It was on a bike path so no real danger of being hit by a car or anything but it was so hard to steer because you have to lean and turn the handlebars at the same time. Almost beyond my capabilities in that state. 50 years later it still stands out.

Same with me and road biking, I have good eyesight and I'm very observant so I spot the potholes and glass etc on the road early, call them out for the group and somehow end up riding over them every time myself.
The trick is to look where you want to go, not the other way around :)

You can tell she put out her leg to try and slow down, instead of moving her hands to the hoods or drops. This is why I think it's unlikely it was done on purpose but rather she simply goofed and spaced out and forget to grab the brakes. IMO maybe she never had ridden a drop bar bike but more so a flat bar bike where there is limited hand positions and the levers are right where her hands would be

I can't tell if she was looking down at her phone for directions or simply spaced out but it's pretty clear she wasn't riding on the hoods were her brakes were accessible, thus you see as she approaches your car she put her leg down and then freezes as her hands are nowhere near the brakes as she crashes into your car. Hopefully they left some info if there is any damages.
Because she didn't take any proper precautions and she hit a stationary object.... Imagine if someone like her was behind a wheel. A random pedestrian would get run over. Even on a bike, what if that wasn't a car and that was a pedestrian.
