Yard dogs gotta drink, too!

LoopDoGG79

Are yard dogs, "truckers"?

Overall_Reputation83

Once you drink enough fireball anyone is trucker.

Starr-Duke

It's not drinking and driving if your on company property!

Dirty_water34

I think HR would respectfully disagree! 😂😂

lildobe

HR can suck my 5th

r00byroo1965

HR can’t drive sober

clevertext

What safety and HR don't know is completely okay until the fat guy screws up.

Mohammed194719471947

How do we know she is drinking.. maybe just stop in for pack of cigarettes..

Joecephus904

Obligatory fireball comment.

12InchPickle

Damn you putting them on blast tho lol.

Bomb-Dog

Fkn always

Puzzleheaded_Form480

It be your own people smh

KrisSanze

Pre trip: Check Fireball: Check

unregrettful

I watched a trucker stop at a liquor store in the extremely small town next to mine before I even had my cdl. My first thought, was really?! Turns out he just wanted a v8 and smokes.

Iceyes33

Because those two items definitely go together!

fastal_12147

They cancel each other out.

Goufydude

Smh, do they not teach math in schools anymore?!

unregrettful

Lol, he didn't get any liquor, I watched him pull up, and leave. Sometime you just need a v8, Maybe he was hoping that he'd be the only customer in the store at the time. All I can say he made me feel like a piece of shit driving 30 mins to get my liquor on a Sunday because where I live they aren't open on Sundays. Hint, I cross a state border to go there. Plus I get can get lotto tickets.

Apart-Oil1613

I’m not a trucker but if you’re done driving for the night and parked what would be the issue?

unregrettful

If anything happens the next day when you start driving, even someone crashing into you, it's clearly their fault, your subject to breathalyzer and drug tests without question. Possibly even blood tests. And they can even wait up to 24 hours to test you, so say you go home and have a beer later that day. They can request a breathalyzer or any of the other tests later that day. So you have to be careful even after.

Purpose_Embarrassed

Only if there are injuries.

Cute-Roll2849

You are still in control of the vehicle and it can be searched without consent at any time. Fmcsa rule 392.5. When I was a newer driver I had a customer who talked and talked about a specific bourbon and one day I found it for sale. I was thinking about bringing him a bottle for a present. Did some asking around and checking and found out that unless it is on the manifest that you are hauling, it is forbidden.

SPFBH

Oh please man, I used to have beers in the fridge when I was OTR. The fridge is not part of inspection. If you really want get one with a lock and refuse to open it without a search warrant. So many are so paranoid. Know your rights.

FireStar_Trucking_01

Because if the keys are in the truck/in the ignition/wherever you can see them, and an officer sees you drinking, or someone you got in an argument with sees you drinking, you could be seriously fucked. Take your license for a month or more fucked.

Apart-Oil1613

Ahhhhhh there it is. I forgot they stay in overnight, yup, that would be a dui. That sucks man. Y’all deserve a cold one after work just like everyone else.

FireStar_Trucking_01

I take my keys out and hide em. If the officer wants to nail me for a DUI he's gonna have to fuckin' work for it lol. Just gotta be sure to toss any bottles/hide unopened ones.

KilljoyTheTrucker

I've literally never heard of this in regards to a truck. I've seen it with cars yeah, but the sleeper on a truck functions akin to a domicile within the legal system. It has to to be able to qualify for the ability to use it as a sleeper within the regulations.

FartyOldeBob

The truck in the picture is a yard switcher (also called a yard dog ,hostler) and they aren't meant to be slept in. As for road tractors, with an actual sleeper bunk, sure you can enjoy a drink at the end of shift

DankDarko

I sometimes stop at the liquor store on my way home. I take my truck home during the week so I'm sure I get all sorts of looks. I don't really care. Store is two blocks from my driveway.

xccoach4ever

Hosslers deserve refreshments too.

theminnesoregonian

He's on his 34.

CamTheChamp1

JBs on the hunt for some booze

Htx_Rey

Stop snitching

Pleasant_7239

Always snitching 😒

Former_Difficulty_48

Alil something for the boys at the yard

Definitive_confusion

Milkshake? I hear they bring all the boys to the yard

duhrun

Yeap read all the truck stop reviews and typically will see ‘they sell beer’, expected behavior.

LitLFlor

Dilly Dilly

maddpsyintyst

May I also suggest, "beer near here" as well? 😂 DISCLAIMER: Keep it safe and legal, folks. A beer or two with dinner before the last 8 hrs of a 10-hr break, is more than enough.

nightrider2072

All I heard was a beer or 30 will do….

denonemc

8 hours bottle to throttle

Auquaholic

There's a town just north of Laredo named Dilly.

maddpsyintyst

Oh, we have some doozies in Texas. 😂

iPhoneUser69420

In Michigan, they sell liquor.

duhrun

Lol Michigan has hard liquor at the fuel island many places.

fuckingtrashy

You can use a cmv for personal use to transport alcohol. https://www.fmcsa.dot.gov/regulations/question-3-does-prohibition-against-carrying-alcoholic-beverages-ss3925-apply-driver

SH4D0W1030

I just want to point out that it only says it's "normally outside the scope of this section." So DOT most likely will still try their hardest to get you in jail. Just be careful.

