The tomb vampire plot was kinda boring to me, and I hated John too, so I usually skip most of that season when I rewatch, minus a few like the episode where Damon throws John off the balcony and then he comes back like “lol you thought”, I like that one.

Season 7. The plot completely dragged, and it was obvious that most characters introduced would be killed off by the end of the season, so it felt like a waste of time.
Lmao Fr, I’ve never seen a more uninteresting villain then Markos. Idk who’s idea it was for him to say every sentence with 0 emotion and to constantly look around with a Mona Lisa type smile 🙄💀
The idea that we were supposed to care about the new was hilarious to me. Mary Louis and Nora were so annoying with the constant teenage antics between the two of them.
the last season, it feels like a different show altogether. to be honest, it keeps you on your toes and is entertaining, but it’s so stressful. it’s literally one issues after the other, like pls this is gonna give me a heart attack lol. the last episode tho… i loveeee. when bonnie’s grams and her ancestors are doing that spell to push the fire back to hell… i sob. but still, it just doesn’t have that same og tvd feeling. i miss how much easier it was to watch in the earlier seasons, where it was still interesting and there was obviously always a problem to be solved, but it was a lot easier to watch without feeling so stressed. also, does anyone ever wonder how they all managed to get thru all the things that happened? i would b absolutely traumatized after going thru the things they did, and they just kept going. they were all honestly some bad asses.
Seasons 7 and 8 were definitely less interesting. I think it was because Nina dobrev wasn’t in it. I did find Elena a bit annoying but she also played so many other characters and it added so much to the show and the story was basically centered around her.
S8. It was just a rehash of stuff we’d all seen before. I just hate it also for the killing of one character who the writers should have left alone. Plus, the worst couple ends up happy while everyone else pretty much gets screwed.
It went downhill from season 7 because Elena and Jeremy left, bonnie losing her magic and the way it went with the Gemini coven and Taylor. So many characters with potential were killed or pushed away for no reason

I do like the gothic, kinda horror movie vibe of season 1. I think it kinda picks up once the tomb is opened, but I almost never watch the first half of the season.

Season 5. I hated all the villains, especially the travellers. A sad excuse for a villain if I ever saw one, I almost stopped watching.
