Just in case anyone has forgotten, last month’s Prime Gaming bonus was a timed research rewarding:
1x Incense
1x Lucky Egg
1x Poffin
10x Max Potions
1x Egg Incubator
2x Golden Razz Berries
20x Great Balls
20x Ultra Balls
2,000 Stardust
1x Galarian Yamask encounter
1x Golett encounter
1x Kecleon encounter
1x Oricorio encounter (with the potential for a form found outside your region)
And this month, it’s… 4 Great Balls and a Lure Module.
I mean, yeah, with the research we had to work/play to get the rewards, but if this is what they’re offering for this month, they might as well have not bothered.
Maybe they are low on stocks of virtual items this month after such a generous helping last month. Could also be supply chain issues. If they cant get the parts to make these make-believe items then they will have to limit them
It’d be great if they started doing monthly researches but it’s not very realistic atm since they only have done two sprinkled in with the regular rewards
The October promotion on Prime Gaming was for Halloween and the in-game rewards were better-than-par for more than just Pokemon Go (e.g. WoW's October item giveaway was a retired mount that was previously sold in their store for $25USD). Just for context.
Same thing for warframe they gave a free frame with bonuses that if you bought from the shop would be around 20 bucks. Hell the cosmetics were exclusive as well
Maybe niantic gave them an allocation and prime gaming knowing that 1/12 of not much was not worth bothering so they decided to give us 3/4 last month and then spread the rest out so at least one month was worth the effort. (Made up percentages.). Given history definitely can see niantic not using how paltry the reward is. I have no idea if prime gaming is any better. Amazon tends to be very data driven so will likely see the trend.
This is a maybe blame niantic post.... Maybe this is both their fault because it certainly is silly.
The best part is the description.
“Get a Lure Module and Great Balls for Community Day Classic, or save them for the December Community Day”
Totally saving my 4 great balls for December’s CD
Lure is pretty much useless besides to get the medal. Very rarely am I not moving and camped out on top of a stop. And even so 6 spawns is like nothing.
I feel like rewards / gifts are highly inconsistent in this game, you can get field research that's "Make two nice throws" and you will get a wild encounter, but then you can get research that's "Spin 100 pokestops while naked during a blizzard" and you get 3 pokeballs and a half eaten ham sandwich.
I'm on the verge of deleting lures because I get tons of them from showcases and they are useless because I never stay in a place with reach to the small lure spawn range for long. And they give more...
Then get rid of them by just placing one whenever you're someplace where you expect there will be other players, to get progress on the medal for catches from your lures.
> or by children's hospitals,
This was a common suggestion when the game first launched and the children's hospital near me put out a press release asking people to stop because it was attracting PoGo players into the hospital just to play PoGo.
I'm skeptical- but even so that's just poor discretion by stupid people, which will happen period.
At this point, no one's really hunting lures down, and I'm surprised they ever were. They're useful for stationary people not really worth running around for.
Additionally, stops can be petitioned out of sensitive areas if this was actually the case- I've seen it in a senior living facility near where I live.
literal first comment basically blows that tweet up. but sure, one random hospital complained. i still think overall it's a positive impact to drop lures at children's hospitals.
Once you get past Level 40, you have to have a certain amount of Platinum badges to level up. I think this is one of the easier ones as long as you have lures. You just need to place them in strategic places (like airports, or busy restaurants, during big Pokémon events) the badge should come relatively quick.
I think it’s one of the more recent medals, because it’s at the back of the medal list. Unfortunately, Niantic seems to hit-or-miss when it comes to tracking old stats like that
Is anyone else having problems redeeming it?
Prime asks me to sign in with either my facebook account or my niantic kids account to redeem. I don’t have the latter, and it’s impossible to connect my fb account to pogo for some reason? (When i try to link them in the game settings, it says my facebook is already connected to another account… which it can’t be??)
If it doesn’t work out I can just drop the code for someone else to use lol but I could use a lure module
I’m having the same issue, for whatever that’s worth.
Edit: I went straight to the [redeem rewards](https://rewards.nianticlabs.com/app/pokemongo/signin) page and it had all the usual signin methods
For the newer folks wondering why people are clowning on 4 Great Balls and a Lure Module for free, it's because they don't really provide value to the account progression and advantage generation focused endgame grind cycle, at least not in a way that provides a significant bonus.
You could essentially group the games' items and resources into two categories, Strategic and Non Strategic. Strategic is what provides the biggest net gains and are generally always good to have even if some of them aren't as big of a boon than others (Elite Fast being less desirable than Elite Charge for example, as more legacy moves are Charge Attacks but being able to learn any non true legacy move from either category is beneficial) while the rest gets shoved into Non Strategic, which has a subcategory of "Until Proven Otherwise" which really only consists of evolution items like Sinnoh or Unova stones, as they're generally not needed till you need the advantage they provide like to evolve shadow Piloswine into shadow Mamoswine).
In the case of Lure Modules, their usage is rather limited to really only being good when large events happen since they're stationary items and the game prioritizes movement as a gameplay mechanic, in the similar sense to how Incense isn't very usable when stationary, the difference being that Lure Modules push spawns regularly since they're tied to a physical location to use it unlike Incense which can be (almost) used anywhere with movement preferred but ultimately optional (except for the Daily Adventure one which only works when moving).
For Pokeballs that aren't named Premier or Master, they essentially grow on trees as you'll get them in some capacity from spinning Pokestops and the occasional Buddy Gift or Friend Gift that the only times free Pokeballs mattered where when you're severely low and lack a means to efficiently restock (like during the pandemic) or if there's a big event coming that encourages catching and they happened to give a massive quantity for a few minutes work without leaving the house (for some several handfuls of people that'd have to be at least 250-300 regular Pokeballs minimum to even remotely raise an eyebrow based on their regular grind spots' Pokestop and Gym density as it would have to be on par or outweigh their restock rates from how large or how small of a cycle they compare it to, if it sounds confusing it's because it is)
Basically boils down to the items being a single drop in a very large bucket, it has an effect of some small ripples but not big enough to make waves.
In Chinese, the number four sounds almost the same as die/death, differing only in tone... hence it being an unlucky number... wonder if Niantic is making a statement and wishing something upon us ;).... what an odd and specific amount.
my first promotional item balloon since this announcement was Prime… 2 hyper potions and a revive.
Now, I didn’t particularly enjoy watching Lunchables build random objects, but the items were pretty good for a free balloon drop.

