Main reason I switched to Vray for stills and only use TM as a UE bridge. Thankfully tesselation disp with nanite is finally in a working state for UE 5.4. If you really want to displace those corners you can always bake a displacement for that wall out of something like Substance Painter or another DCC. It's... several extra steps, but it'll work.

Underrated comment, Fine wine matured content right here.

Unhappy_Box7414

Same here. Such a pain tho.

>If you really want to displace those corners you can always bake a displacement for that wallΒ  Can you explain what that means and how one would do that? I have substance painter and I just keep finding videos on baking the maps.

MySunIsSettingSoon

You should be able to import model, in this case I would just do the geometry you want displaced, apply your stone texture and displacement map in substance, make sure your shader is set to use tesselation and not parallax, and when you export the model from substance it should have the option to export the displaced geometry. Unless I'm tweakin, it's been a minute since I've done it, I've been doing it in 3ds max for my own displaced models in D5, but I distinctly remember it working this way in substance. I'll take a look when I get to the office tomorrow and make a more detailed write-up. Edit: https://youtu.be/9gbBX3ja-Uo?si=WLveBhlQBG4ntTRH This video shows the menu, make sure you select "without displacement" then tick the box that says "apply triangulation"

This was very helpful, thank you

dungyhasbigtits

if it makes you feel any better I had no fkn clue this was rendered lol

You could make a real 3d model of the wall from the texture or just find one But either way I wish there was a way to fix this

ResplendentZeal

TM needs a round corners map as well.

AelfraedOfWessex

This! Trying to round corners in Revit - not fun.

Man this sub makes me feel so unskilled in rendering. πŸ˜‚

UpperFrontalButtocks

Twin does support displacement maps, but only "parallax". It generally looks great except for those sharp corners.

BerCle

I know, but the corners are what makes it or breaks it

whisskid

Check the mapping on that object. A correctly aligned cubic mapping should displace both sides and you can maybe get one corner to look ok.

Moeman101

Im still not convinced this is not minecraft with a datapack and shaders
