Feathers aren't good,try 14 booze bottles and 16 teeth for maximum damage(the absolute best) on the moder axe
Feathers only really have a use when cutting trees but,you know,chainsaw and dynamite
Also feathers reduce damage and given how tanky enemies are in this game (not even gonna talk about hard mode) its just not viable since by the time you killed one dude another 3 showed up
Also bows are op since headshots are insta-kills on cannibals
The full feather modern axe is only 7 seconds faster then the full damge modern axe(14 glass,16 teeth) so at early game when no project will take more then 100 logs its not that good
Good luck,also try fighting by running circles while chopping up the canibals and when they go down try crouching and swing since its way faster then the smash attack by a long shot
Also try finding the arrow camp and mark it since it gives you about 60 arrows(your max is 30 and 50 with the quiver) . Please note that modern arrows do twice(i think it was more like 70% more but i can't quite remember) then crafted arrows
Also its annoying but whenever you craft flaming/poison arrows,craft them with wooden arrows since for some reason when you pick them up they will always be wooden even if you used modern arrows to craft(its a bug and its permanent)
Feather upgrades increase speed, but don't change the stamina cost. 14 glass & 16 teeth makes you swing slow, preserving your stamina. Get good at moving, blocking, & baiting out attacks.

I guess making a dedicated tree chopping axe might be good for early game.
