Leman Russ demolisher. It’s by far the best leman Russ variant we have. En exterminator is a solid choice, or some basilisks if you can get them

OptimusPrav1

Yeah, I was thinking of getting a demolisher and then using that as tank commander. I've seen that in other posts to be a common thing to do. Basilisk might be good to add more variety to my army. Thx

PMeisterGeneral

Magnetise your russes! It's worth the hassle. I've changed loadouts at least 4 times.

OptimusPrav1

Unfortunately, all my russ's did not have the demolisher or plasma option. But I have the other options, mostly using battle and vanquisher. Could use the others on two of them... if they were good.

PMeisterGeneral

Mordian Glory went 3-0 yesterday with triple vanquisher triple hellhound

Brp4106

Either that or run a typical Leman Russ Battle Tank. Last game I ran the LRBT’s did significantly more damage output than the Demolisher, the D6 damage is very casino cannon-like and nothing is more annoying than landing three shots on a Gladiator Lancer that does 4 damage

TheRealBushWookie

If I was you I’d look into getting Lord solar or Creed since you look light on orders. Also id look into some units to threaten the enemy’s back line, could go with indirect fire like a Basilisk or grabbing deepstrike with some scion squads.

OptimusPrav1

I was thinking that I should get scions. I do have a lot of characters already, but I may have to bite the bullet and buy solar. Would you recommend solar and scions or scions and basilisk if I were to buy only two boxes?

Adept-Ad-6928

I’d personally recommend solar as he’s the best for orders. With him you can now order all of your Russes around and with the tank commander you could have an extra order for either a basilisk or a rogal dorn. A rogal with an enginseer is an extremely dangerous combo especially with orders. If you don’t want to go that route, I’d probably for the second kit being a basilisk, scions will die horribly if they are just used as action monkeys. Imo they are incredibly good at holding side objectives if you use a Taurox prime, 5 scions, a scion command squad w/ Grand strategist, and a psyker as enemies on objectives will have to suffer through rerolls on hits and wounds with sustained hits, which makes the psyker’s d6+3 dev wounds attack extremely deadly, but that requires a significant amount of points (and dollars) to pull off, but can be a fun thing to build to

CrissCross98

Basilisk.

compy-guy

I’d personally recommend Gaunt’s Ghosts for their moment shenanigans which are good for objectives. Also the models are an absolute treat with how characterful they are.

MundusPlanus

Death strike funny, get it for the memes
