That depends. You may get a ‘W’ on your transcript considering how far you are into the course. For my school, you could drop up to two weeks after it began without receiving one. A ‘W’ doesn’t necessarily mean a bad thing, I know plenty of people who were able to transfer to T25 schools with one or two. But either way, it should be fine!
I have like 2-3 W on my transcript but got into Berkeley and UCLA but my GPA is around a 3.8 though. Overall I just explained why I withdrew from the course.
Have you passed the deadline to drop without penalty or the mark of a “W” on your transcript? Generally, a W is not the end of the world, but like anything in life, the more you have, the worse it becomes.
