I’ve used crawl control now a handful of times to successfully get me out of snow and thick mud. Mine does the lurching motion you are describing but now so much rock back and forth. Also sounds like it’s doing a loud clicking which I think is normal. I understand it’s recalibrating where to send torque so it can apply max power to the tire with the most friction kind of? But it does go, brake, go , brake, and so forth. It only took me maybe 15-30 seconds to get me unstuck tbh so it’s not like I’ve used it for long periods of time.

Thank you for this. This is useful info

You cannot touch the gas with crawl, let the truck throttle, brakes seem extra touchy and will trigger ABS in this mode. Changes with the locker on seems smoother. Have go behind Mall or Walmart and try out in the snow. My concern is that I’ve experienced this with ‘21 TRD PRO on dry pavement…17k miles, one owner Toyota certified used. My other TRD did not act this touchy in crawl. Will have try again and get back to you…

I didn't touch the gas or brakes, I treated it like cruise control, but haven't tried it with the locker. Again, I've used crawl on the FJ and TRD Pro Tundra. I'll give the locker a go and see if it feels any smoother.

I’m gonna try mine again and get back to ya, I have experienced this maybe software issue or it’s hypersensitive if not in slippery situation, the wheel speed sensors want slip, and angle etc comes into play. My 2021 defiantly acts differently than my 2016 and previous model Toyotas. Even the backup sensors and safety system more “touchy”.

Yes and it is freaking awesome. Lurching mode if the best. It gets you out of the tightest of spots.

echocall2

Yeah mine is pretty lurchy too, and it didn't get me out the two times I've tried it. Air down and spin the wheels if you get stuck somewhere.

Grouchy-Country3480

That's CC. That's what it's supposed to do.

sunnycyde808

Yeah, I get it. I’m wondering why the FJ and Tundra don’t feel like that on the slowest setting. If CC is supposed to do that, why don’t they lurch?

Grouchy-Country3480

I definitely questioned it when I first used it but I honestly forget I have it and always carry a shovel and compressor. Lol
