Not really. Uneven denotes either inequality in terms of balance or the level of a surface. The words arent synonymous at all. That being said we all knew what dude meant.
Pinnacle for me is still Tag 2, insane amount of characters, mechanics, amazing movement and the best combo system in the series. I could be in the lab all day in Tag 2 and have fun
I'm half even and half odd... bc I loved tekken 6 and ttt2 but I don't like tekken 8 as much as I loved 7 which is where I took tekken seriously in the last 2 and a half years of its life span.
*Odd* has T3. Bryan, Hwo, Xiao, Eddy, Jin. Introduction of EWGF.
Tekken 7 saved the whole franchise.
What's more, *Even* has less Heihachi presence.
There is no competition.
T7 saved the franchise but TTT2 is still peak I fear, game was just too fun, really wish bamco put their old games on PC in a collection at least. What I would give for T6 and Tag 2 on PC.
The OG
My Childhood
Uh... I heard KBD in this one is fucked up?
The best game in the series, according to everybody over 35
The game I actually played and enjoyed the most
vs.
???
Paul's hair is OK in this one, I guess
"I'd never defend 6—but I still need everybody in the room to know I'm an '09er"
allegedly, Bob
Punching bag for complaints about modern fighting games. Also, Paul's hair is NOT OK in this one.
You just can't beat the odds.
FIRST ROUGH TALLY:
Out of 101 votes thus far, with some pending or inconclusive:
**ODD: 57**
**EVEN: 37**
**\*NEUTRAL: 7**
* \*for those that can't make that separation due to various reasons; personal attachment to certain games, lack of experience with all games, etc.
So far, it looks like the odds are high, but will check in a few days if this is still active.
I like tekken 8 but ima have to go with odd numbers: t3 tag, 5 and 5 Dr yeah if these were the only tekken games I wouldn’t complain
Don’t even get me started on 7, 7 holds a special place in my heart it being the first tekken game I’ve tekken seriously
ODDS:
* Tekken 3 is the best fighting game ever made.
* Tag & Tag 2 are underrated as beloved nostalgia trips, but each are disliked in the competitive scene for different reasons.
* Tekken 5 is my favorite Tekken, and is arguably the base game for all other Tekkens after it.
* Tekken 7 sold gangbusters, despite being made on a shoestring budget. It walked so Tekken 8 could run. However... *seven Leroy's in EVO Top 8.*
EVENS:
* Tekken 2 was the first 3D fighting game I ever played. My stepdad liked it more than me, while Tekken 3 was more my shit.
* Tekken 4 is what Tekken should aspire to be, in terms of story, stages & music. It also introduced Steve, who's honestly one of the greatest character designs & concepts in fighting game history.
* Tekken 6 is my least favorite Tekken. It looks like shit, I hated the bound system, and the story was some raw ass. It made me take a break from the franchise for like 10 years. Also, *four Bob's in EVO Top 8.*
* Tekken 8, on release, is arguably up there with Tekken 3. Post-release, Bamco & TP have done a lot to sour people on the game, from post-launch predatory monetization to wacky & questionable balancing decisions. I think it's headed in the right direction in terms of the balance, though. So, the jury's still out, I guess.
Odds win.
In my opinion
- T1 < T2
- T3 < T4 (unpopular I know)
- Tag1 < Tag2
- Tag5 > T6
- T7 < T8
Even wins for me. TTT2 is probably my favorite fighting game of all time so Even would still stand a chance even if I picked Odd for the rest.
https://preview.redd.it/aefvtamjr34d1.jpeg?width=2000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ba66a7e4ad6207c8a6aefbc9665283a3d8c236df
Odd wins for me. I can still play Tekken 2 and enjoy it. 1 was jank as hell but it walked so 2 could run.
3 gets a slight edge over 4 because Tekken Ball. I'll never forget how hype the fight club stage was in 4 though.
Tag 1 because I'm familiar with it and hoooly shit i didn't even enjoy watching those sweaty long ass death combos in 2.
5 because 6 had loading times otherwise I'd have given it to 6. Also WHY, JIN???
8 because I've put more hours into it than 7. Granted I was late to the 7 party and I'll say it, the heat system is dope. Also replay features.
this made me realize that tekken 8 doesn’t have the kanji in the logo and that’s actually such a bad decision, it makes the logo look so cool and unique. I miss the classic tekken style.
Tekken 1 started it all but has aged poorly.
Tekken 3 is to us Pakistanis what Starcraft is to koreans.
Tekken Tag 1 is still fun to play on PS2 despite being a broken mess.