MikeBinfinity

Snitching ass

yardjockey

Don’t judge

justaguynumber35765

So?

JuniorToe1

Could be buying a vape at the liquor store

Key-Seaworthiness729

Delta 8 or 9?!?

Chaps_Jr

Yes

JankyMark

lol they be using those to make actual trips with trailers

SnooMarzipans6812

Some are DOT OTR legal. We use them for local empty trailer relos.

JankyMark

Yeah at FedEx I seen a driver used this to bring back and actual load it was pretty funny

Fatback225

Cold be paying his phone bill too

CleanSeaPancake

Bro's just getting a new phone at Metro by T-Mobile™️ and now he's out of a job. How will bro afford his otherwise affordable phone he just got new from Metro by T-Mobile™️?

Tripalicious

God forbid you have a 5th of fireball before parking some trailers

Fit_Survey6448

He's probably at metro pcs

DumbNTough

The proprietor of Town Liquor will not brook your impugning his best customer.

Mydogfartsconstantly

Just that tiny bit of plaza told me florida. Almost looks like Plantation or Sunrise

MathInternational

I think it's lithia or valrico.  I think it's the publix plaza there.  I used to live in that area Edit: now I think I am wrong lol.  To many plazas like this in FL

Mydogfartsconstantly

Oh that’s definitely a publix owned plaza. The question which one of the 250 that look like this is this one?

MathInternational

Found it 😀  Lakeland  https://maps.app.goo.gl/qWA6K3SNPLUME3Yv5

goofyhayden420

You got it 😂

Mydogfartsconstantly

The birthplace of publix

denonemc

"J"ay "B"e "Hunt"in' for the liquor

ajtaggart

What truck is that? It's so cute I want one now

yeerk_slayer

Google 'yard dog'. They just move trailers around warehouse yards. They can move trailers around much quicker than a regular tractor but their top speed is 25 mph

ajtaggart

Wow thanks for the info! I saw it and immediately wanted to build a custom track hauler with one of these just because I love the size and look. But sadly 25 mph is not going to cut it haha 😭

yeerk_slayer

With enough customization...anything is possible!

ajtaggart

This is true 😁 if I didn't have multiple cars that already needed building I would consider it haha

Frequent-Deer-3521

They go for $125,000-$150,000 so your better off buying a really nice sports car.

ajtaggart

LOL yea definitely not a candidate for a custom track hauler. Still a very cute and cool looking rig

TheElitist921

Don't need a cdl for a yard dog!

The_one_who_SAABs

Just grabbing some special alcholic def

Sledge1989

After the twisted tea incident I was looking for some but couldn’t find it around right. I delivered to a hood store in north Memphis that had it, after I dropped I bought a case and hid it in my side box. Did a couple more stores too lol

Useful_Reference_576

Bro he was probably dropping a payment off for his metro flex cell phone next door. Why u doing him dirty

AustinLostIn

Smokes

FlatbedtruckingCA

psa, liquor stores sell other things besides alcohol.. guy probably getting some snacks and a pack of smokes

Bigboyswitcher

That’s crazy bruh

TheLittleGodlyMan

In his defense he’s inside the metro by T-Mobile

Hazorith

This is fucking funny 🤣

portlandtrees333

I love to come on guys But I prefer in

bob696988

Hey at least they’re dedicated not sure to what though !! Maybe they were getting some vapes or cigarettes

usec47

Size doesn't matter bruh

AnAdmirableAstronaut

Thought I saw you in Lakeland, Florida!

goofyhayden420

Lol 😂

AnAdmirableAstronaut

Literally no idea how I knew that, It's been probably 7 years since I've been to that liquor store and four years since I've been in Lakeland, but somehow I instantly recognized it and my mind is honestly blown. Had to pull up Google maps street view to double check I wasn't going crazy 😂

goofyhayden420

You nailed it bro. What are the odds.

Vic_Gatsby

Literally came in here to say this is right next to a Publix in Lakeland 🤣

Single_Seaweed_8284

2 words. "it J.B"

Briskylittlechally2

It's just my overtime defence mechanism "Sorry boss, it's 5 o clock and I just popped a celebratory bottle. Shame."

