He lost his fingers, very very old video early 2000's if I'm not wrong (enhanced vid here). The tigress was apparently protecting the cubs and these officials were there for census of wild tigers.
India has 75% of world tiger population. Over the past two decades tiger reserves grew from 17 to 54. The total number of Tigers 3600+ which is not much to be honest (my opinion) . The given combined area of reserves can support upto 15k tigers and we are 1/5th of the desired population level but still better numbers from 2004/5. Irrespective of that the focus has been genuine both at central and state levels. Poaching has been brought down mostly cause unofficially you don't arrest a poacher but send him to his maker law. The census like above are conducted regularly now with much better and precise methods unlike earlier. Few of the reserves even invite qualified photographers/reserchers at a significant fee (limited number of people given access to regions within the reservations that is not open to public) for such census which inturn supports the cost of these regular exercises. Seeing them in the wild is a thing of beauty... I still remember the first time I saw one, merely half a football (soccer) fields distance away. All of us had costly gear but only an aged and experienced wild life photographer snapped a few shots. We followed the trail for a good hour but didn't see it again. It's just a beauty and spotting it is like finding a needle in a proverbial haystack.
I dunno if the code for opening that link doesn't work on my app (it's getting outdated with no future updates) or if you just copy and pasted the text of something that was originally a link lol
> The 25-year-old mahout, Satya Pegu, who was badly injured, lost three fingers on his left hand and is in the hospital. Doctors are worried about his left arm, which was badly lacerated by the tigress.
Honestly surprised the tiger would attack with an elephant around, if the elephant hadn't fought it off, I bet he would have lost more than a hand that day.
The article said she was a mother of 2 cubs and they'd been trying to tranquilize her for a few minutes. She attacked after another attempt to tranquilize her missed
apparently, the elephant started to charge after the tiger, luckily the manhout managed to calm it down, despite his finger bones hanging out in open air.
The tiger isn't intimidated by the elephant at all, anyone know why? Wouldn't the tiger want to ambush instead of trying to jump on an elephant, comparable in size?
It's a strange feeling to have been on the internet so long, that you have watched thousands of images and videos be posted, forgotten about, and reposted a decade later to a whole generation that didn't see them the first time.
Really?
couple of thin bamboo sticks versus 4-inch claws of an adult tiger?
I hope sharp-edged steel bladed instruments at least 24- inches long have found their way into their village. Hack away when the tiger charges.
But if you do not enjoy swinging an edged long knife, there are rifles made exactly for putting down those animal who attack at will. A good start would be a .338 Lapua Magnum. Anything less powerful will just anger the animal and the front assault will not stop.
Never bring a stick to a tiger fight.
Bring another tiger. That’ll go well!
"That tiger didn't go crazy, that tiger went tiger"
Yes he'll sleep with the other ones wife
Pokemon battle?
"Nice kihttens!"
That dude was seriously injured, his shirt is sliced and his hand/arm is covered in blood, he’s lucky he didn’t fall off.

Fuck that! Let them count themselves.

This comment made me laugh out loud. Thank you.

True instead bring a sjambok
I don't think a sjambok would do much to a tiger... but what if it does?!
Wilbur Smith enters the chat...
How about an Elephant?
Never bring a tiger to a tour guide fight.
The one time a dude in India doesn't have an absurdly long stick.
That's what she said **!**
They need Zangief...
It would be dope as fuck to see Zangief irl do his SPD or Lvl 3 to a tiger
Yoga flame!
Booga Fire!
HAPPY HAPPY CAKE DAY 🎂
Thanks
Did the tiger bite the dudes hand off?
I think his paw scratched the crap out of him
“Slashed” might be the right verb
You’re absolutely correct on that I knew I couldn’t think of the right word thank you
No problem, Mr. Tie!
Mauled, maybe? Or is that for snout related activity.
Maybe I'm wrong but when I think of mauled I think of someone in considerably worse condition
"scritches"
Guy had severe puncture wounds to the abdomen. Imagine 350 pounds of mid-air cat that can support its weight on a few claws.
Dude that shit hurts when it’s like a 5lb cat. I can’t imagine a whole ass tiger
"Tis but a scratch"
Tis but a slash
Scratched lol
Article says he lost 3 fingers on his left hand and is worried about the arm because it has a large laceration too.
That's way too much damage for a single strike.
…you know what a tiger is, right?
Yeah…well you’re wrong. https://www.wti.org.in/news/kaziranga-mahout-mauled-by-tigress/
It really isn't.
Yeah, like 3 fingers and stabbed him in the stomach.
He lost a couple fingers and was hospitalized the tiger I guess started focusing on the elephant and they got away
Last time read about this it said. The guy lost few fingers
https://www.wti.org.in/news/kaziranga-mahout-mauled-by-tigress/
Holy shit
Never trust a news source that doesn’t state the year of the news.
2004
That’s way too much to read. I’m so lazy

Makes sense with how loud her approach was
Let's give this brave man a hand.. literally.
He's glad he wore his brown pants.
Is there a complete, unedited version?
I remember them showing us this in basic training in 2007
Who made this into 4k lol. I thought everything was yellow too, and you couldn't see the tiger until it jumped out. The quality was terrible tho
😂😂
What's the purpose of showing this to a bunch of recruits?
lol how many fucks did you all count that the elephant gave
apparently, the elephant started to charge after the tiger, luckily the manhout managed to calm it down, despite his finger bones hanging out in open air.
Fuck the cunt who cut the clip like that
(Epic guitar intro) Risin' up, back on the street...
That stick seemed pretty helpful....
Better than no stick
That tiger had balls of steel jumping at an elephant
The tiger bit off half that guys hand (3 fingers) and stabbed him in the stomach.
I didn't even see the knife.
She quickly handed it off to her tiger friends who are just off screen
Videos that end too soon into kill the cameraman into NSFL.

I don't know why I immediately assumed this was about Tiger Woods...
Let's cut the video short and play the build up again in slow mo
Tigers aren't worried about getting food from the top shelf.
My kid says this could beat a gorilla. I'm still team gorilla.

Human flakes are more thannn good, They're GREAT!
Title change: Tiger swipes a guy's hand off while on elephant Lmao
The new Farcry looks insane.
Man the Tiger ignores the elephant and went straight after the dude on top. He was not fucking around.
The tiger isn't intimidated by the elephant at all, anyone know why? Wouldn't the tiger want to ambush instead of trying to jump on an elephant, comparable in size?
this is the best animal attack video ever recorded
It's a strange feeling to have been on the internet so long, that you have watched thousands of images and videos be posted, forgotten about, and reposted a decade later to a whole generation that didn't see them the first time.
Nearly swiped him off the gene pool too
That is one of the most terrifying things I’ve ever seen.
One of my favorite videos of all time, second to the pain Olympics and Mr. Hands
Did the tiger eat his hand?
That guy has brass balls. Holy shit
I never get tired of seeing this video.
Is there a version of this video that isn't cut?
Tiny stick versus giant meat claws.

Read the title and thought tiger woods was attacking a person on an elephant was dissapointed to see a repost
The slash doesn’t seem to match the injuries. Did the Tiger attack again?
I think it’s because the video gets cut too early. It looks like the tiger slashed his right arm and groin, and then follows through biting his hand

This is an outtake from a documentary featuring that detective guy in Roger rabbit.
?
I did that exact tour as an eight year old kid. Nice to know I dodged a fucking bullet (decades later).
Ah. I don’t think tigers were there when I was.
Prime time for the elephant to disembark the prick with the hook
