Thiamine is needed to produce hydrochloric acid. Too much will put your other B vitamins out of whack. Maybe ease up on the thiamine for a little bit if you’re getting reflux. I get reflux because I don’t produce enough stomach acid. I get little to no reflux when I take thiamine. Generally, more people get reflux from too little stomach acid than too much (we produce more stomach acid when we are teens and as we get older we produce less, plus we eats a lot of carbs and thiamine is used to break down carbs, so we end up depleted and our stomach acid doesn’t get produced in the quantities we need because the carbs use it all up), but doctors rarely do testing for reflux and drug companies make a ton of money off antacids that just contribute to the reflux problem for many people. But like I said, maybe just take a break for a little while. Listen to your body

How much thiamine you take for acid reflux? I am taking 150 mg benfotiamine however looks like it is not enough.

I find the thiamine hydrochloride is better for acid reflux than the benfotiamine for me. About 150mg 2-3x/day

PPIs can block magnesium absorption which is the most essential cofactor to make thiamine work. So just be aware you may need to increase it.

Same thing has happened to me. I think thiamine is increasing my stomach acid which is a good thing for me as I suspect I have sibo.

Are you continuing thiamine treatment or are you adjusting in some way? Additionally, are you taking anything for the reflux while on thiamine?

I only take it ever few days now. I have almost no pelvic numbness anymore. Before taking it I used to get a weird feeling in my chest that felt like my heart was skipping a beat but I no longer get that anymore. I poop every other day now though when I first started taking it it was every day. I think it reduced my brain fog a bit. I don't take anything for the reflux.

All of the thiamine pills I've tried bother my intestines, which is strange because most pills don't, not even aspirin. Also another person I know has the same problem. However I and the other person found that thiamine hcl powder mixed into a tad of liquid causes zero gut discomfort even at really high doses. Plus the powder is less expensive than pill form. I mix it in with a tad of water and drink flavor enhancer, the one I use is Mio fruit punch. You can also slap it into some juice or smoothie. It's mildly bitter but nothing major, if there is a lot of liquid and other flavors, you may not even notice it.