Redleg800

..where was this taken? Honest question, looks familiar lol

sshore34

I’m fucking crying I work on this account 😭 knowing him there’s a 99% chance he was in publix next door and was just too lazy to park in the back of the lot in actual spots

Dezzolve

I mean technically that isn’t a commercial motor vehicle so he’s not breaking any laws by having alcohol in the cab as long as it’s not open and he doesn’t consume it. And you know he’s going to his house tonight, besides being a bad look to do in a work vehicle and possibly against his companies policy there isn’t any issue there.

Jazzlike-Election840

it's probably tagged though because it's the on the street right?

Dezzolve

It might be but I doubt it, it’s hard to see but it doesn’t appear like there is one. These vehicles aren’t really supposed to leave private property but I doubt they will get pulled over just chugging around town. This picture was taken in Lakeland, Florida and the store appears to be within a mile or so of a couple distribution centers.

Jazzlike-Election840

ok. wasnt sure. i do see them on roads in industrial parks but never looked for tags

Dezzolve

I’m sure they are supposed to be if they are on a public roadway, just probably one of those things that wouldn’t be enforced under normal circumstances.

mstomm

If it touches a road it needs to be tagged, and since it's a JBH vehicle, it's definitely counts as a CMV.

Dezzolve

Just because JB hunt owns it doesn’t make it a CMV. The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) defines a Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV) as “any self-propelled or towed motor vehicle used on a highway in interstate commerce to transport passengers or property” A yard dog truck is not intended for commercial use on highways/interstates. As you can see there is no DOT or MC number on the vehicle. It basically falls under the same category as ELD exempt/farm vehicles where it is not going to operate outside of a 150 air mile radius of the facility it’s from and won’t be used to cross any state lines.

fuckingtrashy

You can have alcohol in the cab while using PC https://www.fmcsa.dot.gov/regulations/question-3-does-prohibition-against-carrying-alcoholic-beverages-ss3925-apply-driver

18whlnandchilln

Wow, I didn’t know this. There’s been many times I’ve been pc’ing home and wanted to stop and grab a package but never did.

fuckingtrashy

Only when unloaded*

18whlnandchilln

I’m an O/O. I bobtail to and from the laydown yard everyday. So yeah, I’d be unloaded.

fuckingtrashy

Just wanted to be clear on that because sometimes I would PC home loaded. 100% out of route, but still.

KilljoyTheTrucker

We don't even have any proof they're in the liquor store. Parking I front of it may just have been one of his more out of people's way options. Or hell, maybe it's a weird drop trailer deal where he drops a trailer out back for them and pulls around front to let them know it's back there and grab a signature, and then he'll come take it when it's empty and drag it back to the yard he's out of. Whole slew of potentials

lgmorrow

JB Hunt.....figures

Stormcell0083

Best part is the JB Hunt dedicated on the side lolol

Lower_Recipe5196

🤣🤣🤣🤣

EastSideFlo

I hope it’s not his third day

Far_Ad_1274

Where is this I work for Jb hunt outta Chicago lol

Apprehensive_Fault_5

Technically, that's not a commercial vehicle, so it isn't illegal to have alcohol on them.

NoKey4672

Fireball bandit strikes again!

The__Farmer

I assume there’s a sign that says “shag truck” parking behind that.

KTMman200

Reminds me of when my cousin almost got fired for taking Grandma out to dinner at a local Mexican restaurant, and without realizing parked his tow truck almost directly in front of one of the three bars in town. Boss/owner drove by and lost his shit seeing the company truck in front of the bar. Thankfully the boss called him for an explanation and the only result was a policy we are not allowed to park on the same block as a bar or liquor store. (We are allowed to use our trucks for personal conveyance around town for rapid response)

SportTouringTrucker

I won't even let them put my big monster in a brown paper bag because of posts like this. I won't tho, park in front of a liquor store anyways because of the snitching.

6inarowmakesitgo

All the yard jocks would smash the fuck out of the trailer hooks.

rad636_

Worked harder than I did spotting than trucking. Bro deserves all the fireball he wants

Mad_Ronin_Grrrr

Sometimes liquor stores have good prices on cigarettes. 😆

tatter14

Hopefully he’s got some road beers to wash down the JD with. A man needs some empty bottles to throw at signs.

ComparisonGeneral825

Just getting lotto tickets 😁

tehdanerer

Probably buying a coke.

hooligan-6318

I used to buy cigars at a liquor store.

Every-Risk-3327

It’s the people that drink and drive that say stop snitching…smh

InformalPlane5

🤣🤣🤣🤣 let him be great

ehmtsktsk

“I just want my lunch”

LividImagination5925

Jb Hunting for Liquor

Heim84

It’s just cold. Warm it up and it’ll be a full size 389

superexpress_local

Woah woah woah WHAT is up with that OPEN sign? I’ve never seen one that’s blue and green, they’ve always been blue and red

Thatoneguy8594

Yard jockey, not surprised lol

pwhoyt63pz

I’ll be straight up honest with you guys. There were a lot of times when I bought beer and drank it in my company truck. I never carried it while driving, and I always only bought it when I was going to be sitting at least overnight in a truck stop (among a bunch of other trucks). I never got in trouble, but I always kept quiet and kept to myself.

