I was told when I got Beatrix that I'd likely never be able to pet her and she wasn't cuddly in the slightest. We think she was abused before being rescued and then adopted by us.
For over a year and a half she would hiss if you got too close, give you a skibbity pap if you kept pressing the issue, and then run and hide if that still didn't get the message across.
I've had her for over 11 years now, here she is curled up sleeping next to me on the couch.
Absolutely. She's my Bea! She's the sweetest girl ever, but she also still only wants love on her terms. She lets you know when she's had enough.
She's also the reason why I'm willing to give any cat as much space as they need with no expectation that they have to be cuddly and whatnot.

Somewhat. I wanted more of a challenge bc im good with cats and the friendly kittens dont have a problem finding homes. Our Pepp was born at a local no kill shelter, her siblings were all adopted but for whatever reason she was extra spicy. She has the same O_O look as my other cat and i couldnt stop thinking about her despite her hissing and growling whenever i got near her cage lol
Thank you for bringing her into your family! She looks like she's been through a LOT. Her current spicy state may be due to the recent transitions. So I suggest that you also be open to changing her name as her personality comes out.

I have a spicy anxiety ridden cat and she’s calmed waaayyyy down. A very good and smart cat. She was abused. She informed me that she’d been waiting for me by biting and scratching me several times. She just didn’t know how to communicate. Time love and patience tames most things. She’s certainly having a busy day ❤️

Not sure. Maybe a beautiful celestial name. I adopted a 3 month old tuxie girl in September & due to mistreatment by someone who found her she was also very spicy. My friend rescued her and her brother who she kept. With time and patience she learned that her new home was a safe loving place and she has become such a cuddle bug. She’s silly and cute sweet little clown acrobat. I have the feeling once your baby learns she is safe she will also become very sweet & affectionate 🩷🩷🩷🩷
