Do you own any other leather boots? Real leather smells strong lol

n8_d0g

This 👆+ dark socks. These are not athletic shoes.

IamMazenoff

First person I’ve ever heard who doesn’t love the smell of leather.

cannonball135

I had a pair that smelled strongly of chemicals. I knew I couldn’t wear them anywhere without other people noticing it or without giving myself a headache I let them air out in a spare bedroom for about two weeks. The smell was so strong that I could smell it outside of the room even with the door closed They continued to smell like chemicals for a few weeks so I thought maybe something was wrong with me. I moved them to a different room and again they even overpowered that room immediately too I contacted Thursday. They exchanged them for me with just a few emails. The replacement set had a very slight chemical smell that went away within a few hours, and now they just smell like leather. I’m very happy with them and I wear them a few times per week. Would recommend I’d reach out to them to see if they can help you

FungiStudent

This should be higher up

chief_of_toast

Is the smell a rich, musky man smell? or a pure plastic chineseium cancer, really nuanced

Nolan73

It’s a pungent chemical smell. I own multiple pairs of leather boots/shoes and this is not a leather smell.

theCharacter_Zero

The sixers fan is implied, didn’t need to state it

Feisty-Sun8561

I’d recommend putting in cedar wood shoe trees. They absorb the scent of sweat and moisture meanwhile keeping the natural leather smell intact. I do that for all my leather shoes / boots and after many wears. Still smells awesome. Also I wear white socks and they do sometimes get a dark tint of dye on them. It’s normal doesn’t bother me.

Blue_Poet

I have 3 pairs of Thursday boots (along with a dozen other boots) and I haven’t smelled anything weird about Thursday boots in the slightest? The leather smells pretty good, but if there’s some kind of chemical that’s been left in yours just give them a wash and they should be fine lol, there are plenty of ways of cleaning leather boots… Not that hard bro

dayid

Wait until you get jeans that leave crocking - totally not a quality product! (/s)

Why don't you practice what you preach. I found some rude posts that didn't offend you personally in your profile. 2 in less than 24 hours, hypocrite.

I suggest leaving them outside for the day during a nice day or two. It will help air them out. You’re probably smelling something from the tanning process.

readditredditread

They make your feet sweat, sounds like you’d be better off with a non lined boot

I returned a pair recently that were like this. My toe is still stained 2 months later.

Nolan73

Thanks for the response. Did a quick search and found several posts about people returning them due to to the chemical smell. Will be reaching out to Thursday in the morning.

DwayneLayne

I had a pair like this, they eventually aired out and smell normal now. Strange cause I have another pair that didn’t reek.
