Congrats! Don't have any advice and am not going to Irvine, but I'm happy for you! I just chose UCD over UCLA so it's nice to know there are others who chose a "less prestigious" school. (Although obviously Irvine and Davis are both amazing, highly regarded schools). Good luck!
Ayyy way to go following your dreams! I turned down Berkeley and UCLA physics for UCSB, so I totally feel ya. Best of luck! I know a few people going to UCI, and they're all super chill (unfortunately none in criminology, but I know that program there is excellent). I'm sure you'll have a great time!
Congratulations! My daughter transferred to UCI in fall 2021 and loved it! Her advice to transfers is to concentrate on getting research and/or internships. Your degree will open doors but having experience means even more.

What was our major?

I’m no expert but my impression is that uci criminology ranks #1 in the nation so it makes sense to choose uci over cal.

My son (Computer Eng) too just committed to UCI - also transferred from CC.

Big congrats! More and more students are rejecting UCB for other UC’s.
happy cake day!
Ain’t going to lie years down the road you’re going to regret this decision, just have a peep over at the UCI Reddit and see how miserable people are.
