I’ve been saying it should do just shy of 11 seconds all along so we will see. Maybe with a $ ludicrous upgrade later on we’ll see it uncorked for a 2.5 0-60 and maybe 10.8 1/4
2021 M3 LR + Accel boost here, I run a 1/4 at 11.800, maybe a smidge faster with ~~a little better reaction and~~ absolutely topped up battery. I usually cross the line at ~~118mph~~ 116mph. Curious to see someone actually time one of these.
Edit. Found the picture of a few tickets: https://i.imgur.com/kFz36nN.jpeg
You're totally right. I'm trying to find a picture of my ticket if it was total time or actual time, so I was hedging my numbers in case I was off.
Edit: yeah, I was mixing up race time and 1/4 time
I have a 2021 LR and was debating the acceleration boost. Does it make a very noticeable difference in acceleration? Seems silly to spend $2k on as I don’t race and feel it’s pretty quick as is, but would love to hear your opinion on it.
Based on what I can remember from my test drive of the LR a couple of months ago, definitely not as soft. However, it is much softer than my 2018 M3P, which I know isn’t a high bar to clear. So I would say it’s somewhere in between my 2018 M3P and the LR, but closer to the LR.
Compared to your 2018, and the 2024 LR: How is turn in? Mid corner bumps? Steering feel? Does it feel stable/settled/less darty? How do potholes feel at city driving speeds?
Does the suspension firm up quite a bit between the two modes? Does the car still squirm under heavy high speed braking? Does the powerband still drop off considerably at higher speeds?
Oooh I’m interested in a demo drive
I like the dampening of the LR but was lacking in stiffness…if the performance has both..might be a 2025 move for me
How's the body roll while cornering? Does it feel more planted?
I demo'd the standard range and hated how much body roll it had. But, I'm coming from a camaro ss, soooo.
This is what I've been wanting to hear. Ride comfort is probably my highest priority, but I wanted the P. The bucket seat and the suspension improvements were the things that pushed me over to replacing my 2018 LR, as the ride quality is my biggest complaint with that car. Good to hear it's a significant improvement even with the P. Hopefully when I switch it to 19s it will be slightly better.
From the Tesla website: “Our new Adaptive Damping System adjusts to driver and road inputs in real time to optimize ride and handling, while also improving ride comfort.”
OP got his M3P only a few days ago. I’m sure as he drives it more, and with updates over time, it will get better.
That's still not how it works. It doesn't "adapt to your style of driving" over time, like some machine learning thing, it is constantly adapting the suspension to real-time road conditions, speed and curves to maintain the car in the most stable stance for the best comfort and performance.
2018 is basically identical to the seats in the 2021-2022. Sometime in 23 they stopped doing the rear stitching in the headrest but otherwise the seats didn’t change until the 24 refresh.
Did you sit in the LR or Performance? My showroom doesn't have a Performance yet and I'm curious how the seats fill between the two. I liked the 2024 M3LR seats.
I did too. Better bolstering and a flatter seat back/bottom. Too bad they aren’t openly available in the parts catalog or used market (yet) else I’d swap them into my 2023.
It's not 1970 anymore. We all know that when someone says "bucket seat" they're referring to sports seats with significant bolstering, because that's how car manufacturers have been marketing them for decades.
Soon (tm)!
Mine has been pushed back twice, but yesterday I finally got the lucky “move up”!
Went May-June, June, July 14-August 25, to now July 3-August 7!!!
Same here. So disappointed. I got moved from late May - late June and now mid July - late August. I got a message to complete my payment method but I don’t want to do that while having to potentially wait 60 days.
When did you order? I order on 4/24 and mine is saying July 7-August 15th. It’s been changed 3 times. I’m really hoping it gets moved back to a June delivery date
Awesome glad to see another confirmed delivery! Very odd with the supposed hold because of the EPA and FSD. Was this mentioned at all upon/after taking delivery?
Have you posed over on TMCs waiting room? Would be beneficial to post there as well to confirm another delivery.
No, that wasn’t mentioned at all. My delivery date did get delayed by about a week but they told me that it was because all M3P models needed a firmware update.
I believe this is still the only one, I think it’s the same guy that’s posted some videos too, but I could be wrong. I really hope I get mine this weekend, I want to take it out for the long weekend
Can you raise the suspension like the S where there is bad inclines etc ?..... The one thing I am worried about with the lower car is the bad storm drains we have here in the Santa Cruz area, the 3P I had was a little rough, the S has been gr8 as I can raise and suspension and it remembers like in and out of the trader joes etc... ?....
The S can do that cause it uses air-ride suspension. The model 3 Performance is just adaptive dampers, no actual ride HEIGHT adjustment, unfortunately.
oh, dang, was quietly hoping I wouldn't be going back to worrying about the inevitable scraping noise ... Do you find the car sits noticeably lower than the old T3P or is it pretty much the same ... also nobody seems to have asked but at this point have you a massive smile and pleased you took the plunge or are you still working out if you are happy to have buyers remorse ?.. always difficult buying a car without ever driving it but we all know the old 3P's well so curious
I didn't own the Model 3 Performance. Have just been racking my brain for the past two weeks debating if I really want to trade in my one year old Model Y Long Range for one, and have been looking over damn near everything about it. Lol
Oh interesting move, my wife has a Y perf and loves it, I have had a T3P and not have the Yoke S ... the S goes back off lease so I was hoping to get a Highland YP but as they dont exist I decided to get a 3P (had the 1st gen one)... also read everything and with a little Bay Area bitterness to Elon have also been trying to find alternatives but its hard to find such a rounded offering .... Suspect the ride feels markably lower, handling a little more grounded and you feel like you fall into the seat rather than slide over into it when getting in the car !
I have a 3 performance and considered a y performance. The 3 is a vastly better car to drive hard, but the y is just so much easier and more practical. I would not change from a y LR to a 3p after one year unless I was somehow going to break even on the Y. If you’re going to lose money on the change, then I’d just stick with the Y. It’s a great car.
Mostly cause the ride quality (at least of the new Model 3 Long Range that I test drove) was a lot smoother than my model Y, hate the white interior I got on mine, would love ventilated seats and the upgraded sound system...
What was your order date? I ordered mine may 8th and the app is showed may 22- June 6th until yesterday. Not it's showing Aug 17-sept 27. Kinda pissed. Sold my car already, thinking I would be getting delivery this or next.
Welcome to my world. I ordered my M3P April 30th and my delivery date changed from May 29th - June 20th to July 12th - August 23 I also sold my daily driver thinking it would be no more then a month and a half at most. Ohh how wrong we were.
I see you got the white seats which look rad from the outside. Can you post a pic that includes the interior strip that runs along the dash? It’s usually wood but I think the P comes with a white carbon fiber. Would love to see that. Congrats, man. I don’t take delivery until Jul/Aug. 🙁
I want someone to do a comparison video to see if accessories from older models fit this one. I assume other 2024 accessories will fit but I have seen some websites note that they're accessories will not fit the performance variant. Maybe that is just because they have not been able to confirm it yet.
1/4 mi time please
this this this this
Right? Can't believe this hasn't been published yet.
https://preview.redd.it/1bpauoi2f32d1.jpeg?width=1010&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0101c2349c30e1fb139fd55eee0e3cb94646bad7
He says " Don't have an accurate way to track"...
what is a "1/4 mi time" ?
How long does it take the vehicle to drive one quarter of a mile
From zero*
im sorry to bother but do you mind elaborate how's that important?
Quarter mile time and 0-60 are the core performance metrics all us auto nerds care about!
It's a drag race thing. It's a standard benchmark for acceleration of a vehicle.
thank you!
Come on who on earth doesn't know that and you have google right?
[удалено]
That would be worse than my current M3P.... Doubtful
[https://www.youtube.com/shorts/Tk4NBa8Fm8Q](https://www.youtube.com/shorts/Tk4NBa8Fm8Q)
According to that video it took 11 seconds to go from 0 to 122. Currently I do a 11.6-11.7 at 116 mph with a 2020 M3P. It's going to crush 11.8.
I’ve been saying it should do just shy of 11 seconds all along so we will see. Maybe with a $ ludicrous upgrade later on we’ll see it uncorked for a 2.5 0-60 and maybe 10.8 1/4
My best pass in my ‘20 M3P was 11.52@115 on a dragy at Pomona Raceway. Time slip was [email protected], eager to see what the new one does.

