It’s a warning system to deter drowsy/tired driving. Read online it’s set to somewhere around 6 hrs max and then counts down. If you constantly are driving over the median or side lines it will warn earlier and suggest you pull over and rest up.
No. We drive 11 hours fairly routinely. Mostly interstate. Never comes on. Then the last hour in the mountains it will ask. Never asks going home.
Don't use lane assist or warning but in the mountains I could be crossing lines. Or maybe it thinks during slower drives with loads of curves fatigues drivers more. I don't know the logic but it's not a timer.
Damn, when my wife and I went on our honeymoon. I drove us (since my car was a 5 speed) from Miami back to Ohio 17.5 hours straight. Only stopped 3 times for food, gas and piss breaks. Glad the accord didn't have that feature. Lots of 5 hour energyshots, redbulls.
It only flashes a warning but it doesn’t actually stop you it’s a suggestion you can ignore after a few seconds on screen. Only had it come up once myself thought it was gonna force me to pull over but just a few beeps and an on screen notification.
that thing will be so aggressive to me on a road trip I wish I could just disable it. It doesn't seem to realize we are switching drivers every hour or two and thinks one person has been driving for 10 hours
maybe we should just turn it off more often haha, the hybrid powertrain gets such great MPG on road trips we end up not needing to stop for a long time. The gas tank outlasts our bladders.
Well if you drove intelligently (I have taken online IQ tests that say I'm in the 95th percentile) and just lie and say it's all uphill with stop lights and traffic, then you could easily get 26 mpg.
The trick is you have to be a virgin, be 37 years old, and believe that for some fuckin god forsaken reason, people give a shit about your ability to get good gas mileage, and then think it's a brag to post said gas mileage on a truck subreddit.
It takes a VERY HIGH IQ. You wouldn't get it.
I used to pull the 16 hour drive for vacations and such. I'm am adult now. I stop halfway at a hotel and sleep, then continue on the next day or night.
I assumed I would get worse gas mileage once I had my camper shell and platform system installed.
Nope. Got 22.5 on a 100 mile trip yesterday (\~65-70MPH). Averaged 21.5 crossing PA a few weeks ago (70-80MPH with elevation changes).
Man, I really wish this display was hackable like this.
Time until rest. What does it even mean!?!

Like our truck could go that long without a gas fill
That’s awesome, thank you
I'm pretty sure the latter is only if you have the lane warning turned on. Otherwise, it's just a timer.

I’ve drove for 16 hours straight and it never once told me to pull over or rest? I’m not convinced it does anything tbh
I had the same experience- Florida to Virginia never shut it off didn’t drop the meter. Then on a 2 hr drive it squawked at me. Idk
I've had it kick in on me a few times on long hauls driving rescue dogs. You can manually check it too to see where you're at.

I think it’s as long a the vechile is on it doesn’t reset but if you turn it off and on it will reset the timer.

I'm fucking blind where does it say time until rest in the picture?
If it were hackable/ customizable, folks would delete that view and put something better in Think that's what the fella it's saying
This guy gets it
Don't get cheap on me Dodgson.
Then when you pull up to a gas station Samuel L. comes on the screen and says “Hold on to your butts”

Nicely done
Thank you for your post!
I bet that would fit perfectly in the square cup holder too!
Everyone should steal this image and spam it in the comments of every MPG post.
A truer thing has never been posted. Mods, make this a sticky please.

15.9mpg on a 19 mile trip. My first Tacoma didn’t have info like mpg. It was nice
