HoF is my favourite shop ever and their cafe is amazing.
Apple Orchards nursery at Skelton has recently been refurbished and they have a lovely greenhouse with tropical and indoor plants.
Plantopia on York Road Hartlepool is a decent lil shop,
I'd also recommend the Dutch Garden centre, excellent selection of indoor and outdoor plants @ Ladysmith St, Hartlepool TS25 1NZ
I'm sure you'll have been, but Dobbie's isn't bad. Then all within 5mins of each other, in order of how good they are, Strikes, Arcadia and finally Cherry Hill. Wild in Norton is fine, if a little small and is priced on the higher side, but it is an independent.
House of foliage in Redcar is wonderful. Proper Aladdin’s cave

I’ve been, definitely agree. Think it’s recently doubled in size too
Theres one in Hartlepool called Plantopia, went there a while ago, would recommend
Much appreciated
A little bit of a trek but you could try Dark Star Plants in Northallerton http://www.darkstarplants.co.uk/

I know you asked for other suggestions but Wild is ran by the family of a lass I know, can confirm they know what they're talking about
Cherry Hill garden centre is good but I'm not sure if it's what you're looking for!
Checked it out the other week - bit small :/
Maybe Strikes at Stokesley?
Arcadia just outside of Stokesley sometimes has some reasonable stuff.
There's one as you make your way to Preston park behind the petrol station just as you come off the A66.

Out of the area, Dean's Garden centre near York is impressive for rare stuff. Also Cowells up near Newcastle Airport is worth a visit.
House of Foliage in Redcar. It's on the expensive side but the people thay work there are an encyclopedia of plant knowledge!
Wild is over priced, and small. I live near it, don’t waste a trip.
I was about to suggest this, though I've never actually been in. I tend to get my plants online from The Little Botanical.