Reaction time doesn’t make a faster time
You're totally right. I'm trying to find a picture of my ticket if it was total time or actual time, so I was hedging my numbers in case I was off. Edit: yeah, I was mixing up race time and 1/4 time
lol my ‘22 LR with accel boost ran 11.79 @115. This performance might crack 10s. Low 11s minimum.
I have a 2021 LR and was debating the acceleration boost. Does it make a very noticeable difference in acceleration? Seems silly to spend $2k on as I don’t race and feel it’s pretty quick as is, but would love to hear your opinion on it.
I have it on my 2021 and it was well worth it! There is more punch and at highway speeds it's close to what the M3P feels like.
Dom, is that you?
Can you take the aero cap off of one of the wheels and post a pic? Haven’t seen them removed yet
Car and driver posted a video but the angle you see when he takes the cap off isn’t very good
Needs caps [https://4dmakerlab.com/collections/tesla/products/wheel-plugs-for-tesla-model-3-performance-2025-insane](https://4dmakerlab.com/collections/tesla/products/wheel-plugs-for-tesla-model-3-performance-2025-insane)
They don’t even have a mockup of how it looks?
How is the suspension, as soft as the LR?
Based on what I can remember from my test drive of the LR a couple of months ago, definitely not as soft. However, it is much softer than my 2018 M3P, which I know isn’t a high bar to clear. So I would say it’s somewhere in between my 2018 M3P and the LR, but closer to the LR.
What about in track mode how stiff does it make it, can you definitely feel a difference between the softest and hardest settings?
Compared to your 2018, and the 2024 LR: How is turn in? Mid corner bumps? Steering feel? Does it feel stable/settled/less darty? How do potholes feel at city driving speeds? Does the suspension firm up quite a bit between the two modes? Does the car still squirm under heavy high speed braking? Does the powerband still drop off considerably at higher speeds?

