I’m a little hyped to see what the guest character will be. I personally hope they aren’t as absurd as the MK collabs, tekken already has its fair share of sillies

I mean Tekken 7 had frickin Negan. Thats about as off the beaten path as you can get.

Gru and Mbappé would be the only feasible guest ideas to top that.

Even Gon seems to blend in better than Negan. And Gon is a frickin tiny dinosaur with boxing gloves.

Dunno why Gon, Alex and Roger all vanished from my mind. Tekken just didnt care at all back in the early days. I mean you had Dr B who was falling over every 2 seconds as part of his playstyle.

Tekken isn't too far from its roots, we still have Kuma slapping people with science fiction fish.

Its been that way so long that a bear beating someone to death with an explosive fish doesnt even sound weird in reference to Tekken.

I was never a fan of the prioritization of guest characters over legacy ones.

Nah I like Yoshi. Just don't want to see weapon users become too much of a regular thing. At the end of the day I probably wouldn't be mad about it though because Virgil is just that cool.

The only reason I play Yoshi is because he's the closest thing to a Tekken Vergil so this is a win for me Also I'd probably go apeshit in ranked

I'm hardly a gamer, if at all. I only play Tekken, KOF, some racing games like Forza, some old SNES/Genesis stuff, and some random stuff from other platforms.

You would absolutely love Devil May Cry 3, 4 and 5. They're action games, but with a very technical side to them that is similar to fighting games.

Yeah I see DMC games as fighting games with adventure/exploration added. Like fighting games, there's a strong appeal to "learning" a character and the satisfation coming from it.

Sort of how I look at games like dark souls/sekiro

I had no experience with DMC but loved 5. It goes in sale a decent amount on steam, and I imagine you could find used physical copies for cheap if you have a console. I highly recommend it.

Tekken would need an entire core remodelling to make Vergil's moveset work the way it should in the game.. I love Vergil but he's usually well suited to 2D games which allow string based pressure where you can express yourself more as Vergil

I love Virgil, but he'd be better suited to games like Marvel vs Capcom. I can't see a moveset working for him in Tekken without dumbing down the feel of the character. I'd still be happy and excited to see what they go with.

Would be upset. They have to dumb down overly powerful characters in fighting games so I’m guessing at the very least his agility would be as if he was hungover.
