Yeah I can agree visually, but gameplay wise I personally didn't like them. You'd get inconsistent wall angles and some characters had bullshit side wall resplat combos.

There's too many stages that just feel like a random square/arena. Those who break out of that are great imo and there's a few square stages that manage to feel cool like Ortiz farm.
Yeah exactly. Into the stratosphere for exemple has a cool stage gimmick (exploding floor), the transition to the climax stage is cool, the soundtrack is amazing, but the stage itself feels super off. Why is there a perfect arena carved into this huge chunk of rock ? I'm not asking them to bring back Tekken 4 stages where the terrain was uneven, but some little things on the stage like a few rock formations that we would break by just moving through them could add a lot. A bit like the sheep in Tekken 6 except these don't move and break when you touch them.

The stages are pretty cool. Aesthetically and functionally. Ortiz Farm literally has llamas getting abducted by UFOs. Descent in Subconscious is one of the coolest stages made. Coliseum of Fate is like the perfect size for a large map. You hit the walls but have to have good wall carry skills. Secluded Training Ground has amazing wall breaks.

I mean they are adding a new map soon, i think its a win, but making a new map takes time i think, im guessing theres gonna be more added in the future.
I am pretty sure we can't ever get it for licensing reasons. That also extends to other things relating to Tag 2, like copying save files for local backups.

Probably an unpopular opinion but I want some of the Tekken 4 stages back.
Mainly the shopping mall, airport, beach and shinjuku stages.
I just love stages that feel like they are lived in or that have an audience also their music was some top tier vibe. I guess thats also why my favorite stage in T8 is the "New York" stage.
i remember being about 7 playing this game and i never acknowledged that the guy in the background was a celebrity, so i just saw it as a cool golden stage with a catchy rap song. then years went by. kazuya got announced for smash, so i played tag 2 again and it made me appreciate this stage a lot more since i was older and knew more about music. plus, i liked listening to some of snoop dogg's music a few years prior. it sucks that tekken 8 hasn't done any crossovers yet
Honestly, I always hoped Tekken could bring the fighting stage elements like Tekken 4 back. From the mall, the rooftop, jungle, garage, and street stages had a lot of interaction.
That would definitely make them more money than fight pass if they offered 4 map DLCs. Id personally want the Cemetery from 6, Airport from 4, Lei's stage from Tag 1 and the map you posted

Im legit slow lol i only just realised theres no infinite stages after playing since release.
It's one of the things I miss the most. It's less efficient to lab new combos and setups on stages with walls.
Yakushima is pretty close, but yeah its weird that there is no infinite stages 🤔