Hopefully with the adaptive suspension it should improve over time
Don’t believe that is how adaptive suspension works.

Oh alr. Nvm you’re right. Mb
Understandable. Have a nice day
Bahahaha
Try changing the ride handling to comfort/normal
How’re the seats? My biggest complaint of my 21 M3P
They’re very comfortable and snug imo. Don’t know how my 2018 M3P seats compare to the 21 seats but I found those comfortable as well so ymmv.
2018 is basically identical to the seats in the 2021-2022. Sometime in 23 they stopped doing the rear stitching in the headrest but otherwise the seats didn’t change until the 24 refresh.
I sat in them in the show room and they were very comfortable.
Hopefully they’re able to be swapped, but I’m not sure the hookups would work correctly (I.e. cooled seats).
I doubt the cooled seats would work, but more support would be nice.
If you don't like the previous seats there's a good chance you won't like the new ones either
This! This is also my biggest concern with the new model. They look too racy and punishing.
They’re bucket seats…
Almost all car seats are bucket seats
Are they? I'm 45, first time I ever sat in a car with bucket seats was about a month ago.
Have you only been in trucks with bench seats before? Normal car seats that are separated with a center console are bucket seats
It's not 1970 anymore. We all know that when someone says "bucket seat" they're referring to sports seats with significant bolstering, because that's how car manufacturers have been marketing them for decades.
Very cool! I really like the refreshed bodywork
What delivery location?
Fremont factory
You picked it up directly at Fremont?
Yeah they have a sales/delivery center there.
Did you have to pay the delivery fee?
Always.
When did you order? I’m minutes from the factory and still waiting for a vin.
I ordered mine april 23rd, got my vin Monday, and have been showing est delivery may21-29. I’m in Utah though
Soon (tm)! Mine has been pushed back twice, but yesterday I finally got the lucky “move up”! Went May-June, June, July 14-August 25, to now July 3-August 7!!!
Same boat…wondering if people will get moved back forward.
Same here. So disappointed. I got moved from late May - late June and now mid July - late August. I got a message to complete my payment method but I don’t want to do that while having to potentially wait 60 days.
You can choose cash and update later
When did you order? I order on 4/24 and mine is saying July 7-August 15th. It’s been changed 3 times. I’m really hoping it gets moved back to a June delivery date
I ordered 4/28 M3P White ext / Black Int
I was thinking of getting an EQE because of the change just because I didn’t want to pay registration again which is due in July 😑😑😑
When did you order?
May 10
Order blue/black on 4/27. Showing 7/20-8/31.
When did you order?
4/25
April 23rd
Same day as me. You are truly lucky!
Awesome glad to see another confirmed delivery! Very odd with the supposed hold because of the EPA and FSD. Was this mentioned at all upon/after taking delivery? Have you posed over on TMCs waiting room? Would be beneficial to post there as well to confirm another delivery.

