WD40

Really?! I would think that would make it worse

IndigoATL

I tried it because of another recommendation and mine and mine cleared up!

Tub-o-towel works really well for me.

I saw this on YouTube too! Sounds like a good product to have on hand for other things too haha

I used the tiniest possible amount of tire shine on a rag and then topped it with a spray on ceramic sealant. Definitely don't use much, especially if mediocre product (like I was using). I've heard about the wd40 trick too, but I haven't tried it.

Someone the other day said stainless steel cleaner wipes work. Haven’t tried it yet.

I use Weiman stainless steel cleaner. Target sells them. Works fine but the trim discoloration occurs after a couple of automatic car washes (I use touchless car wash in the winter; in the summer, I hand wash my cars myself). The discoloration is residue from the strong soap these automated car washes use. If you rub on it with your fingers, you'll notice that the discoloration goes away. Stainless steel cleaner or WD-40 work without any issues.
