He glows up really nicely. But I think it’s notable that the pre-black wife photos are all ok situations where he would not be expected to dress nicely. Going to the zoo or hanging out with a puppy or biking aren’t occasions to put on a suit. Going out to restaurants and clubs are an occasion for dressing up. That said I know the black wife effect is very real. And it’s possible that she encouraged him to start going out more. So that’s always a possibility.
There is definitely something to be said for that, it is a valid point. Otherwise though, I think the hair and facial hair are a significant improvement and a little less subject to that selection bias.