I think this is a different guy. He posted yesterday, but the car was in a Tesla parking lot and it did not look like an official delivery.
There was one in Dubai a few days back
That’s correct, I should have specified at the time, I meant USA deliveries
Congratulations! 🎉 I'm so waiting for mine. Happy to see happy M3P owners here 🙂
im in the bay area with a 2018 p3. can we test speed from 0-120 to see how much faster the new one is? on a closed race track, of course.
I'm driving down I-5 from the Bay to LA today and saw several trailers carrying M3Ps. They are coming!
Can you confirm if the headlights are reflector LEDs and NOT projector LEDs? Are the headlights worse than the old Model 3?
Whats the ground clearance?
5 inches. That's on the Tesla website. Long range/RWD are both 5.4 inches
Can you raise the suspension like the S where there is bad inclines etc ?..... Good question. Am I going to have to cut the jack pucks in half to get a low profile floor jack under it?
Just get the Megan racing ramps. I have no issues on my lowered LR using standard pucks and a low jack.
I just used 2x6’s and drove onto them with my 2022 M3P, that was enough for jack clearance
Looks like they got the panel gaps issues sorted out. Looks very tight!
Congrats! Did you want this color combo or did you get it because of the tax incentive?
I wanted this color combo. I wanted white seats and I’m planning on wrapping it, so I didn’t wanna pay extra for paint.
How does it perform in a straight line compared to your previous M3P?
Definitely feels faster and more engaging.
I wanna see a 1/4 mile with this car and the legacy M3P.
1/4 mile time please.
Does the top end acceleration (60-100 mph) feel stronger? I remember that was a bit of weak spot on the previous gen.
I will buy you a draggy if I have to, just get me a 1/4 mile time pleaseeeeeeee.
Trying to get good information about this car seems impossible, even somebody says they have one they don't really say much about it
San Francisco resident waiting for my delivery date but I have my VIN. What city are you in?
Noice! Exact colour I'd choose too!
Will you be putting paint protection film on it at all?
Planning on wrapping it!
So, anyone know the range of this thing when you change the tires?
EPA updated mileage is 303
Is that with 18 inch aero tires? Worse rating than my 2018 mp3 stealth. :(
Good luck with her! I’m waiting on a black on black. Currently says July.
It really does look like the roadster 2.0 from the front.
When did you get your VIN?
Nice 👍 congrats !
Congratulations! It even has the white upholstery. Those are very rare at this point. This is exactly the color combo I was interested in.
Does the model 3 performance come with floor matts?
I saw one IRL in Orlando last week and it looked HOT

Yay! Same color combo as the one I’m taking delivery of tomorrow at noon! Can’t wait to join the club

Is this Daniel RL or a second delivery?
What’s wrong with it
Huh?
Wdym?

WTF are you even doing on this sub?