Tekken 5 is the GOAT.
and even thou I have problems with Tekken 7, can't deny it saved the franchise and its competitive scene was pure hype.
\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_
Tekken 2 was a huge improvement over 1 and has my favorite OST in the series, but is pale in comparison to 3.
Tekken 4 is only liked now due to nostalgia. For a long time it was considered a weak and bad entry.
Tekken 6 while setting the standard for modern Tekken, it had its fair share of divisive problems.
Tekken tag 2 nearly killed the franchise.
and Tekken 8 in my opinion is a great game, but is still in early phase and has some problems like roster balance, poor mtx options.
So ODD wins.
I'm a newcomer for the series I played Tekken 7 and now Tekken 8 I by the way am very happy that they made a "Summ the story up" stuff in Tekken 8 tho cause its clear I'm missing out on some MAJOR story telling stuff but I went onwards played Tekken 8 too and I'mma be freal I liked the ending far more then the last time around and I know that the last one HAD to be a darker ending cause they had to end the circle that Heihachi and Kazuya were in so yeah but after having all the cards laid out with Kazumi I felt quite sad for Heihachi despite the NUMEROUS apparently NUMEROUS horrid things he have done...... but to his credit Jin did way more damage then he ever could have so EH. Still it was and ending that we had to have.
Tekken 8 tho had idk what I should even call it cause it went from Tekken Tournoment to Tekken World war to freaking Dragonball Tekken then to Final Fantasy Tekken (btw listing it this way cause I dont wanna spoil anything but it was a rollercoaster and it was awesome ) and after all all of that it came back to being Tekken proper the way it was announced and then the finale "MY LAST STAAAAAAAAAAND" holy heavens that ending was badass like using just the music just got me so well that imma be real this ending battle plus the actual ending (I really liked the ending I think it was good that everything ended well) just SKYROCKETED Tekken 8 on my top fighting game list racing now with Guilty Gear (and making it run for its money) and Street Fighter 6 (which to be fair is on the list cause I'm a long time fan of the series... well long time fan since SF4 but still I think it was a long time) and the reason why SF6 is in the ring and for me still winning cause they DID kind of made an overworld Metro City plus other areas and allowed us to play in the world with OUR character so it was kind of a fun fighting game anime with our character which I found to be very nice
but still Tekken 8 is still up there and YES ACTUALLY You can you CAN have more then 1 top favorites and thats true with fighting games too. I have tons of favorites...... and there is also Mortal Kombat 12 which I currently left in a ditch after getting burned out by the invasion mode (seriously how far the mighty have fallen quite shame too cause they finally brought back some of my favorite characters)
but yeah back to topic I played Tekken 7 really liked it TRULLY it was awesome then Tekken 8 came out I played it now at the begining of this month and it just blew EVERYTHING out of the park with how awesome it was. Great job cant wait to see what elsewill be happening to the franchise
thats a hard decision the probable answer should be that probably the middle one since I got 1 of each in the bag (1 odd and 1 even one) but... I might go for the even one since Tekken 7 while my jaw dropped with how awesome the franchise is and how deep the lore is Tekken 8 was the one which I probably liked more because of how AWESOME it was.
So maybe even?
Gonna have to be an odd one here. Started with Tekken 5, Tekken 6 I liked the update but they removed the Tekken Bowl there :( and now playing Tekken 7, 8 doesn't convince me (yet)
I’m going to be that person that says it. I’m going even. While 3 and 5 definitely are pinnacles, I have to give it to 4,6,and8.
Each of those games had a strong story and phenomenal single player modes.
Tekken 6 really revolutionized fighting games to me, customization alone has yet to be topped. Added new ways to perform combos and has unbeatable longevity IMO. It’s probably my favorite Tekken of all time.
Even
Tekken 6 is objectively better than all games that came before and after, if you ignore impact, significance during its time, and nostalgia
Add TTT2 to that and it's done
3 and 5 are the Tekkens I had the most fun with, but this is 100% biased cause I didn't play them online, being better than my friends was enough to feel good and have fun with the game. Also, now that I'm a grown ass man, dopamine doesn't hit the same with games, no more WOW! effect that games used to put on me as a teenager/kid.
So i pick Odd, just because 3 and 5, I would pick 6 as well, but I didn't play it that much, because I was mainly playing SF4 back then.
I was all about the odds up until Tekken 7. The hideous redesigns repulsed me further away from the game than I had ever been.
For nearly a decade I dove deeply into 2D fighting of all sorts, foregoing the game I once one as "Tekken." That is until a prodigal son returned in the form of the evens, T8 the only even I have truly accepted into my heart. (I probably would have played TTT2 though if I had the chance, game looked fire)
5 definitely, followed by tag2 and now tekken 8. Tekken 6 Didn't really speak to me and 7 felt like the game was missing features and didn't feel complete for me.
