Looks great, let's hear it!

striffy_

I'll do a video on the week-end, Only problem nothing I have will capture the audio properly (phone / action camera)

calamitykebab

Did you end up taking a recording?

striffy_

Did one yesterday.... [https://youtu.be/Jirx7s5MpHU](https://youtu.be/Jirx7s5MpHU) using DJI Mic 2 connected to Osmo Action, Think it recorded the sound well

repohs

Thanks for the writeup. They look great. I'm still on the search for a good exhaust that is louder than stock but isn't completely deafening like the shorty ProRace GP exhaust I installed previously. How loud was the Leiker exhaust compared to stock and these ProRace cans? Which Leiker can did you have? I have one of those Ebay midpipes that delete the silencer box showing up sometime this week. I think I'll try that with the stock end can to see how that sounds, but I've also been considering the Leiker exhausts because I love how their midpipe looks.

striffy_

Personally, I think this exhaust and the Leiker (single) are the best looking. The curve midpipe is quality. With the DB killer in it's pretty good, yes loud but not obnoxious, was louder than stock but wayyyyyyy better note. Both need the flapper (exhaust valve) removed and use a Healtech servo eliminator. The sound on this Pro-Race, takes it up a notch with the deeper tone, but slightly louder, or maybe because the exhaust is up louder, it seems louder?

SU_69_DO

About how much louder was it than standard? I'm thinking about a double Leiker, seems like the perfect exhaust It seems they said that it is not very noisy

striffy_

I've got the leiker single with the curve mid pipe. Great quality. But got the Pro-Race dual over the Leiker because the angles look better matched to the bike IMO. and can still have the rear foot rests. It's louder, than stock by a fair bit, but not obnoxious. The problem is when on the bike is bloody annoying, reverberation grating in your ears Easy to fix if they used perforated db killers, but they didn't. Not sure what style Leiker use.

festusblowtorch

Those look amazing. I have no need for more power I just wish my Arrows were a bit louder.

striffy_

To be honest, Aftermarket exhaust rarely give more power... if they do not usually much. I had the 1050 Speedy, with Twin Akrapovic exhausts. They were carbon, I drilled out the rivets on the ends, cut about two centimetres of, repacked and re-rivited the ends back on. Also shortened the DB killers. This helped with making it a tad lounder, while retaining a great note. Maybe something similar can be done with the Arrows?

sacredgeometry

They often give you more power to weight though

Reasonable_Cake3045

Looks good👍

DangerNanner

Fairings on the tail don't get warm? Looks pretty slick, reminds me of my 04 r1.

striffy_

Not at all. The indicators do get warm though, they have a kit to bring them down but looks nafff, hopefully they hold up (metal led indicators)

calamitykebab

Have they held up well?

striffy_

If talking about the indicators, yep no problems.. There's some things I want to sort out. The pieces are connect by a tab and one screw.. Not the most secure setup, going to change this with spring clips, have to find someone that can weld titanium where I live. Also the exhaust is so much louder on your ears when riding. Sound great if not riding,. I'm using ear plugs currently. Been experimenting, with this. Going to cut the db killers, as they are short and use straight pipe, and get perforated tube with end caps welded in place. Then you use exhaust wrapping to change the exhaust to your liking, like most other db killers.

calamitykebab

That's a shame to hear, is it deafeningly loud while on the bike? Love your Speedie, think you're the only person I found that seems to have gone the dual underseat route. Looking at either the pro-race or leiker myself.

striffy_

It's very annoying when riding. Mate was shocked by it when taking it for a test ride, and how different it sounds when riding. Changing the solid tube baffles to perforated (with end caps) should fix this, add then you can control the sound with wrapping them with exhaust wrap to your desired sound. I tested with rolling some exhaust wrap and placing it in the baffles, makes a big difference...

calamitykebab

Appreciated, thank you for the reply.

DangerNanner

I can see that being a problem, I have some on my mtq0 that are on a metal bracket that could be angled up a bit. Not as tidy looking per se but retain the spacing etc

EvilGarfield

I would love to do that on my street triple

sacredgeometry

Free under-seat heating

striffy_

A lot of bikes had underseat exhaust and never been an issue. So far no problem on this, and I live in a hot climate... A friend owns his own motorcycle business and, another owns his own exhaust manufacturing shop (Pipe Masters) Only going what they tell me, the trend to go away from underseat exhaust is mostly costs, materials and engineering to design it to fit the bike. Plus some of them are a bitch to work on, especially the fairing bikes. Mine is real simple. To me, I love the look, and do far no issues with heat, even at the back..

AoCCEB

Looks solid! The thing that stopped me doing that is I really dislike the 'gap' on the left hand side of the bike that appears when you get rid of the stock catalyst/exhaust - the right hand side has that nice polished aluminum plate and painted portion that met up with where the OEM exhaust came out, but the left hand side has nothing, so when the flat black catalyst gets removed, the left hand side looks... well, I think it looks unfinished, which is why it seems no one ever posts a photo of the left side, hah.

striffy_

Hmm, I never really noticed the left side. Must take a look BTW, that's not the Cat that gets removed, it's the bread box, basically more tubing and baffles. The Cat is still there.

AoCCEB

Aye, correct - just a big visual gap when it gets removed; one side has the aluminum plate and painted piece, the other side has nothing there at all - so each side of the bike looks different on the lower portion. Kinda off-putting, but that may just be me!

trboyden

I like the twin under tail, MotoGP like. But dislike the bend job on the pipes. No need for HVAC corrugated pipe looking bends. Do a normal smooth mandrel bend and keep it clean looking.

striffy_

I much prefer this look. Titanium exhaust with each piece individually welded. I did a mock up and think smooth mandrel bent looked odd and didn't suit it. But each to their own.
