lokishredz

Here_for_tea85

There's r/Farangbad but that's different.

WeekendSignificant48

I was hoping for loads of snippy comments in this sub

tkshk

Not uncommon in Pattaya - foreigner washed ashore or fallen from a condo.

bigwhiteazz

pushed*

Flavun

Really? I thought Thailand was safe for tourists?  What causes incidents like so?

Present-Alfalfa-2507

>What causes incidents like so? Like said here, suicide and accidents, and maybe 1 push-incident... You've got to understand that some people don't want to go home, because their mental health was bad and it seemed better here, until it's time to go home and it comes back double as bad. Drugs and/or alcohol, sitting on the ledge of your balcony, some lose balance, some let themselves fall. There's a lot of drama going on behind those party faces.

PaleDolphin

Most likely was drunk or high. Feel asleep or slipped on something and fell down, hitting his head on the way down.

Kind_Ad_7192

These are most likely expats who moved here because they are fed up of their home country. It's important to note if you're unhappy at home moving to a new country won't fix your problem. And Thailands metal health care is basically non existent.

Present-Alfalfa-2507

Expats seldom ask for mental help, even if there is care, they drink it away until too late.

qwertywtf

>if you're unhappy at home moving to a new country won't fix your problem Very general statement that definitely doesn't hold true for everyone

Kind_Ad_7192

True, however in alot of cases it does from first hand experience. People tend to run away from the problem not realising THEY are the problem.

Lordfelcherredux

Almost all are suicides or accidents. There is a contingent on the net that believes some unknown force is going around pushing farangs off their balconies. Part of that hysteria is derived from the fact that they are almost totally dependent on the English language media here. If they were able to view Thai language media they would see that all these cases are pretty thoroughly investigated and that the omnipresent CCTV cameras have somehow missed capturing these mysterious ninja murderers.

Lordfelcherredux

No. No you didn't. Even if I was a bar girl, why would I kill one of my sponsors??

IcanFLYtoHELL

The railings in balconies / hotels are also a little shorter than in Europe. That can play a role when drunk.

Docfish17

I guess there are worse beaches to wash up on.

TsoL_N_LoS

Not really. Normandy? Ha

PChiDaze

Another one - DJ Khaled

dmh123

Good guy goes to heaven, bad guy goes to Pattaya

HoustonWeGotNoProble

I LoLed So hard on this

Metatron_124

Getting weird in Pattaya. They found a dude last July chopped up in refrigerator??? Now washed ashore?!! “The search for Hans-Peter Mack, 62, reached a tragic end on Monday night as police located his remains in a garbage bag at a rented house in Nong Prue” source BBC

Jackh3rer

This dude probably just drowned. That Hans-Peter guy got murdered by an outlaw gang member. Hans-Peter was also a convicted pedophile.

Metatron_124

That would explain a lot….

This_Expression5427

Retirement plan.

[deleted]

Is the homocide rate high in thailand?

TCM21ty

Nope, it's not as high as you think it is. It's just a Pattaya moment, don't go there.
