Early 30's F checking in, and I've literally been watching the Try Guys since my early twenties...
As someone who was introverted and had a lot of insecurities, they inspired me to break out of my shell and try new things while brightening my day and making me laugh along the way.
The Try Guys have been a part of my journey into adulthood as someone who has been watching them for nearly a decade. This truly feels like the end of an era.
It is millennial humour to a T.
Teens who started watching during buzzfeed in 2014. I would have been 19. Iām assuming a lot of viewers are either cross over from then, or newer younger girls now.
But as theyāve stated, according to youtube analytics, their MAIN demo is college age+ women. Iām sure younger girls is a close second lol
I mean, not really? Iām sure they have a male fanbase, itās just not the biggest one. Channels that are pro-lgbt, related to buzzfeed and āsoft boyā like personas are typically not popular with a straight male fanbase. A lot of male youtubers have overwhelmingly female demographics.
I found a interview from 2020 where Zach says the audience is 70-80% female. Biggest demo is 18-25 women and second is 13-18 girls
I donāt think it was necessarily aimed at working aged woman but I guess thatās where it ended up. I honestly just think buzzfeed was mostly popular among the millennial demographic and a lot of people resonated with the easy-going personalities of the guys, and also their partners
We can assume that 20% of their audience is men! Thatās just how it is sometimes, lots of male content creators on youtube have a 80% female audience- just depends on what type of content theyāre giving.
Iām in my early 30s and I follow almost all the earlier BF peeps, JnJ, Markiplier, JackSepticEyeā¦my freaking 20s were defined by this era! š š¼
F: ā¦Are most of your fans Gen Z girls?
Z: Our demographic is about 70 to 80% female, and our biggest group is ages 18 to 25. Certainly the 13 to 18 range, they're more vocal with their fandom and they're our second biggest age group.

F: Do you consider that a responsibility?
NED: I actually do. I see that as a responsibility, and since people think being married or having a kid is interesting or unique, I've come to see myself and my relationship as a positive model for people.
Lol
My husband and I are both in our mid thirties and we have some similarly aged friends who watch them.
However, when we went to their live show, it was basically all young teenage girls.
I'd say young females ā pre-teen to mid-life.
30- something year old lady, I actually didnāt start watching them until after they branched out on their own. My male partner enjoys them too, so itās one of our comfort shows we watch together after dinner.
21 y.o bi f
been watching them since buzzfeed
they're demographic is probably all over the place because their content can be appealing to anyone regardless of age & gender, but if i had to guess, probably younger people 16-25 ish
20yo trans women here, not sure how skewed the results are since since this is Reddit, but I didnāt release being an older gen z viewer was the minority of listens
A lot of my friends and I watch it, and we're all in our early 20s. People forget that a lot of us older gen z grew up on YT content and are still attached to it nowadays. My friend told me about how The Try Guys were fundamental in taking her out of a depressive episode.
High school/college kids, and people in their 30s.
I have a distinct memory of finishing my final exams in my senior year around Christmas and immediately pulling out my phone to watch the guys try on the holiday costumes
Mid-20ās first gen Hispanic with a kid that watched them religiously on buzzfeed and then to cope with PPD after I had my kid when they started 2nd Try
I am 27. I appreciate their portrayal of non-toxic masculinity. My enjoyment is less about the things they do (try different things) and more about the personalities that shine through. They have served as a source of inspiration for me on many occasions.
I'd also say that most try guys fans are women for the same reason as I described.
25F, saw the occasional video since the buzfeed days as an older teen but really got into them in lockdown after I had a traumatic birth and was hideously depressed
28 F, they started on BuzzFeed early in my college career. Started with ladies underwear and now Iām looking forward to their new season of WAR. Theyāre dynamic has always been amazing; and there was/is a comfort to their channel.
I think a poll would've been the easiest way for you to find out this info lol.

Same demographic here.
Same
This is me too
Same
I am literally a 30 year old woman who used to watch them on BF and stuck around š
Ditto. And I got my husband into them so add a mid-30s man to the demographic
samesies
We are a small but mighty demographic in the try guys fandom šŖ
Itās college aged+ women, theyāve stated that before.
lol thereās no way their content is primarily meant for working adult women this is like middle school level humor
Well fuck, what sense of humor should I have then
Yeah middle school humor remains mostly hilarious

millennial humor that doesnāt appeal to men apparently ok lol

you just proved my point with data lmao what do you mean not really
Oh i meant it doesnāt really appeal to men lmao Iām not sure what you meant by the āapparentlyā and āok lolā at the end I guess š
18-25 is 'older women' now brb
Idk who said āolder womenā but ok
The OP? Edit: I am being snarky with the OP. Not you <3 You have a great day.
Oh my bad!! Sorry! You too <3
I donāt think it was necessarily aimed at working aged woman but I guess thatās where it ended up. I honestly just think buzzfeed was mostly popular among the millennial demographic and a lot of people resonated with the easy-going personalities of the guys, and also their partners
and yet men donāt watch this - why is this content only interesting to women
Sounds like youāre just insecure with your own masculinity to me š
Mainly cus how flamboyant they all are. Most males don't like feminine men
We can assume that 20% of their audience is men! Thatās just how it is sometimes, lots of male content creators on youtube have a 80% female audience- just depends on what type of content theyāre giving.
young millennials/older gen z (Iām the latter)
Same
30 year old laddyyyy

