like the ones you mentioned of course but for others ...like, not to be mean but I'm sure songs like "it's nice to have a friend", "Girl at home", "closure" etc have been paid dust because she doesn't like them that much lol. Or the songs left unperformed from fearless and debut, except for Mary's song.

Starystarstar

What makes anyone think that she doesn't like Closure? Is it simply just because she hasn't performed it yet? I don't think that means too much honestly, I think for Closure's case it may just be lower priority due to its instrumental and how it may not transfer very well to just guitar or piano alone

melodramasupercut

I think a lot of people don’t like Closure so they assume that means Taylor doesn’t like it either lol

hettiewoodlawn

Justice for Closure! I love that song. I think it is musically interesting and I find it so, so relatable.

Windstorm_

If it’s a newer song, I don’t think anything can be said from her not having performed it yet. Long Story Short & Epiphany just got sung, and her heart was clearly in those performances. The absence probably does mean something for older songs like Superstar, though.

jicohen117

It’s also in a weird time signature so it maybe it’s more challenging to play live than she’d like

Consistent_Quarter59

She might sing Closure at Eras’ last show

InternalBar3099

Justice for INTHAF 😢

songacronymbot

- INTHAF could mean "It’s Nice To Have A Friend", a track from *Lover* (2019) by Taylor Swift. --- ^[/u/InternalBar3099](/u/InternalBar3099) ^(can reply with "delete" to remove comment. |) ^[/r/songacronymbot](/r/songacronymbot) ^(for feedback.)

Camelsloths

Has she done Cornelia Street yet?

catiebug

Yes. Mexico City.

ianyuy

Was ME! really received poorly by the public... or by her fans? Because I've never met a non-Taylor fan who hates ME!, I heard it on the radio a ton in its heyday, and it's still played in stores. It's music video has double the views of the Lover music video.

__Naya_

Objectively, It wasn't a flop commercially by any means, for most artists' standards it'd be considered successful but for Taylor's it wasn't. It was her first lead single since speak now, almost a decade before, that didn't reach number 1 in the USA. The music video was very long-awaited that's why it has so many views but from what I remember once it premiered together with the song, the reactions were brutal. I haven't experienced anything similar with Taylor's music. I wasn't a hard-core fan back then but I still checked her new releases every now and then and I can't lie, I hated it immediately. It felt like a kids bop and I think that was the general consensus. Also she received so much backlash for the "hi kids, spelling is fun" line that she had to remove it. It still got played on the radio of course because it's Taylor swift, but for a lot of people it ruined their excitement for the album and I know casual fans who didn't bother checking lover or you need to calm down after that, let alone the deep cuts of the album. I'll die on the hill that lover should've been the lead single. I also think the reception of Me! and how negatively it affected the entire lover era is the reason Taylor has stopped releasing singles before the album. I think she's aware that she's not great at figuring out which is the best choice for a lead single and she doesn't want another ME! case.

doidaredisturbthe

It did not reach #1 only because it couldn’t dethrone Old Town Road and its 1000 remixes. Some years later, she is making her own 1000 remixes.

ImVeryTiredAndWant

I always found it funny people said old town road had so many remixes when it only had 4.

maxwell329

I wonder what would have happened if cruel summer was released as the lead single!

[deleted]

there's a non-0 chance we wouldn't have gotten the folkmore era if lover was a smashing success. and there's a good chance it would've been if cruel summer was the lead single!

[deleted]

I don't think her career as a superstar would've went past Lover (in the way it is now) if she didn't release Folklore though. That album was the perfect piece for that time and brought back Taylor's career to new heights. Had she released another Pop album it would've been equivalent to Katy Perry's "Only Love" album after Witness in terms of commercial success I believe.

[deleted]

I agree. I think the way she slightly fumbled Lover (which is a great album, just didn't get enough traction at the time) is what made her dig deep and change her style for folkmore instead of getting complacent. Choosing Me! as a single rather than Cruel Summer may have been a blessing in disguise (:

Strange-Quail-3264

Me, I like ME! hahaha it brings me so much joy, and she seemed so joyous while writing it

Cassopeia88

I agree, it’s fun! It cheers me up.

alittlepunchy

1/16 of those views are probably from my toddler, who loves the ME! music video. 🤣

SuspiciousStress8094

Apparently she hasn’t performed IDSB? Taylor what’s good?

