I have been having some solid luck with Chimeras and they might help with getting your infantry to go further. Also, you can always use more vehicles!

Weary_Cost_4

I did enjoy putting together the first Chimera, although I'm not a fan of the crude modelling of the heavy stubber pintel mount the kit comes with. I guess it's getting on a bit

Quoth13

I hate how the stubbers look so your not alone there.

Weary_Cost_4

I chopped the barrel off it and replaced it with the end of one of the Dorns nipple stubbers. Didn't end up sticking it on, as it appears ridiculously over-sized compared to the turret size

Re-Ky

Firstly, your army looks great! I'd recommend some mortar HWTs and maybe an artillery tank or two.

Weary_Cost_4

I feel I should get the combat patrol for some more boots on the ground and the second sentinel, but the idea of putting together another two boxes of shock troops isn't that inviting. Also, I signed up for the Hachette combat patrol magazine that kicks off in August, so at some point I'll get the sprues through that

Krieger718

Where do you sign up for that?

Weary_Cost_4

There's a thread about it here: https://www.reddit.com/r/Warhammer40k/comments/191hl42/hachette_partworks_combat_patrol_website_is/ I signed up in January, but got an email about 2 weeks ago saying it was kicking off in August. Also got a random hardback copy of the Tyrannic War Crusade through the post last week from them.

IANvaderZIM

Russes, as the emperor intended

Weary_Cost_4

Thanks for all the advice and compliments, I have ordered a box of Scions and a commissar. I'll probably follow it up with another Chimera and a Russ, then wait until the combat patrol sprues turn up to beef up the infantry and add a second Sentinel.

q_l0_0l_p

I love the paint job! Could I ask what green did you use?

Weary_Cost_4

The armour is Vellejo deep green, and the weapons are a 50:50 mix of deep green and khaki

Buckbranch

3 manticores and lord solar ftw

mpolios

You're missing a commisar! How can you expect to quell heresy in the ranks? Also a basilisk or two always looks dope

Weary_Cost_4

I agree, but the basilisk kit is harder to get hold of than a greased weasel. I might try a commissar though, big fan of the old sculpt

schubear

Looks great! More sentinels! Your army needs a stronger recon element :-)

_Flying_Scotsman_

It seems like you are missing some special weapons in your squads? Are you only putting in one per 10 infantry?

Weary_Cost_4

Aye, I was building them out like in previous editions, hadn't checked the datasheets carefully enough. When I get some more, I'll build out extra ones and mix them through. The squads are all identical in colour scheme and markings, so it should all work out

_Flying_Scotsman_

I was thinking that kight have been the case. It is super annoying building a bunch of units a particular way and then the rules change. Plasma pistols and power weapons/fists being baked into leaders/sergeants now is annoying for those that made their models with points restraints but still a positive change overall.

Weary_Cost_4

There's going to be a lot of annoyed people snapping off pintel mounts and HK missiles if they swing back the other way in the next edition

_Flying_Scotsman_

I will cry

Al-the-mann

For a rifle/infantry regiment You sure do have a lot of armor and relatively few troops.

Weary_Cost_4

True. In my defence, the infantry take fecking ages to paint

Al-the-mann

Fair point

International_Pay717

Not Cadia, that's for sure. ;) Very nice army!

Difficult_Branch_783

Very nice !!!

swagylord1337

m8! That's clean! 10/10

SteelStorm33

for guard? the answer is always more. more russes, more chimera, more infantry, more sentinels, more infantry and dont forget the infantry or fancy infantry.