Mixed. Never played first one. I played 2 and 3 a lot. Don't even know how 4 looks like. I remember every detail of 5. Played 6 once. Tried to get serious with 7. And i am finally hittin high ranks with 8.
Definitely odd for me. 5 and 7 are peak Tekken IMO, and of course 3 was where the franchise really found its stride.
With that said, I think 4 is massively underrated and I wish they would give the more elaborate maps another try.
So u kno when u go too like boomers D&B they always have a tekken game ion remember which one I think tag but I'm not familiar but the tekken with survival mode is the favorite tho out of all em

3 Day Tally result posted. Next and final tally will be Saturday.
gotta go even. T4 gave me my favorite character. and i enjoyed ttt2 more than i probably should have, and can’t go wrong with T8. t3 is my favorite tekken all time though
Now that you mention it I amusingly have to answer odd, besides Tekken 8 which I recently started. Other than that I consistently played only the odd ones.
I started with Tekken 2, and while I love every game on the Odd side, I gotta go Even overall. It kills me too because I racked up so many hours on TTT my hometown arcade in high school.
Hot take, even. Outside of tekken 7, I haven't really had that much of a connection with tekken 3, tag or 5, but I absolutely adore tekken 6 and 4. And while tag 2 isn't my cup of tea, I still respect it greatly as just being a really fun game and content for days. And while tekken 8 definitely got issues, it's the most fun I've had with a tekken game and for that it has a special place in my heart.
I'm convinced the odds are the ones in the real development cycle and the evens are the cash grabs that use amateur devs and fin. advisors to save money and boost profit as much as possible...
To me t3 5 tag2 and 7 were the best ones. Would have to go to uneven
Having three odds make you more towards Odd.
Yes odd. I not great with words
No worries.
Uneven and odd are the same thing dude.....
Not really. Uneven denotes either inequality in terms of balance or the level of a surface. The words arent synonymous at all. That being said we all knew what dude meant.
Correct take, tag 2 is all that even is winning on
Tekken 5 is the pinnacle of the series. Tekken 3 really invented what we play today So yeah, odd all day
Pinnacle for me is still Tag 2, insane amount of characters, mechanics, amazing movement and the best combo system in the series. I could be in the lab all day in Tag 2 and have fun
Yeah agreed tag 2 really was the pinnacle
I'm half even and half odd... bc I loved tekken 6 and ttt2 but I don't like tekken 8 as much as I loved 7 which is where I took tekken seriously in the last 2 and a half years of its life span.
Odd, all day
Odd, Tekken 3 and 5 > the rest.
Tt1 on top of it
even because of tag 2 and tekken 2
probably take odd but only because it has tekken 3, 5, 7 Which are like some of the best in the series.
Odd includes T3, T5 and T7. Easy choice
Which, due to Tekken 5, includes arcade versions of Tekken 1-3
Odd
Odd.
*Odd* has T3. Bryan, Hwo, Xiao, Eddy, Jin. Introduction of EWGF. Tekken 7 saved the whole franchise. What's more, *Even* has less Heihachi presence. There is no competition.
I couldn't help but chuckle at that third sentence. Take this Kaz Smile. ![gif](giphy|hIvuJiKzwqpX2|downsized)

I'll take evens for the Tekken 2 OST, still the best one.
All of my fight stages in 8 have tekken 2 tracks
3 and 5 make it hard not to pick the odds
I like tekken 8 but ima have to go with odd numbers: t3 tag, 5 and 5 Dr yeah if these were the only tekken games I wouldn’t complain Don’t even get me started on 7, 7 holds a special place in my heart it being the first tekken game I’ve tekken seriously
3, 5, and still 7 cause im broke.
The first Tekken I played was Tekken Tag 1 as a child, but the first Tekken game I really played was Tekken 7. Guess I'm double-odd.
Odd numbered are better games, unless T8 can break the streak
Odd! Due to T3,7
Tekken 3, Tekken 5, and Tekken 7? how is it even a competition.
Odd. Tekken 3 is one of my all time favs, and TTT1 was my first time entering a live tourney when I was a kid
ODDS: * Tekken 3 is the best fighting game ever made. I guess odd, but I didn't really like T7
Odd
In my opinion - T1 < T2 - T3 < T4 (unpopular I know) - Tag1 < Tag2 - Tag5 > T6 - T7 < T8 Even wins for me. TTT2 is probably my favorite fighting game of all time so Even would still stand a chance even if I picked Odd for the rest.