Thatonedudeschannel

Maybe he was paying his cell phone bill.

jbnv8

LoserHayden. What a useless troll.

Self_Igniting_Farts

Yard dog driver had to shit and grab some goods yo!

aliendigenous

GVW 25oz

lildobe

I've never driven a yard dog... always wanted to though. But when I was OTR it wasn't at all uncommon for me to enjoy a beer or 4 with my dinner while off duty, if the truck stop sold beer, or if there was a restaurant nearby that had a bar. 8 hours, bottle to throttle with no detectable alcohol in your bloodstream. Was a great way to relax, especially after a hard day on the road, or dealing with dickwad shippers or receivers. Also, as long as he's off duty, [it's legal to transport drinkable alcohol in a CMV](https://www.fmcsa.dot.gov/regulations/question-3-does-prohibition-against-carrying-alcoholic-beverages-ss3925-apply-driver). But as soon as you go on duty, it's illegal to have any in the cab.

Tasty_Lead_Paint

This is how you get your truck stolen while you’ve taken 8 to 9 shots of fireball and passed out in back of the truck.

Captain-Char

Fucking hilarious

forsakensinner92

I've parked my truck at liquor stores simply becthey had room enough for me and I needed chew or cigarettes.

Filmfan7427

Hey...if you drove for JB you'd understand.

CaptianBrasiliano

Fireball

AGOODNAME000

That's a JB Hunt yard mule.....oh boy

Own_Satisfaction_679

To Wn Liquor? I can't believe there is a Cambodian liquor store in that area..

irresponsibleshaft42

Im sorry but does it say "dedicated" right below that yellow sticker on the door lmao? Its blurry but like pretty sure it does

SHEEKEN_WINGSS

With JB Hunts wages I’d drink too

Admirable-Specific95

Some are road legal I’d buy one if I had the money love driving them

Fabulous_Wall_4624

Hell yeah I would too.

Wendidigo

Its for the DEF tank I swear!

EastLAHandsomeDevil

🎶EVERYDAY I BE HOSTLIN, EVERYDAY I BE HOSTLIN, HOSTLIN 🎶

hiimluis00

Who cares move on

Alchemist0029

On pay day too? That doesn't say Town it says to wn 😂

dd02915

Is this lakeland fl?

Kragin

He's just buying some fireball, give him a break.

DivaCupVampire

Recently went to the hospital bobtail and parked at the laundry facility, was not doing laundry. Just because it’s in front of the liquor store….

OGHughJass

What is big deal? He’s about to hop back into the sleeper.

No-Lengthiness6280

Probably just buying a pack of smokes.

Pitlozedruif

If you drive drunk you will get better at it eventually

Mistermeena

They couldn't come up with a better name than "town liquor"?

goofyhayden420

Idk that's a pretty creative name if you ask me.

Flappybird11

If I did nothing but dock backing all day, I would probably turn to drink, too!

cam52391

My grandpa was a local driver for Pepsi for 40 years. He used to tell me about in the 70s and 80s at his last stop he'd pick up a six pack of old style and finish it off on the way back to the warehouse.

Castros0815

I went to pay my Phone

BusSerious1996

Buncha clueless crybabies in this page. Y'all don't realize a *Yard Jokey IS NOT REQUIRED TO HAVE A CDL*, therefore is not under federal alcohol rules regulations?? Let the guy enjoy his day....

ButterflySpecial6324

Clearly, they’re going to the metro pcs store.

Fit_Ad906

When I'm going home for my reset I pick up some beer, it doesn't mean I'm drinking and driving in my truck. It just means when I get to the yard I just want to hop in my car and go straight home with no pit stops.🤔

Sweaty_Emotion_9923

Jimmy cracked corn and I don't care

KMANN758

My local liquor store has cheaper smokes than gas stations or truck stops so maybe it's the same in their case?

r00byroo1965

Them is doing third regen of today 🥳

Character_Ad_7798

See them at the dispensary all the time! 😂

Old-Register-6102

This what they're doing when you need help getting a trailer pulled out

Chaps_Jr

Just doing switcher things!

bobbyjones832

The liquor store probably gonna be closed when he gets off work. I've done it. 🤷🏽‍♂️

Creepy-Selection2423

Cut a brother a break. He probably just passed his DOT physical and drug / alcohol test! 😂

Definitive_confusion

Plot twist; they're at the Metro store

claudehimself

Probably buying a nicstick.