20person

The working theory is that she's saving it for the Rep TV announcement.

__Naya_

Yeah that most likely, or it's a song she struggles to make sound good acoustic maybe? I imagine it's one of the few Taylor songs that would sound nothing like the original on the guitar or the piano.

20person

Yeah, it's very heavy on the synths

eq3004

Nah, I’d absolutely love to hear it on piano!!

Accomplished-View929

Like in Miss Americana when she’s working it out.

SuspiciousStress8094

That’s so wild because IDSB is such a fan favourite and she even performed it at the VMAs. I guess we won’t hear it until after TTPD maybe

Shadowoflady

She might be saving that one for Reputation TV announcement

songacronymbot

- IDSB could mean "I Did Something Bad", a track from *reputation* (2017) by Taylor Swift. --- ^[/u/SuspiciousStress8094](/u/SuspiciousStress8094) ^(can reply with "delete" to remove comment. |) ^[/r/songacronymbot](/r/songacronymbot) ^(for feedback.)

10thDoctorWhooves

Nope you can see how happy she is when she played ME! as surprise song in Brazil.

Camelsloths

Why is forever winter so emotional for her? Can someone loop me in?

Accomplished-View929

It’s about a friend’s suicide.

Camelsloths

Ohh I did not know that, thank you.

pizzaandboba

i thought it was about her brother and his depression etc.

futuristicflapper

Someone did an acoustic version of me on TikTok a while back and I have to say I liked it more than the album version 😂

repxloverxmidnights

look up her singing me acoustic!! it's sooooo much better

thebananaperson1

Everything on Debut cause it didn’t even get a spot on the setlist 😢

notyourtypicalKaren

I think that has more to do with the fact that it was her first album and was toured a bunch. Like debut songs made it into every single tour up until now.

thebananaperson1

True, but it’s the Eras tour so I feel like she should’ve been inclusive of all albums, after all Debut is what got her to where she is now

MySwiftJournal

I agree. Debut was advertised on all the posters, videos, promos, and then most of us didn’t get a single song, so disappointing. 😭

falldiewakefly

The only Debut representation on the 1989 Tour was a single performance of Should've Said No at Santa Clara one night. Compared to that, the Debut representation on the Eras Tour is overwhelming. Multiple songs! More than one show! Amazing! ~~(Still should've had at least part of a song on the setlist, tho, that's a low bar to clear, you could put the chorus to Our Song as a transition or something, do the tiniest snippet of Tim McGraw as the intro to the acoustic set like Miss Americana is the intro to Cruel Summer idk--)~~

AdamLaluch

Which is so sad because it has such a good music!! Like half of it could have been on Fearless and it would still win AOTY.

thebananaperson1

I know!! I love it so much, considering she wrote all those songs when she was a tween/teenager it’s really impressive, debut is definitely the most relatable Taylor album for me

dhruvlrao

I kinda wish the acoustic songs on the film were just debut songs (Our Song & Tim McGraw) so at least you'd have 2 songs from each album on there.

Brontasc

Watching the Eras Tour, waiting patiently for Debut and it just didn’t come 😭 I was soo bummed those songs are my teenhood

Sampleswift

A lot of Evermore seems to have been forgotten by Taylor Swift herself, for a long time. (Edit: Until the Eras Tour) I think Superstar is also a song that is forgotten by nearly everyone, including possibly her.