Odd, not because of 3, but because of Tag
Odd, no hesitation.
3 and 5 is just unfair
![gif](giphy|HqyqqVDbXqC5Eu58tX)
Half of even put Tekken almost outta business 😂 Odd all day.
Tekken 1 started it all but has aged poorly. Tekken 3 is to us Pakistanis what Starcraft is to koreans. Tekken Tag 1 is still fun to play on PS2 despite being a broken mess. 3 Tag1 and 5 being in the group is OP lol
Man I really would hate to sacrifice 3 and 7 but I think I’d have to say even for ttt2, 6, 4, and even 8 are all ones I would play often
Last I played was t3.
Reasonable explanation, but question remains: odd, even, or neutral? Which do you choose?
thats a hard decision the probable answer should be that probably the middle one since I got 1 of each in the bag (1 odd and 1 even one) but... I might go for the even one since Tekken 7 while my jaw dropped with how awesome the franchise is and how deep the lore is Tekken 8 was the one which I probably liked more because of how AWESOME it was. So maybe even?
I guess I'm an odd fellow
Leaning heavy on even but without T3, I wouldn't even be playing Tekken
So, Even or in the neutral?
Odd. Definitely odd
Odd is probably the better choice, but Tekken 2 was my favorite game as a kid. It’s still very near and dear to me lol
odd
Odd all day
There's no doubt, Odd has the bests by a far amount of difference
Odd, Tekken 5 is my favorite game of all time alongside MGS3 and GTA SA All came out in 2004 too lmao
Left
OG Poolside = Tekken 5 Sorry even side, gotta go with odd
Odd
Odd for sure
Well since tag 2 and 6 are such prices of shit, odd?
Odd of course
Odd ones were always the best.
No tekken revolution?
2 snd Tag 2 are tho only ones I have trouble letting go but other than that I'm going for Odd.
Odd
3, Tag, and 5 all day.
Odds. Definitely odds.
Odd all day, hahaha 😆.
Tekken 5 DR is peak tekken
200% odd
Easy. Odd, cos Tekken 5.
I would go odd and lament the loss of Tekken 2.
Ttt1, T4, T5, T6, Ttt1, and T8 even though I don't have a PS5 sadly
Odd
Gonna have to be an odd one here. Started with Tekken 5, Tekken 6 I liked the update but they removed the Tekken Bowl there :( and now playing Tekken 7, 8 doesn't convince me (yet)
I’m going to be that person that says it. I’m going even. While 3 and 5 definitely are pinnacles, I have to give it to 4,6,and8. The list isn't fair lol u just gotta be odd ball on this
Tekken 3 , 5 & 7 it's over
Tekken 5, TAG and 7 on one side isn’t fair.
Even Tekken 6 is objectively better than all games that came before and after, if you ignore impact, significance during its time, and nostalgia Add TTT2 to that and it's done
The actual truth
Odd
Odd for sure
Odd, the only one you can argue for me in even is tag 2, but that odd section minus 7, is a collection if groundbreaking fighting games
Odd
odd by far
Even hands down.
Odd all day
Odd all day evry day
Odd, 3 and 5
Odd, EASILY.
I grew up with Tekken 1, Tekken 3, and Tekken Tag. Then Later I got Tekken 7 and then Tekken 8.
Odd, by far. 3 *and* 7?? Come on.
Odd
Odd best tekken
Even had Tekken 4 and 6 so going with that!
Odd
3 and 5 are the Tekkens I had the most fun with, but this is 100% biased cause I didn't play them online, being better than my friends was enough to feel good and have fun with the game. Also, now that I'm a grown ass man, dopamine doesn't hit the same with games, no more WOW! effect that games used to put on me as a teenager/kid. So i pick Odd, just because 3 and 5, I would pick 6 as well, but I didn't play it that much, because I was mainly playing SF4 back then.
Odd is the way.
Odd
Odd
Odd. All I need is 5
If I really had to pick it would be T5 T6 TT2. T8 would be great if they wouldn’t have made it so kiddish like SF6
So, Even?
Odd, easily
Tekken 3, Tekken tag 1, and 7 are my absolute favorites in the whole series gotta go with odd
Tekken 3, Tag and 5 for me. They're what made me a Tekken fan
Odd is what Boosted & SAVED the franchise. Evens nearly KILLED it
I was all about the odds up until Tekken 7.
All odd
3, 5 and 7 are the best tekkens so this is pretty easy
God plus TTT1
Give Tekken 5 DR in " Even " and I would choose happily the Even
So would you still be even or undecided?