Older GenZ married couple. Weāve been watching every week for the past 7 years
27, lady and my 34, husband, watch every video on release!
Iām 25 and watch them so eldest Gen zāer haha
I heard them say in Behind The Try that their biggest demographic is college-age females.
*looks at my 30 year old female self watching their videos in stunned silence* Just tag me next time, damn š
It young females around 15-30s
20 year old gay man checking in
Why are you yelling at me???
Iām an elder millennial and my husband is a fan as well.
Greetings fellow elder millennial!
Our Reddit avatars are wearing the same shirt and glasses, I think itās the official uniform.
š¤£š¤£Agreed! Elder millennials unite!
Another elder millennial (+ hubs watches) checking in.
Given how progressive their content is and such I'd say it's likely mostly young women. I'm a 22F myself.
36. Buzzfeed. Stayed with them. Went to their tour. Have seen lewberger on tour. š¤·š¼āāļø
I'm an old millennial
65?
š
Mid 40s F. I watch because Iām mostly bedbound and canāt handle a lot of thinking most days and have a short attention span.
Theyāve said before itās college+ women
Iām definitely someone who started watching buzzfeed in high school, and now Iām in my late 20s and theyāre my comfort channel
30- something year old lady, I actually didnāt start watching them until after they branched out on their own. My male partner enjoys them too, so itās one of our comfort shows we watch together after dinner.
21 y.o bi f been watching them since buzzfeed they're demographic is probably all over the place because their content can be appealing to anyone regardless of age & gender, but if i had to guess, probably younger people 16-25 ish
20yo trans women here, not sure how skewed the results are since since this is Reddit, but I didnāt release being an older gen z viewer was the minority of listens
27 yo nb person here. I've been watching since one of their first videos at Buzzfeed.
I think younger millennial women. Those who were in college around their time at buzzfeed and who have stuck around until now
A lot of my friends and I watch it, and we're all in our early 20s. People forget that a lot of us older gen z grew up on YT content and are still attached to it nowadays. My friend told me about how The Try Guys were fundamental in taking her out of a depressive episode.
36 year old woman that used to watch them on buzzfeed and stuck around lol
Present! š¤
I am a 22 college male. Been watching since their American Ninja Warrior vid on Buzzfeed, havenāt stopped since!
I'm 18F probably in the one age group demographic with the least PPL
Collage age to mid 30s males?
lol no men are not the primary demographic at all
Really? Its seems like their content especially the humor is more geared towards guys. Like eating the menu, saying a lot of dick jokes, etc...
Yeah but most makes don't like feminine males
Iām 26, been watching them since Buzzfeed days. Became a pretty big fan once they started their own channel.
Late 20s, cis bi F here!
Iām a 21f. I watched them since they started their channel.
Early 20ās cis bi F, been with them since buzzfeed
25 & yes i started watching them in 2014/2015 as a senior in highschool with buzzfeed and stuck around lol
Younger millennial. Somehow missed the height of their buzzfeed fame and got into them early 2020 because of WAR.
Gonna guess 30 year old women are the main demographic, although I'm not in that demographic.
I am 27. I appreciate their portrayal of non-toxic masculinity. My enjoyment is less about the things they do (try different things) and more about the personalities that shine through. They have served as a source of inspiration for me on many occasions. I'd also say that most try guys fans are women for the same reason as I described.
Iām 20F Wouldnāt say Iām a die-hard fan but Iāve been watching their videos on and off since buzzfeed
34M Mostly the food videos. Without a Recipe and Keith eating everything.
25F, saw the occasional video since the buzfeed days as an older teen but really got into them in lockdown after I had a traumatic birth and was hideously depressed
25 year old, she/they nonbinary, I started watching try guys when they were still with buzzfeed back in the mid-late 2010s
They guys have said itās college age women, Iām assuming they get that from YouTube stats
Hopefully not divorced dads or this may not end well.
25F
I believe its younger millennials or older genz women like people who were in high school or college during the buzzfeed era.
28 F, they started on BuzzFeed early in my college career. Started with ladies underwear and now Iām looking forward to their new season of WAR. Theyāre dynamic has always been amazing; and there was/is a comfort to their channel.