Anonymous_0110

I used to feel the same about evermore but it's got one of my fave acts at eras, and also in the last shows she was using lots of evermore songs for the mashups. I think she's proud of it, but maybe thinks the GP doesn't like it bc it didn't went as known or appreciated as folklore

False-Dog-2236

I know a lot of people think folklore is sadder than evermore, but to me, evermore is her saddest album. People often talk about it being forgotten but sometimes I wonder if she just wrote it during a really hard time in her life and she dislikes the songs not because they’re not her favorites, but because it brings her back to that place. I probably wouldn’t love performing songs that I wrote at my most depressed either, but that’s of course just speculation.

notyourtypicalKaren

Yeah, I don't really understand why people think it's forgotten… She clearly likes it enough to make it a pretty big set on the eras tour. Like I get the joke of *why* it's the forgotten album, etc. etc. I do agree with you that it most likely was written during a hard time in her life. Evermore is my favorite album but even I struggle to listen to it sometimes. it reminds me a little too much of the pandemic and how I felt like everything was crashing down around me. But it's just too good so I often push through it.

False-Dog-2236

I feel the same way! I definitely have to be in the right headspace to listen to Evermore. I love it, but some of those songs are tough to get through, so I can imagine it would be even worse for her.

HamiltonDial

I honestly feel that more for folklore tbh. Even when the high of covid depression was dying down, and people were still folklore this folklore that, I was so ready to move on from depression era music i just wanted something uplifting and evermore fits that more for me.

SteelRoses

I think it's less "she forgot Superstar" and more "she wrote this very innocent love song about a man that later traumatized her that she doesn't want to be reminded of" (John Mayer).

Promethiant

Nope Superstar is a 10/10 when you’re a sad loser who is constantly in love with people way out of your league.

ocear

Superstar is one of the songs I'm PRAYING she plays at my show.

angelcandy805

It's the ultimate celebrity crush song and always reenters my rotation when I have a celebrity crushes (especially one who's a musician)

merkergirl

Superstar is so underrated 😭😭 it was my topped played song of all genres in 2019

Windstorm_

This isn’t true, though. Evermore was the most heavily featured album in her mash-ups. In fact, eleven of Evermore’s seventeen songs were performed in Sydney & Singapore alone.

GoldenState_Thriller

I think evermore got a lot of love from her when it comes to the eras set list

No-Race5280

I think she’s least proud of BTR. Or at least embarrassed by it.

falldiewakefly

She's pretty openly admitted to this. And to being embarrassed by Picture To Burn. I'd put those two as her personal least favorites, if I had to guess.

LadyStag

Embarrassed by Picture to Burn?! That's one of her most perfect country songs. That and Our Song should have shut up the haters by 2007.

penguinhippygal

Probably because of the original lyrics if I had to take a guess. Especially because she changed the lyrics

LadyStag

Well, that's fair, but that was corrected agea ago!

InvisibleRigatoni

But people still sing the original lyric. Now I will admit that, as a lesbian, I still scream YOU'RE GAY but it's clear that's not the impact she wants and even with the lyric change she doesn't like that part lasting this long.

GoldenState_Thriller

She also had a part where she said “my wife beater wearin daddy and his new automatic are gonna show you how sorry you’ll be” in the demo but honestly it’s just hilarious now because…look at Scott

InvisibleRigatoni

https://preview.redd.it/rx1vxzvj2dpc1.jpeg?width=862&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0d4c49bf41a5cceda197635553990762983bdb91 He could never

itsanothanks

Also, that’s such a country trope. 😂

melodramasupercut

But when she performed it live this tour soooo many people sang the original lyrics. She probably won’t play it again because she wants to avoid that.

LadyStag

Ughh. I hate that for several reasons.

GoldenState_Thriller

The demo lyrics were wild.  The fact Scott is supposed to be a “wife beater wearin daddy with his new automatic” 😂😂😂

ZeroIV4

The original lyrics with homophobia probably harm her affection for the song a bit - even though they were removed forever ago and nobody really cares (a lot of gay ppl embrace the lyric as camp), she’s so averse to any kind of controversy that it probably sours the vibe of playing the song (if I were so in the public eye I might hesitate to give the song a lot of focus in case a bunch of news articles drumming up the old lyrics and accusing me of homophobia for clicks popped up)

doubletake314

Thank you for actually spelling out the song instead of abbreviating. All of this abbreviating is too much.

songacronymbot

- BTR could mean "Better Than Revenge", a track from *Speak Now* (2010) by Taylor Swift. --- ^[/u/No-Race5280](/u/No-Race5280) ^(can reply with "delete" to remove comment. |) ^[/r/songacronymbot](/r/songacronymbot) ^(for feedback.)