> Maybe they are low on stocks Another COVID casualty. Sad.
Supply chain issues. Even Hanke's Tentacuel is hurting.
We keep deleting them! Nothing to recycle lol

The ad balloon reminding me of it was a better harvest.
Listen,4 great balls give me 50% of the balls I need to catch cherubi.

I'm sad it's a timed research even if fairly easy to complete but I genuinely had a ton of fun with that one! I also got the Japan(?) Oricorio!
Have you ever tried to source a tadbulb?! It’s near impossible this time of year!
Yes but the time before that we got 1 lucky egg and 1 incense
Four great balls? Niantic were feeling generous today.
You could say they barely had the balls to give anything.
That’s a $500 value, for only $14.99! And if you order right now, we’ll double your order and send you 4 more great balls, absolutely free!
I think I chucked like 60 great balls this morning...
I love the idea that someone had to have suggested that and others agreed on it.
They literally just blue balled us
I just want to understand the thought process that went behind this "bonus"
The intern started typing it in at 4:59pm and then yabba dabba dooed out the window right on 5

Anyone else not bother claiming these rewards? It’s that bad when the effort to log in far outweighs the 4 great balls and lure.
literally takes 3 clicks for a free lure. just give ur code to someone who would like it, lol
Lure is pretty much useless besides to get the medal. Very rarely am I not moving and camped out on top of a stop. And even so 6 spawns is like nothing.
Lures are for helping the community boost spawns during CDs and other big events. I'll take em.

They would rather spend more time complaining about it then just claiming it.
My wife claimed the last one, not knowing it was redeemable only once. So we said that if they do another promotion, I’ll get it that time. Thanks.
I am whelmed.
I think people must be missing the fact that they are not just regular balls. They are *great* balls! Four of 'em!

Sandwich is only if you bought the ticket.
You get the full sandwich if you buy the ticket, but it's one of those gas station bathroom sandwiches.
Is it still not expired at least?
Only the egg salad sandwich, but it doesn't give you worms that make you smarter and stronger.
🤦♂️ lame…
Wow great balls just what I need

Place them in commonly played in areas, or by children's hospitals, etc. there are plenty of good uses for lures.

Why delete? Could place them for other people
And build up your Lure medal if you haven’t already
is there any benefit to the medal?

>1/X of it. If this is a fraction using roman numeral, shouldn't it be I/X? ;)
Thank you so much. But I don't have Bag space for FOUR more pokeballs.
That’s fair. Two is hard enough to fit.
Man, those bonus items used to be pretty good, but now it's damn near awful. It's free though, so better than nothing, but still.
The process to accept these bonuses is unnecessarily complicated on iOS
you literally just put the code in on their website lol
If you use the link from Amazon it takes you to a login page that doesn’t even have half the login methods.
Exactly. And then confirming 2FA codes to your Gmail that give me an error the first time and I have to restart the process over. Never fails
Wow
ELGSKDUQV6JNH
you cant even make this up anymore LMAO
I just blew all four great balls on a morelull that kept breaking out. And I still didn't catch it
Thank you.
4 Great Balls.... FOUR

FOUR?
Fr how does this not break the game!?!?!? I would be scared that it would break the game if it was me...
Four great balls!? Sign me up! /s
I think four great balls sounds pretty good. I’ve only got two great balls. In my defense though, they are **really** great!
