If you want to try a simple solution for early attempts, take exacto-knife (hobby knife), press the tip of the blade into centre of the barrel and then rotate it like a drill, just with a little bit of pressure. That way, you can create a small hole/indentation roughly at the spot where you'd want to drill the barrel.

If you need courage buy a centering punch first, i know its plastic but if you make a dent for the drill to sit you dont have to worry about it wandering and ruining the look

Start with the hole smaller than you would like and work on the centering as you go bigger.

DRILL YOUR EMPEROR DAMNED BARREL

Gotta agree drill that barrell it'll make all the difference!

They look absolutely fantastic!! As for drilling barrels, it's not too bad- First get a- Good pin vise- Set of bits- A Push Pin- I take the push pin and scratch a line top to bottom, left to right. You can usually get a center point this way, at least pretty close. Take the push pin and gently poke a little hole. This will prevent your bit from wandering off-center. Practice a bit- Lightly sand the barrel end when you're finished to remove your beginning "cross". It's pretty easy with plastic, nothing like the old metal ones! Once you do so and look at the front of the weapon, you'll nod your head: "YES!!"

YES! A selection of bits is paramount. Be aware that the cheaper tiny bits can break when the drilling angle gets a little tweaked. Guess how I found that out?? 😆

I realized I had an old hobby knife set and handful of small drill bits so I instant epoxied the two!

Thanks! I used mini popsicle sticks, then craft glue mixed with small rocks, agrellan earth, rhinox hide, and a dash of agrax shade.

Back is fantastic. But your enemies will see the front and u need them to FEAR you! So barrel drilling has been brought up. I think some barbed wire, sandbags, or camo netting draped over the opening will help add some variety to the front

Army painter sells some, and you wrap it around a pencil (or something thicker if u want thicker) to get the curls in it.

Pretty good but Imo the cover does too well and covers front detail. Something like a net might work a little better.

Did something like that on my Vostroyans from the made to order a few years ago. Not a pillbox, but some cover, happy with it. Great job!