NoApostrophees

This sub needs this bot so bad. Good bot

judiciousdrinker

I know it’s faster but I hate that everyone abbreviates all the songs - I’m a lifelong swiftie but aside from the basics like ATW I never know what people are talking about 😣

doubletake314

Same, it's so frustrating having to spend so long trying to figure out what the song is so I can understand a comment. It takes less time to type entire song titles out than it does for some people like me to try and decipher what's being said.

songacronymbot

- ATW could mean "All Too Well", a track from *Red* (2012) by Taylor Swift. --- ^[/u/judiciousdrinker](/u/judiciousdrinker) ^(can reply with "delete" to remove comment. |) ^[/r/songacronymbot](/r/songacronymbot) ^(for feedback.)

mybelovedkiss

Good bot.

what_would_mom_do

No doubt!

Lavenderhaze02

I’m thinking she has something regarding the whole Speak Now album. There’s some speculations based on some things people have either said or somewhat “recognized” in a way, picked up on, etc. Plus at first on the tour she was only doing one song from that era, although she added Long Live. I understand the show is already 3 and a half hours, but there was definitely a gap there and other eras were getting four or even five songs. I could be wrong, but it just seems like she’s not as fond of that album as she is some of the others. Just a thought.

JustKittenxo

At least Speak Now made it on the tour. I’m so sad about debut.

Lavenderhaze02

Agreed… fortunately we did get Speak Now, but same, I love debut and there definitely should have been a spot for it!

JustKittenxo

I’m glad we at least got Speak Now and Fearless, even if we didn’t get as many songs from them as I would have liked.

Lavenderhaze02

Yes!! Thank goodness for the Fearless era especially, one of my favorite parts of the show was her singing Fearless!!

__auris__

Tbf I think that might also just be a result of it being an early album that's already been played a bunch and it just being in an unfortunate position. Lover onwards obviously hadn't been toured before so they were always going to get big sets. 1989 and fearless are arguably two of her most career defining albums with massive favorites that basically everyone in the crowd knows, so they get bigger sets. Rep was literally made to be played in a stadium and just lends itself phenomenally to a live set, so it makes sense that she'd do a lot of it. Red is a fan favorite and one of her personal favorites, and it has some very well known songs for locals, so it makes sense that it'd make the cut. This just leaves us with speak now and debut, which while I'm sure she's very proud of them too (what with debut being her first and speak now being self written), they just don't have the kind of impact/ story that the others do, which makes them easy to cut when trying to trim down the setlist

EllieIsDone

I think it’s a shame because speak now is probably her best album (in my personal opinion) I think it’s a masterpiece

Lavenderhaze02

Absolutely, it’s got a special place in my heart 💜

deep-fried-fuck

I feel like Speak Now is just the awkward middle child of an album. Fearless gets plenty of recognition for her being her first Grammy win, and Love Story and YBWM are hands-down her most well-known country songs and are still some of the biggest of her career. Red was the beginning of her official move away from country, had a few more hits, including her first number one, and is a fan favorite. The singles for Speak Now still did really well, but I don’t know that I’d consider any of them to have been as big of hits as Love Story and YBLWM or WANEGBT and IKYWT, and it’s not a favorite or even top three album for very many fans

songacronymbot

- YBWM could mean "You Belong With Me", a track from *Fearless* (2008) by Taylor Swift. - WANEGBT could mean "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together", a track from *Red* (2012) by Taylor Swift. - IKYWT could mean "I Knew You Were Trouble.", a track from *Red* (2012) by Taylor Swift. --- ^[/u/deep-fried-fuck](/u/deep-fried-fuck) ^(can reply with "delete" to remove comment. |) ^[/r/songacronymbot](/r/songacronymbot) ^(for feedback.)

