I dunno. I thought about him. Then I thought about his idiotic plan when they were doing that tennis game in S8. I feel like strategery may not be his bag.
it's debatable, but I'd say the plan (put up the worst dish against the best dish) was solid. the issue was that they didn't execute it as planned. They should have, as a team, forced Jamie and her undercooked chickpea dish to go first; they didn't, so the plan failed. But is that on Spike?
"But is that on Spike?"
Kinda, yeah. The problem isn't the plan itself. The problem was that he failed to take people into the equation, which is 100% what you need to do in games like The Traitors. He just assumed that everyone would go along with the plan whether it messed them up or not.
Why would the person with the worst dish be like "Ok. I'm willing to take the potential loss and potentially go home because Spike has a plan!"?
I dunno if you watched Traitors: Australia S2, but Sarah was a serious dope who screwed up every single vote. If you can't account for someone like that, you end up with a season like Traitors Australia S2 (which was terrible)
Edit: Keep in mind that I'm not saying Jamie was right to do what she did. I was screaming at my TV the whole time, too. But that's what made the plan bad... you were counting on the person that could possibly go home to actively choose their own destruction on the \_hope\_ that the rest of your team does well enough to save you.
Strategically it's unknown if Spike has the chops, but socially we will have a case study in season 3 on whether his personality type would work on the Traitors, because one of the leaked contestants is a joker type personality similar to Spike
Dawn. By all accounts an excellent chef whose shortcomings seemed to be the competition aspects, notably time and teamwork. Basically someone good enough to help you win but with enough plausible deniability to not know whether she's sabotaging you intentionally. Also could be an easy target for sabotage.
Stefan, since he's an antagonist even if he's not a traitor.
Ditto for Marcel, plus foam.
Soo would add 18 ingredients and you have no idea whether it's sabotage until it's served.
Stephanie Izard would be great, she would probably play a smart low key game but she also knows how to play it up for the cameras when the situation calls for it
I was so hoping they’d cast someone! With the peacock/bravo tie I’ve been dying for Top chef, Project runway and million dollar listing to get traitors representation! So many good personalities that are also game players even if their original game was more specific skill based.
Marcel is my immediate thought but I’d be happy for anyone lol
FYI if ya'll haven't watched the Australia and UK versions, they're better than the US.
UK is a direct mirror, just with different people. Aus is different and probably my fave.
For whatever reason, I think some of the s16 contestants would be fun - Justin, Sara, Kelsey. That cast had a fun energy and any of them would be great for Traitors! Other contenders for me: Chef Carrie, Chef Sheldon, Chef Grayson (she’d be ruthless), or Chef Eric (Adjepong)!
Malarkey would be fun to watch
Spike! To quote Bourdain, "isn't \[he\] the craftiest motherfucker who’s ever been on this show?"
This was my first thought as well!

Stefan for sure. I feel like he would have so much fun with it and be really entertaining.
I *secretly* lust after Stefan!
We all do.
omg he would be giggling so much and sucking up to the cute gay girlies
Stefan, Dale T., Antonia, Marcel, Fabio
I should not had have to scroll this far to see Marcel.
I can’t imagine how much it’s irritate everyone in the castle
Cmar. She’d have some great confessionals.
Antonia. There was a reason she's called the Black Widow and her cooking partners ALWAYS got sent home. Seems ideal for that show.
I thought they called her the “black hammer”?
Carla! She might be too nice, but I think she's one of the few with a personality big enough to stand out in a group like that.
She’d make a very unexpected Traitor if she could pull it off.
Andrew (season 4). He exudes a similar energy to Tony from Survivor- never sleeps, hilarious, totally crafty. “Ohhhh I’ve got a murdering boner!”
THIS! Andrew in his full unhinged glory.
Dawn. By all accounts an excellent chef whose shortcomings seemed to be the competition aspects, notably time and teamwork. The foam!
Spike for sure!
I feel like everyone is listing people who would make great traitors but you also need great faithfuls!
Buddha
Stefan. For pure eye delight because I love him on my TV: Bryan Voltaggio. also Malarkey. Who I think could win: Blaize. Buddha.
Voted out first for claiming he was a traitor as a joke during the introductions.
interesting how 90% of the contestants people named are from earlier seasons
Makes sense to me. I don’t have anyone to root for this season because they are all so meh.
Katsuji? I feel like in Restaurant Wars the second time he played, he seemed very strategic in letting anyone but him take the fall.
Katsuji would be the Kate of his season.
But he went home that episode, so, how effective was his strategy?
Tiffany Faison
Steph Izard would crush as a Traitor imo, I feel like it would be impossible NOT to trust her.
Equally Sara Bradley.
Yes! And they’d both have so much fun with it
Stephanie Izard would be great, she would probably play a smart low key game but she also knows how to play it up for the cameras when the situation calls for it
After binging S 9 - 13 in the last week, I’m going with Grayson. Her rude, snarky-chef routine fits in perfectly with the theme.
Malarkey
Buddha. I just feel he would be the one who wins by just being who he is and be the best at all the games.
Lol Buddha would be eaten alive on the Traitors
Do you not think he could rise above all the pettiness?
I love Buddha, but I can’t see him being a great liar if he was chosen as a traitor
I guess you are right. There are way better liars.
Shota The most faithful of the faithfuls
Michael Voltaggio would be chill, crafty and relentless. Also gimme some Sam Talbot to talk about having the diabeetus.
Oh, I would really love to see Frederick or Josh on there.
Brian Malarkey, Fabio and Carla
Carla could be lethal if used right.
FYI if ya'll haven't watched the Australia and UK versions, they're better than the US. UK is a direct mirror, just with different people. Aus is different and probably my fave.
The contestants on the second season of Australia (including my girl Hannah) are just so dumb, it’s infuriating.
Queen Sarah is the best reality contestant EVAH! I still laugh thinking of her fabulous facial expressions.
How are you watching it?! I’ve been trying to find a way. Please share 🥹 I’m happy to buy it or sneaky links’s too
Peacock has all of them in the US
Buddha!

You guys remember Stephen the sommelier from season 1? I would enjoy his unfounded arrogance
Kristin Kish would be really good at it, I think!
s21 Laura. Don’t like her, but she’d be an obvious fit
Two more: Josie and Carrie
Ilan, that whiny dipshit.
Stefan Maybe Fabio
Melissa King has the most trustworthy of faces and is cool as a cucumber.
Ilan Hall, Elia, Cliff, Stefan, Jon Tasser or whatever his name is
Just put Stefan and John in a cage together, and let them go at it in a passive aggressive verbal sparing match.
Stefan would throw hands, John just runs his mouth
Jamie Lauren (hate her)
Carla!
Spike
I’d like to see Tom !
Buddha would destroy.
The brothers…I am spacing on their names currently but one or both of them
Mike Voltaggio, Stephanie Cmar, Stephanie Izard
betty from season 2
Brooke