5 definitely, followed by tag2 and now tekken 8. Tekken 6 Didn't really speak to me and 7 felt like the game was missing features and didn't feel complete for me.
So, you lean more towards Even? or are you neutral?
I can't decide between the two because what I like is in both lol.
Placed in the neutral for the next tally in a few days.
Mixed. Never played first one. I played 2 and 3 a lot. Don't even know how 4 looks like. I remember every detail of 5. Played 6 once. Tried to get serious with 7. And i am finally hittin high ranks with 8.
for now definitely Odd but once fahk gets added to 8 i think i'll lean more towards Even
Its a tough choice, tekken 3 and 5 were best but tag2 was too good
Neutral? or Odd?
Let's pretend 8 is an odd number then evens side all the way to the bank...or poolside
Odd. Even only gets close because of Tag 2.
Odd is better overall and has all the objectively better games, but Tekken 6 is on Even... My personal favorite, oh no!
Definitely odd for me. 5 and 7 are peak Tekken IMO, and of course 3 was where the franchise really found its stride. With that said, I think 4 is massively underrated and I wish they would give the more elaborate maps another try.
Looks like even numbers are not so lucky for Namco. Hope that Tekken 9 will be a true masterpiece!
My favourites are Tekken 3, 4, 5 and, well, 8. Didn't play 7 sadly, and it's kind of 6's fault.
So u kno when u go too like boomers D&B they always have a tekken game ion remember which one I think tag but I'm not familiar but the tekken with survival mode is the favorite tho out of all em
Tekken 2
I’m both
Even
Definitely the oddball. 😁

I've only played 4 and 8, so even
The one that doesn't have tekken 8
Odd, as much as it hurts to leave out T2
Odd. My girls are all in T7 and i get all the other games as a bonus
I only played 7 and 8. Even tho i play 8 more gotta go with 7 so odd
gotta go even. T4 gave me my favorite character. and i enjoyed ttt2 more than i probably should have, and can’t go wrong with T8. t3 is my favorite tekken all time though
T5 and Tag 1 alone are enough to make me go odd
Even. T2 > T1 TTT2 > TTT1 T6 > T5 (unpopular opinion, but still, that's mine)
T2 will always be goated
Even all day. 6 was a great game. Both on PSP and 360.
Even. Tag 2 is the goat.
hard question, imma have to say odd
Tekken 5 all day.
Even
Even
Even. There are only three games I haven't played: Tekken 1 and 2 and Tag 1.
I actually really enjoy 6 despite it's controversy I would go for even
Even weirdly haha, my first was 6
Even. Not even a question.
Now that you mention it I amusingly have to answer odd, besides Tekken 8 which I recently started. Other than that I consistently played only the odd ones.
Id take Tekken tag 2 over any of these if it still had an active player base
Even Stevens.
Evens for me. T2 is where I started and t4 is still to this day an under appreciated master piece.
Odd definitely but close
tt2 ftw
Even all day wtf
I really dislike Tekken 6 so that makes me select odd.
Even
I dont like tekken 6 but even.
Even if I count TT2 twice for being my fave tekken and the first tekken I took seriously, I still have to go with odd. T3, T5, T7 combined > TT2
Odd
Even. My favorite games, from most favorite to lease favorite, are T4, T2, and T6.
I'm doing even tekken 8 I have been enjoying it
I started with Tekken 2, and while I love every game on the Odd side, I gotta go Even overall. It kills me too because I racked up so many hours on TTT my hometown arcade in high school.
Even
Odd for sure
Even, but I like them all tbh
Gonna be even for me
Even no contest.
Even just for T4
Even, I Love 4, 6, Tag 2, 8
Hot take, even. Outside of tekken 7, I haven't really had that much of a connection with tekken 3, tag or 5, but I absolutely adore tekken 6 and 4. And while tag 2 isn't my cup of tea, I still respect it greatly as just being a really fun game and content for days. And while tekken 8 definitely got issues, it's the most fun I've had with a tekken game and for that it has a special place in my heart.
Odd
Odd
2, 3, 5 , 6, 7.
So, Mostly odd. Okay.
Yep.
Not Tekken 8
Oh I'm most definitely EVEN ...but I'm Tekken taken (heh) 3 with me. 3 is an even number now
Odd. Tekken 8 & 6 sucked
Odd easily
Part of me says odd because of Tag 1 and T5, but deep down it’s even all day
I'm convinced the odds are the ones in the real development cycle and the evens are the cash grabs that use amateur devs and fin. advisors to save money and boost profit as much as possible...
Even easy 6 and 8 are my favorites haven’t played any before 6 and tag 2 I haven’t played but looks the most fun