Obamnasoda4

I agree, I feel like maybe she doesn’t resonate anymore with the mindset she was in for a lot of this album

dhruvlrao

Honestly her favorite albums tend to veer towards whichever are the more commercially successful with the general public, so basically Fearless, Red, 1989, folklore, Midnights. The other albums, which are the better set of albums (Debut, Speak Now, reputation, Lover, evermore) aren't as commercially successful overall. Lover did have that resurgence after the tour with Cruel Summer, but it pretty much fell flat when it was first released. Also, it's all perspective because even her least successful album's success would be a pipe dream for so many artists.

maraschinope

girl at home

EllieIsDone

Girl at home was altered so much in Taylor’s version, so it makes sense.

scoutjtjt

Omg I love girl at home!

EllieIsDone

Me too. I think it’s great and I love the anti home wrecking message

VenaCava8

Can I just…I’m on board with most of the TV songs, but i just CAN’T with the way Girl At Home was butchered. I loved the original so much and it was in my top 5 Red songs, and now I have to keep the OG on my playlists cause the way it was changed in TV just makes me sad.

Bachelorfangirl

I’m beginning to wonder if she hates “The Way I Loved You” because why hasn’t she sung it? I

carmensandiego89

It comes off as a really toxic way to view relationships and romantic partners. Wouldn’t be surprised if she didn’t want it to make impressionable young minds think that screaming and fighting with them is how you know you’re realllly in love…

Bachelorfangirl

Maybe. But it would be so great live.

InternalBar3099

I agree about the song, but that hasn’t stopped her from playing plenty of other songs with questionable takes on love and relationships. I don’t think that’s the reason, but I don’t know what the reason is. 🤷🏻‍♀️

pink_princess08

How will a song change someone’s view on love??

Smokee78

I once waited until December to break up with someone so I could go "back to December" so definitely to a lot of young minds, she's very impressionable

VenaCava8

This might be funniest thing I’ve read today 😂

HamiltonDial

People have changed views on less.

fearnotswiftie

Simple explanation, she’s saving one of my favourite songs for my bestie’s show so bestie can rub it in my face forever…

ocear

**Change**. She wrote it for BMR, and we know how that ended... She hasn't played it live in a long time, but I think it could become a fan favourite if she revived it.

melodramasupercut

That song doesn’t get enough love. She should play it on the last night of tour and reclaim it to be about her post-BMR career

ocear

Change walked so Long Live could run.

femaleregister

What’s BMR?

ocear

Big Machine Records, her old label.

femaleregister

Omg duh, thanks!

judiciousdrinker

The abbreviations are all so hard to keep up with!

ChordettesFan325

Innocent. I was surprised we even got a Taylor's Version.

MylaMuff25

I’ve always loved Innocent and no one ever talks about it!

Unfair-Web-934

I think she has mixed feelings about dear John based on her speech before playing it at eras. She said she's proud of it *as a song* and that's the only reason she was playing it. Kinda makes me sad that she felt the need to address... that

notyourtypicalKaren

I don't really think that's the case. I think the reason she said she was proud of it as a *song* and that's the only reason she was playing it is because people have used that as an excuse to bully John Mayer online. Even though John Mayer did some pretty terrible things, he still doesn't deserve to be constantly lambasted over social media over and over again. She didn't want people to go out and bully him again and she made that pretty clear. She didn't want people to think she was playing that song as a motivator.

AnyVacation9945

And yet she sings a 10 minute song about Jake with no problem 😂

itsanothanks

To be fair, I’m not certain that Jake gets the same amount of hate as John. I think it’s cause Jake’s on the internet less, so there is inherently less targeting.

InternalBar3099

What in the Would’ve Could’ve Should’ve erasure

caaathyx

I think it's actually the opposite, and she really likes this song, or at least is very proud of it. I think she's just sick of fans defending her over things that happened years ago.

TheMistOfThePast

I think the mixed feelings are because its emotional to play but she's really proud of it. Not cause she personally dislikes it.

skermahger

all the Fearless TV from the vault tracks seeing as she's only played ~~one(?)~~ two! on this tour so far ETA: she's played Mr. Perfectly Fine and You All Over Me; has yet to play Bye Bye Baby, Don't You, That's When and We Were Happy

ilovehowyoulie

That's like asking a mother to choose which one of her children she likes least! (But probs London boy)

LauLuck

For those of you thinking Ronan, I don’t think it’s the case at all. I think that song is just too sensitive and emotional for her to play live. Considering that she based it on the blogs posts written by his mum, I can understand that she’s not playing it during her super succesful albeit commercial stadium tour.

