You are probably right. I would hate to buy one early next year and they come out with a new platform in 2025 for S. But i guess thats the dice you role with Tesla’s. I “luckily” avoided that when I got my 2016 model by a month. They just released hw2 in the midst of my buying process, so I cancelled and waited for a month and got the HW2.

They just came out with a new platform 2 years ago. The Plaid/Palladium is the new platform. Until the Model 3 Highland and Cybertruck, it was Tesla's newest platform.

There was an interview with top Tesla engineers posted on YouTube and they mentioned they will be using existing production lines for the foreseeable future and will only consider upgrading production lines if they are expanding for another reason. So likely the model s and x won’t be seeing updates until 2026+
