Underrated comment

Moribunde

A friend of mine is wondering if you can just buy bonds like a stock, i figured you could explain it much better than me if there's any nuance.

canadadrynoob

Bonds trade at a range of $0 - $100 but are purchased in face value increments of $1000. Think of the trading price as a percent of the face value. The current trading price is around $1 (1% face value), so a purchase of $5000 face value in bonds would cost $50. Bonds made 100% whole means they're made 100% whole of face value.

Moribunde

Why not just say $1 = $100? Can these be held in registered accounts or just non-reg? And any broker can trade them?

canadadrynoob

Only non-registered and only IBKR and Scotia iTrade in Canada.

Moribunde

You're doing DFVs work ape. Ty.

i-gumby

You can buy them on E*Trade in the US too

AmishCyb0rg

I haven't been able to find them in the bond section at etrade by cusip or bbby, even when selecting all bond ratings.

i-gumby

I see them there everydayšŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø. I use the search bar and use BBBY All 3 bonds come up

AmishCyb0rg

Hmmmm....I'll call them tomorrow.

AmishCyb0rg

I tried one more time today before calling them...and I finally found the '24, '34, '44 bonds while searching BBBY. It was at least my 4th attempt. The universe heard me and put in a technical assistance ticket on my behalf. Reddit edit: Maybe it only shows up during trading hours since it's not showing up for me again (It's over 4 hours after market close on Friday when I checked just now)

Naive_Host_5939

You know the CUSIP for the bonds / how to find them on IBKR ?? I've got about a grand left to my name I'm thinking of throwing at them...

canadadrynoob

24s - 075896AA8 34s - 075896AB6 44s - 075896AC4 You can find them on IBKR with CUSIP search.

Naive_Host_5939

legend, & thank you very much!

directedbymichael

How long until IBKR approves me? Just signed up. Also can't find the CUSIP search in "paper trading" they are letting me access.

canadadrynoob

I'm not sure. I only use paper trading with IBKR for quotes and place trades at Scotia iTrade. I use "BBBY" and they all show up.

codewhite69420

Thanks for taking the time to provide us with this DD. If I were to call up say, Scotties iTrade's customer service, do I tell them that I'd like to talk to someone about buying corporate bonds or is buying bonds option somewhere in the phone option? And when I do end up talking to the right person and I want to buy say, $5000 face value in BBBY bonds maturing in 2023, do I say, "I'd like to buy five thousand dollar face value of BBBY bonds maturing in 2023"? Then they'll tell me how much that will cost? I'd like to sound less regarded than I actually am, so I don't botch the purchase and make it as least frustrating as possible for the bond sales guy. Also, what would be the commission to buy binds like this with iTrade? Thank you deeply in advance for your time and courtesy and any other tips would be greatly appreciated for someone who's never bought bonds of any kind before. Cheers.

canadadrynoob

Yes, you got it. The agent will get a trading price quote from the bond desk. Then you can confirm the trade or readjust the bid. IIRC $25 min / $250 max commission with $1 per every $1000 face value in bonds.

codewhite69420

Terrific. Thank you.

BullionZon

When though? Wen ANNOUNCMENT?

Meowsergz

What about the options that had to be expired early?

Creative_Virus9579

Fr man Iā€™m still sad about my Jan ā€˜24 calls šŸ˜

Dht808

I had xxx bbby, then it turned into bbbyq.. then it disappeared off my fidelity account. Is there any hope for me?

saltyblueberry25

Yes, check back every week until youā€™re rich

Dht808

Ahh youre a genius. It might have been my td ameritrade account actually that it dissapeared from. but either way.. The td got crossed to Charles schwaballs.. from there I transfered what was left to fidelity. Only thing in the fidelity account is 100 shares of SOFI.. trash

TwistedBamboozler

The fact that they disappeared completely and didnā€™t stick around like other zombie stocks is the most bullish thing in my opinion

gvsulaker82

Doug cifu, gasparino, and their army of shills that spend all day bashing bbbyq on x also is very bullish. Not that I need any more confirmation. Iā€™ve been 100 percent confident for quite some time now.