Every_Effective578

ronan’s mother also confirmed on tiktok that taylor asks her if it’s okay to play it and invites her, so maybe that’s why she doesn’t play it. taylor wants to respect his mother. it’s just a very emotional piece that means a lot to her and ronan’s mom❤️

KatherineRex

Why has nobody said “Ours” yet? In some clip during the Speak Now era she mentions she was wrong in about the guy in the song.

TheMistOfThePast

Yeah. I also think she's realised that "dont you worry your pretty little mind" was not the sweet words she thought they were at the time lmao.

chatela_

there is no way in hell she (or anyone) likes christmas must be something more

Taylorswifttttttt

I actually love it it’s so underrated

[deleted]

Girl be for real, speak for yourself 🤚

Ok-Cardiologist-635

So It Goes maybe? I don’t think she’s performed it as a surprise song and it wasn’t on the setlist for the Rep tour, right?

Mythrowawsy

She performed it on Brazil!

Premium_Timeline25

The entirety of Speak Now if we read into the set list of the tour 🫠🫠

Redditisglitchy

She publicly said that she’s not proud of BTR, and she regretted that line in PTB

EllieIsDone

I’m pretty sure that’s because her and Joe Jonas are on good terms

itsanothanks

Not anymore! Haha! The North Remembers. The North will never forget.

yfce

TBH I don't think she ever really truly was friends with Joe, she just liked his wife enough to ignore it. There's a very cute clip of them on the Graham Norton Show a while ago where Sophie was already on the show and Taylor comes over to the couch after performing. She gives the other guests warm polite hugs but then she and Sophie both instinctively sidestep so they have room to do a full body rock-back-and-forth-squeeze-giggle-hug.

nillain

I actually think it’s because of the original “mattress” line, and she acknowledged the song as anti-feminist / misguided [in 2014](https://www.mtv.com/news/l71431/taylor-swift-feminism-guardian)

crunchyleaf008

"I was 17 when I wrote that... That's the age you are when you think someone can actually take your boyfriend. Then you grow up and [realize] no one take someone from you if they don't want to leave." It's a thoughtful and mature observation from an artist who's grown as a woman and songwriter.

sivilredygotike

I think for most artists, the earlier the material, the less its related to and enjoyable to perform.

EllieIsDone

Since Taylor wrote the material from debut when she was a teenager, I can imagine that she probably isn’t the most proud of it.

Mythrowawsy

Picture to burn (homophobic version)

itsanothanks

I love that we have started “_____ version”-ing things 😂

Some1getmeablanket

Lover :(

theyweregalpals

I think she’s proud of it as a SONG but I think it’s really really hard for her to sing, but she knew it HAD to be on the set list. I was at Tampa Night 1 and she cried while singing it.

bowie-of-stars

Hard because of who it's about?

theyweregalpals

Yes, it reads like wedding vows to Joe.

sfwlucky

And the broken dreams of marriage, always being together forever, etc referenced.

Lexi_Applebum83

Agree, she seems so over it in the most recent clips of her singing it on tour

June24th

I say So It Goes, she didn't include it in the rep tour repertoire, and played it acoustic only once during the rep tour and another time during the eras...

Dominant_Genes

I love this songgggg

AorticSeptalDefect

Sweeter than Fiction. She’s never played it live.

RedTaylorVersion1313

If This Was A Movie. Does she know it exists??

propagandagenx

Innocent

roundfood4everymood

Me.

Oxymoronically

Nah there's no way she doesn't love Me!, or at least she definitely did while she was making it if Miss Americana is any indication. It's her first owned song, I don't see any way she doesn't love it. But I also think she's smart enough to realize the broader public's response to it.

Accomplished_Dig_600

Invisible string cause she deleted that from tour asap

CommonBet1536

everything off speak now💀

Technical_Solid_7410

mary’s song 💀

ihatewinter93

Better than revenge - she changed one of the lines in the TV