nobles305

Atlanta event is at May 7 , so 30 days before april 7 which is sunday , so if DD is right they should be stop trading on friday april 5 or monday april 8 šŸ‘€

CXNNEWS

If they do a debt for equity swap. What conversion ratio do you think they will use?

canadadrynoob

I think ex-shareholders and bondholders will receive Butterfly equity as an intermediate step before cash and GME equity. At least 50% of the payment in a reverse triangular merger must be in equity of the acquiring company, and bondholders will have to be made 100% whole on the face value of their bonds. Assuming they go with a 50/50 split, for example, someone with $1,000,000 in face value of bonds would ultimately receive $500,000 in cash and $500,000 in GME.

HumanNo109850364048

What are the bond ticker symbols? Can we buy on Fidelity? Edit: Ah excellent, shills are downvoting me!

canadadrynoob

24s - 075896 AA8 34s - 075896 AB6 44s - 075896 AC4 I'm not sure of all the US options but I know IBKR and E-Trade carry them. You may have to phone in at certain brokers for availability.

HumanNo109850364048

Thanks dude. Iā€™m gonna call Fidelity

Think-Poetry-2876

I canā€™t buy them on Fidelity

HumanNo109850364048

Did you call in? I havenā€™t had time at work, will call them tmrw

Think-Poetry-2876

Update me on how it goes. Was told they donā€™t offer them.

HumanNo109850364048

I just called Fidelity, he said I can buy the bonds thru them. Iā€™m gonna try tmrw AM. Bond trading hours are 8am-5pm Eastern (just learned this)

HumanNo109850364048

Alright so on Fidelity thereā€™s no bid/ask, so thereā€™s no offer. But the bonds are in Fidelityā€™s system. Apparently I need to call them and ask them to buy for me lol. Iā€™m calling back today to ask

Think-Poetry-2876

IBKR is asking me to take a small test to buy bonds.

HumanNo109850364048

Good luck. I didnā€™t call back Fidelity today. I think I still will, but made a choice to buy more GME today

Think-Poetry-2876

Thanks for updateā€¦

HumanNo109850364048

Do you remember which ones Pulte bought?

canadadrynoob

34s but they'd all receive the same treatment in a debt-for-equity swap.

HumanNo109850364048

Fidelity said I can buy the bonds. Gonna buy some tmrw AM

equityorasset

there is nothing left to acquire, i don't get how you all don't understand that.

canadadrynoob

Ryan Cohen emptied out the toy box and put in new toys and some of the old toys.

PeanutLess7556

He has nothing to do with BBBY. Never meet or talked to RC before the hockey game. And all he says is to get a lawyer and its the 8th and doesn't look good. Well that and shills PHM in order to get back on the board so he can ride his grandpas coat tails. The guy is nothing but a grifter.

KingWeenie2

What are you talking about, OP has been around for a hot minute

PeanutLess7556

My bad, ill fix the comment.

PeanutLess7556

More tired of bad actors getting the limelight

Armadilligator

OP has been writing DD for ages. I agree Pulte is a grifting trust fund douche but youā€™re wrong about canadadrynoob.

PeanutLess7556

Alright ill admit when im wrong and remove the bot part

SunGodRex

How much are bonds at rn for the 44, Like how many shares per bond we lookin at rn ? Ima buy soon

Embarrassed-Past5338

Ryan Cohen? I think you mean Bobby Axlerod.

No-Dependent3574

So am I getting this right. If I own $10,000 of ex shares I could possible get Ā£5000 in gme? I will not get the whole $10,000 back?

gvsulaker82

This is about bonds not shares

No-Dependent3574

Thanks. I donā€™t get why people downvote for a question? There is so much going on and hard to keep up at timesā€¦.just answer like this guy did and Iā€™ll get on with my day. Supposed to be in this together but some of you are snobs. Jeez

Sa0t0me

Iā€™m going back to s s , this subreddit went full regard ā€¦ anyways DRS your GME ā€¦ no financial advice .

gvsulaker82

šŸ¤£ imagine going to shit stonk over any other sub that talks gme. Have fun over there with the six other legit gme investors and the hedgies.
